I remembered the struggle with my other kids when it came to transitioning from breast to bottle. I’m glad there’s a huge variety available and that I was able to try the new Advent anti- bottle. After using the bottle, I noticed my baby has a preference for a more flattened tip on the nipple. He is also a very fast eater, and although the nipple says newborn, the flow was pretty strong. I really liked the air free vent and how it allows the nipple to be full of milk at the tip. My baby did not experience colic after using the bottle. He is still fairly new at taking a bottle, but I will continue to try out other advent nipples, as I felt this may not have been the right one for him. It constantly leaks if you shake it, tip it, etc. It’s very frustrating to be constantly wiping the bottle down so it doesn’t drop on me or the baby. Please go back to the old nipples or fix the new nipples so they create a tighter seal! For date nights, we leave the baby with a family/friend and he gets the bottle. He hasn't met a bottle that he has had difficulty with. Thankful we got to try this Avent natural first flow nipple thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel! But with that said, he took to the Avent Natural Baby Bottle and First Flow Nipple like a champ. Since we tried the nipple when he was about 6 months old, I did feel like it got a little slow for him at times. I do think having different nipple flow options are great. Especially if the baby has gas/colic troubles or will go from breast fed to bottle fed, back and forth. This nipple was a great option for the times the baby was less in the mood for vigorous feeding. It didn't cause additional gas from bottle feeding and it didn't disrupt my exclusive breast feeding. It is complimentary to breastfeeding, and my infant has been very particular taking a pacifier or bottle. We have tried a number of bottles and being a primary breastfed infant, I did not want this to have negative effects. So, this was a good fit. The length of the nipple did not cause him to gag or choke. He was able to finish his feedings in a normal amount of time, and there was little to no drooling or spilling of breast milk from the bottle. Our baby has also been a tough one to burp, so I worried when needing to use a bottle for feedings. We found that he did not suck in much more air and was able to burp fine after feedings. I would however mention that my infant is a good and active eater and the flow rate was perfect when he was in his first couple months. He has since grown out of this rate and over three months needs a faster flow rate. They are easy to clean and we will use this kind in the next flow rates. We appreciate weeSpring Parent Panel for these nipples. He had used ComoTomos just a few times without incident or issue, but was generally exclusively breast fed at the time. When he tried the Avent First Flow Nipple, I noticed he hesitated with this new, foreign shape to the nipple and to be honest struggled at first to get it situated properly. He kept pushing it to the side of his mouth and then sliding it around his tongue instead of latching on. I was about to give up, when I decided one particularly fussy morning for him to give it one last try. On that day, I could tell he was voracious and wanted milk badly. This time, when I put the nipple in his mouth, he pushed it around his mouth a few times but then latched on successfully and started drawing down large pulls of milk. Once he got the hang of it, he ended up draining the bottle (5oz) faster than I've seen him drink anything before. Quite the revelation! Thereafter, he had it figured out and could almost immediately latch and start drinking. He did not experience any extra air gulps or subsequent uncomfortable gassiness or unusual burps. All in all the First Flow Nipple got the job done, was relatively easy for my baby to get the hang of it, and most importantly helped him when he was rejecting his regular ComoTomos.
Date published: 2018-01-19

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pennst8kate from Slow flow for the win [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This slow flow nipple was exactly what my baby needed! One thing I never expected to worry about was finding a bottle and worrying about which nipple would work for her! I figured we would just pick a brand and go with it. There are SO many options it was overwhelming! I'm exclusively breastfeeding, but wanted some help with night-time feedings. Well, my daughter did not easily take to our first (or second, or third) attempt at a bottle and nipple, so I was grateful to receive this product as a part of the weespring parent panel. She seems to prefer the original, but did ok with this particular nipple as well. I'm sure we will continue to get some use out of it, but it ultimately is not our favorite. I think it may be a little slow for her right now. She doesn't have an issue with colic so I can't say for sure if this nipple would help with that, but my guess is it's worth a try! I like the design and I think the ergonomic shape makes a positive difference in this nipple. It's been really important for us to have several different nipple options, so I'm glad to add this one to our rotation. We haven't used it a ton, since she's primarily breastfed, so I can't chime in much on how it holds up. The Philips Avent Natural nipple has been a top choice for her so far. The shorter, rounded nipple seems to fit in her mouth the best, and the petals are cleverly designed to allow the nipple more natural 'give'. Due to my overactive letdown the 0M flow was too slow for my little one. The 1M+ flow was easier for her to get accustomed to. My youngest just turned 12 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. I was a little nervous about returning to work because I wasn't sure how well she would do with a bottle. So far, it's been a breeze! From the first time I introduced her to the Phillips Avent bottle with Philips Avent Natural First Flow Nipple, she took right to it! We've used both the 0 and 1 flow nipples and baby doesn't seem to have a preference. I find it helpful to have a variety of options available to choose from as she grows and her needs change. The anti-colic vent seems to be effective, as I have not noticed an increase in gas since introducing the Philips Avent Natural First Flow Nipple. Baby seems comfortable and content when taking the bottle and I attribute most of that to the fact that the design of this nipple allows her to gain a deep latch, just as she would if at the breast. I plan to continue using the Philips Avent Natural First Flow Nipple and bottles. A huge thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for giving me the opportunity to try and review the Philips Avent Natural First Flow Nipple.
Date published: 2018-01-17

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gramfam from A win for Mama and Baby! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a breastfeeding mommy of a now four month old, I appreciated almost everything about these nipples! In anticipation of my returning to work we had tried several bottle brands and nipples with our little one. After two different bottle/nipple brands made our infant too gassy, a friend suggested the Avent brand. Soon thereafter, I was given this bottle nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. The first flow nipples were great for our young baby and prevented her from becoming too gassy. That was a huge win in my book! We also liked how soft they were because she was able to get a good latch, similar to my breasts. She took to the nipple well and had no issues switching back and forth between this nipple and my breasts, so I was still able to breastfeed her when I was home. This may have been because with the first flow, she still had to work to get the milk (like with the breast) and couldn’t chug it down, making herself sick. I also like that with the Avent system we are able to choose the right nipple with the correct flow rate to keep up with our baby’s growth. While these first flow nipples were awesome, now that she is older and has gotten the hang of using bottles we have switched over to the 1m+ nipples and we still have no issue going back and forth between bottle and breast. The nipples also are very easy to clean and don’t seem to get cloudy like another brand did. Overall, for a breastfeeding mama and baby these were a total win!
Date published: 2018-01-17

Rated 5 out of 5 by amberlavine from Most like the breast, super soft [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ideally any mother would want to exclusively breastfeed her baby, meaning no bottle introduction. But sometimes it just doesn't happen this way. Some mom's go back to work, you need a night out or emergency situations where baby needs to be fed but breast isn't an option. At the same time you don't want to cause nipple confusion and you still want to breastfeed and have that close connection with your baby. These are absolutely ideal for that situation. These have to be the closest thing to an actual breast that I've found with my three children. Coming in different flows that best suits each individual baby. We are three months so we've been most comfortable with flow 1. They're super soft and have a spiral denting making them more breast like and easy for baby to adjust to. I will be purchasing stronger flows as baby gets older. I was lucky to receive these from the weeSpring Parent Panel.
Date published: 2018-01-16

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Comfortable, easy to clean nipple [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been very happy with these nipples since we introduced them to my son when he was only a few weeks old. He is now almost three months old and is still happily using a size 0, and while the flow rate has been working out great for us so far, I really love that there are multiple sizes so we can graduate to a faster flow when he gets bigger without changing up the type of bottle that we use (and therefore having to get used to something new). We don't have any issues with gas or swallowing air with these nipples, and my son had no trouble switching back and forth between breast and bottle. We've also never had any problems with leaks. I love that the Philips Avent Natural bottles have a range of nipple flows so I can keep using the same bottle as the baby grows. My baby is 2 months old and much preferred the natural shaped nipple to the traditional style. The natural shape so closely mimics the breast and the flower petal design greatly increases the flexibility and softness of the nipple. My baby is primarily breastfed, but took to this nipple and corresponding bottle very well. She did not have any issues with colic or gas, but I did notice that I did not have to release the air pressure in the bottle as often with this nipple. I would highly recommend the Avent Natural nipple.
Date published: 2018-01-16

Rated 4 out of 5 by LivingwithLacy from Breast to Bottle We tried to familiarize my little one with a bottle as soon as recommended without overwhelming her. She would get very upset whenever my husband offered the bottle, she just played with the nipples but there wasn't much interest in actually suckling from it. We then tried the Avent Natural First Flow Nipple, and initially I didn't think it was much different than any other bottle we tried, in fact it seemed less advanced as others. I liked the simplicity of this nipple, it was easy to assemble, no additional parts to sanitize and add to the bottle. The bottle was ready for my husband to try, as I left for the gym. Upon my return, and to my surprise, I see the bottle on the kitchen table, with only an ounce left. It had 4 ounces to begin with! My husband said that our little one was again upset that I wasn't there, but this time after trying to play with the nipple of the bottle again, she actually started suckling and drank my breast milk! I think it was really important for us to have a variety of nipple choices, since my little one seems picky when switching from breast to bottle. This nipple had a shape similar to the nipple, and according to my husband the flow seemed enjoyable to my little one (he has seen her choke when the flow is too fast from other bottles or even the breast). I did attempt to feed my little one the remaining ounce of the bottle when I returned home and she didn't drink all of it, about half, which I think was primarily due to mommy feeding her rather than daddy. She sees mommy and wants the actual source! I did appreciate the flow of the nipple, as it wasn't too strong for my little one, which I often worry about. What I took as a good sign, was that she wasn't gassy after taking the bottle, which I have witnessed in the past due to the suction of air being allowed in. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this bottle and nipple to try and review.
Date published: 2018-01-16

Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle Nipple, First Flow Nipple 2-Pack Reviews - page 3

y_2025, m_5, d_13, h_13

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_2, bvpage2n

co_hasreviews, tv_8, tr_112

loc_en_CA, sid_90BDBB71, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 6ms

reviews, product
