Dressed to Impress: BeatBo Clothing Review

I absolutely love buying new clothing for Ethan, and of course, snapping all those cute photos to send to family and friends. This baby stage won’t last long, soon he will be arguing with me that he wants to pick out his own clothes, and he’ll be telling me I don’t know whats “cool” anymore, and for all I know, we might be leaving the house in many superhero outfits. If Ethan is anything like his mom, he’ll have that stubborn streak and there will be no convincing him otherwise! But for now, I get to choose what he wears, and I am not wasting one second of it! He has all kinds of cute hats (he is not impressed wearing them currently though) tons of matching outfits (not that he can appreciate his socks matching his shirt) and cute little baby shoes (waste of money- he throws a fit when I try to put them on). In my opinion the baby shoes can wait until Ethan is walking, they currently just collect dust. In any baby wardrobe you will have lots of essentials to keep baby appropriately dressed for all the seasons, but there has to be a few fun outfits thrown in there though, so I was happy to receive some very fun, bright and stylish clothing from Babies“R”Us, the BeatBo clothing! Beatbo is a toy, a futuristic friend that can dance, play music and offer learning content (colours and counting). The toy is bright and full of colours to keep baby’s interest, and with the development aspect, what a perfect toy for any growing infant. It would only be appropriate that the BeatBo clothing is just as loud (definitely ‘making a statement’ type of clothing pieces!), bright (tons of colours), fun (what’s more fun than a dancing robot?) and stylish (trendy attire- even comes with a bandana and hat) as the toy is.

Ethan was pretty tolerant of the bandana. Usually he is not overly fond of hats or things around his neck, but he does try to eat it. He is still very young and wants to put everything and anything into his mouth (Who can blame him… he is only 4 months old!). It looks adorable, but I would not be able to keep it on him for long as he will just keep eating it and smooshing it into his face, this is something I would use when he gets a bit bigger (Though he is wearing the size for 12 months). The one piece short sleeve jumper was a bit big, but that’s even better because he has tons of time to enjoy it. I loved the dancing robot on the front, the one piece is bright and fun, exactly what you’d want in an infants clothing. The matching bandana makes for a stylish outfit, if you wanted to have one trendy baby!

The second outfit was a long sleeve one piece, I think this could be used for jammies, or even a day time outfit, because of the matching hat you definitely turn this into a cute day time outfit.

Again, the clothing piece has tons of colours and the use of the BeatBo Robot on the front, the hat resembles the BeatBo toy, using the same ears and face. I thought Ethan looked adorable and he was laughing when I put the hat on him (which is usually not the case)… maybe he saw how much his dad and mom were laughing and enjoying seeing him in something so fun and cute that he joined in on the fun! The hat is very unique, I love that is it bright yellow, and could be used with many outfits, I would say it’s more of a summer/fall hat, as the material is not overly heavy. This outfit will for sure draw attention and show the world how ridiculously cute your kid is!

Dance Party: Fisher-Price BeatBowWow Toy Review

BeatBowWow has really WOWed Ethan!

This is an interactive learning toy, baby can push the paws and see the puppy move and listen to counting, colours and beats. This is a great toy to help introduce your baby to words as it offers 25+ learning songs, tunes and phrases.

Ethan absolutely loves looking at the toy as it offers a great light show! There is a bright LED light on the puppy’s tummy, and his head and tail shakes back and forth making Ethan lost in admiration. I have even heard him squeal with excitement when he sees the puppy start to move. The toy is intended for 9 months +, but even at 4 months Ethan is able to enjoy the toys’ music and language and I think it’s great for Ethan to hear this because it can only help with his development, the more exposure to language he has, I think the better off he’ll be at picking up words faster. So to me, this is a toy that can grow with Ethan, he has lots of time to enjoy and appreciate what it has to offer. Once he gets bigger and can sit up, he will be able to push those big buttons to start the puppy moving and singing on his own. Right now I push the buttons for him, but sometimes I guide his fingers to the button and we push the buttons together so he learns what happens when he touches the buttons.

Ethan loves trying to grab the puppy’s ears and tail, all of which are soft which is perfect for Ethan as he is still small he needs delicate toys. I would not leave Ethan unattended with this toy because the base is hard, and could easily fall over on him (as he is not sitting up yet unassisted), so this toy we get to enjoy together. Sometimes when Ethan is getting bored or fussy, I will grab BeatBowWow, and because of the bright colours and upbeat voice, it immediately grabs his attention and throws Ethan into a better mood. The toy also encourages cause and effect learning, and promotes gross and fine motor skill development. A toy that is fun, educational and assists with baby development, to me is worth investing in!

Tip for new moms:

Babies have a short attention span I notice if Ethan starts to fuss in his jumper, or in his playpen, it’s not that he is done playing; he is just done playing there! I find if I change up his scenery he will go back to playing and enjoying himself if the view changes. Also, having a variety of textured toys, or interactive toys that offer a lot of variety (such as the BeatBowWow) really do help keep Ethan entertained. Anything repetitive will only hold his attention for a short period of time. Changing the toy or even just changing the scenery where he is playing creates new interests, change is good!
