Blog: Munchkin Miracle 360 Cup (The name says it all)

Getting our child to drink enough water has never been easy. When it comes to milk, this girl could put a baby cow to shame, but with water, it’s a sip here or there and we’ve found that it has become quite dependant on the type of cup.

We’ve tried it all. Straws, no straws, suction required, no suction required, sippy, bottle, regular cup, hard spout, soft spout, no spout, spill proof, leak proof…who knew that a product used for something as simple as drinking could require so many features.

So we still use a variety of cups depending on what our picky toddler demands that Munchkin Miracle Cup2day and what happens to be clean and available, but one that we do like is the Munchkin Miracle 360 Cup. For starters it’s spill proof. And we’ve had other cups that have said that, and we’ve learned the hard way that it’s not been true, but with this cup, it is seriously spill proof. There’s a seal all the way around the top of the cup that lets nothing out, even if you shake it upside down (something our daughter frequently does with other cups to finger paint on the table with her beverage). We’ve even filled it with extra milk when we’ve gone out for the day and tossed it into the diaper bag to add to her bottle on the go without the worry of it spilling in the bag.

There are also no spouts involved with this cup. It’s shaped like a regular cup, so it’s good for practicing those big-kid cup skills, but with the seal on top you have to use some suction to get the liquid out. It took a little while for our girl to get used to that…there were a few frustrated attempts where she couldn’t get out what she wanted and threw it, but once she got the hang of it, it’s awesome that she can feel like she’s drinking out of a cup like mommy and daddy but not make a mess.

The spoutless cup is also supposed to be recommended by dentists to prevent braces-worthy tooth disasters…but who are we kidding, this kid is going to need braces anyways. Between her mother and I, who both had extensive orthodontic work (I’m talking palate expanders, removal of molars, braces, elastics) and her thumb-sucking prowess, she’s going to be an orthodontist’s meal ticket anyways. But why make things worse if we don’t have to? A cup that isn’t going to worsen the situation works for us!

Finally, this cup is simple. No straws and other tiny parts to take apart and lose, or valves to remove and try and get gunk out of, makes clean up quick and easy. It’s just a cup, and a lid.

Overall, it took a few attempts to get Abby used to the suction without a spout, but once she got the hang of it, we got to enjoy a generally simple and mess proof way to get liquids into her. If you’re looking for a cup for your little one, the Munchkin Miracle 360 is definitely worth a try.
