Blog: Evenflo Exersaucer, Triple Fun – Life in the Amazon Review

An exer-whater? Put this one on the list of things I didn’t know existed only 9 months ago. Having a baby has expanded my horizons to say the least. It has stretched my mind.

Now that I know what an exersaucer is, put it on the list of things we can’t live without. In that in between stage, where she can’t walk or crawl but wants to be entertained constantly, the exersaucer is like manna from heaven.

Life in the AmazonWe picked up the Evenflo Triple Fun – Life in the Amazon model and oh my goodness, our daughter freaking loves it.

It was important to us when choosing the various baby toys/apparatuses that are now taking over our house, to try and get ones that would work at multiple stages of development. This exersaucer can be a play mat, exersaucer, and a stand alone activity table for toddlers. That checks our boxes; versatility is what we like.

One of our friends, upon seeing the exersaucer for the first time, remarked, “after playing with this thing, she will be a Mensa genius!” There are a lot of pieces with a ton of great learning and playing to be had.

We wanted something that would stimulate play without being all flashing lights all the time as well. And while admittedly, this toy has lots of pieces that make noise and flash brightly, there are quiet, non-blinking pieces too. Each attachment has the option to turn off, has 2 volume settings, and is powered separately from the others.  The light up, motion activated dance-club chameleon for instance, isn’t always in the on position in our house. Another nice feature is that each toy can be removed; also important.

Some of the attached toys are better for different stages, so we have chosen to remove and add certain pieces as she grows. You don’t always have to have it fully loaded. She had a very touch-and-go relationship with the dragon fly that involved attempts at relieving teething pain with his bendy wings, but that seemed to always end in tears, so he got the heave-ho, and that has lead to much more productive play time! With all of the toys on this thing, removing a few at any time is probably a good idea. We actually found our daughter would get overwhelmed with all of the pieces attached, and pretty much melt down from excitement and sensory overload about 5 minutes in. Simplifying things helped greatly.

That’s one of the best things about having toys that are modular and designed to grow with your baby. Customize it for their needs now and change it up as they grow. She enjoyed just looking at the colours when she was smaller, now being bigger, she’s able to manipulate the toys, press buttons and spin and jump, and we’re sure as she grows she’ll love it as an activity table too. It’s the everlasting gobstopper of toys!

We’ve been pretty impressed with most of the Evenflo stuff we have had the chance to use, and the exersaucer has been no exception.

And hey, if you don’t believe me, I’ll let the munchkin give her own testimonial!
