Blog: Evenflo Quatore 4-in-1 High Chair Review By »

August 22nd, 2016

One thing that is a constant in the world of babies is food. Whether it’s newborns that seem to need milk every 5 minutes, or growing toddlers that insist on snacks even though they just ate a full meal. So when we got the Evenflo Quatore 4 in 1 high chair, we knew it would be well used.

We love versatility in baby gear and this high chair is no exception. It transitions from an infant seat, for plopping a baby in while you’re cooking and starting in with the early mushy foods, to a high chair for bigger babies and toddlers, to a booster seat, and finally to a big kid seat to pull up to your kitchen table and have your child join the adults. So far we’ve only used the high chair portion, as our wiggly girl needs to stay pretty contained during meals still, but the other modifications will definitely come in handy as she grows; and once another baby joins the clan in the future.

When we first took it out of the box we were a little worried as it seemed like a lot of pieces, but it all snapped together quickly and easily, and passed the “I don’t need instructions to assemble it” test. All of the pieces for the later stages of the chair are stored within the chair for future use, which is a nice option instead of having to store them in a closet somewhere until you need them. The only point to note is that it’s not the lightest high chair out there, but it stays in the kitchen for us, and has really handy wheels on the front legs, so you can tilt it and roll to where you need. My wife and I have stubbed our toes on the legs a few times while trying to tuck the chair away in the corner of our kitchen while avoiding tripping over our daughter at the same time. She insists on standing directly underneath us when in the kitchen, and has gone flying a few times when she has ninja’d her way in behind us while we cook or prepare food. We’ve gotten a little more cautious, but that often means we’re the ones that take the hit (or toe stub) to save her little noggin.

Our daughter eats in style in this high chair with it’s funky pattern and cushioned fabric inserts. The fabric on the high chair, while comfy and easy to clean, is hard to KEEP clean with a messy toddler. Note for other new parents: do not turn your back on  your toddler with a bowl of oatmeal, or you’ll get something like this…

The fabric is easily wipeable with a wet cloth, but I’m a bit of a neat freak so we often pull the fabric cover off and throw it in the wash to get rid of the peanut butter smears, spaghetti sauce and mashed banana that gets regularly ground in.

To help with the cleaning side we really like the removable trays. There’s a small tray built into the seat for younger babies, and a large clip-on tray for bigger eaters that can be easily removed and wiped off. There’s also an insert to the tray that pops out for cleaning and protects the tray underneath. With how much this girl eats, we like this convenience.

We’ll definitely be using this seat for years in the future. There will be many more tiny feeding frenzies in our house over the years with our daughter and hopefully there will be at least one more tiny, hungry human down the road to enjoy the highchair. I can see Kristen and I finding it handy to set a newborn in while trying to manage the one we already have and make meals in the kitchen. We could even use it for multiple older children, with one in the booster, and one in the youth chair… when we get to that stage. First thing’s first…we’ll deal with keeping our current ravenous toddler healthy and well fed!
