I love a product that can grow with my quickly growing baby
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a nurse who works overnight in the hospital. My six month old baby is breastfed and nurses while I am home but occasionally drinks breastmilk from a bottle. Out of all of the bottles we have tried, the Avent natural baby bottle is our favorite. I like the wide nipple on these bottles that is a more natural shape comparable to a mothers breast. My baby has never had a problem drinking from Avent bottles and nipples. When my baby was ready for a faster flowing nipple than the newborn one that came with the bottle, I was not sure how fast of a flow to purchase. I did not want to waste money purchasing different flows to try. I also did not want to guess and buy one that was too slow or too fast. The variable flow nipple takes away all of the guess work in choosing the correct flow nipple. It is the only nipple you need. Depending on which direction the bottle is rotated you can increase or decrease the speed of flow. Before trying the variable flow nipple my baby was using a stage 2 nipple. On the variable flow she is also happiest drinking with the nipple in the 2 position. When the bottle was turned to the 3 position my baby started to gag due to the flow being too fast for her. I love that later, if she decides she wants a faster flow, I can simply rotate the bottle to provide that. I previously had a different brand of bottle where the vent was on the bottom and could easily get covered when holding the bottle. These do not have that problem - the vent is always clear. I would also say the anti-colic vent works because we have not had any problems with reflux or gas lately.
The only negative I can think of for these nipples would be if your baby feeds themselves. You have to position the bottle a certain way to get each of the 3 different flows and keep that specific spot at the top of the bottle to maintain the flow. This would be challenging, if not impossible for a baby.
I highly recommend these nipples when your baby is ready for a faster flow. This eliminates all of the guess work out of choosing the correct speed and you can make sure your baby is getting the perfect feed every time! I love a product that can grow with my quickly growing baby.
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5 month old is currently using the 3 month stage nipple. It works great for him! With other bottles/nipples, the milk was coming out entirely too fast, causing him to spit up most of his food. He spits up less and have significantly less gas when using this nipple/bottle. It's great to have the option to adjust the flow of milk so easily. Also, the nipples are much easier to clean than other brands. Great product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These nipples are a good choice when looking to buy bottle nipples. It is good to have a few different nipple choices and this was especially helpful to me as my son had some lachment issues. My son takes this nipple with ease, though he does empty his bottle pretty quickly. He hasn't had any gas issues, but it does down it fast. I would recommend this product to parents!

Breastfed baby loved it, so mama does too!
I am loving the newly designed Philips Avent Natural nipples, but more importantly, so is my breastfed daughter! I have used the Philips Avent medium flow nipples in the previous design, but this newer, softer version was easier for my daughter to latch on to and also decreased her spitting up after a bottle feed. It's made of durable materials, easy to clean, and to the touch, it feels softer and more flexible. My daughter had no issues taking to this nipple, which is important as I do a combination of breastfeeding and bottle feeding. She does tend to chug with the medium flow but that's easily resolved with pacing the feed. My recommendation to other parents would be to not only pay attention to the age range on the packaging (this one says 3+ months) but to how your child does during and after the feed i.e. gas/spitting up/etc. We had tried the medium flow at 3 months and it was too much for her, but now at almost 5 months she does well with it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product for all babies for the great design, ease of use and transition between breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and for the variety in flow rate to help parents decide what works best for their baby. Thanks to weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple to try and review.

Not a big fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this nipple every which way with my 5 month old with no success. This review will discuss our two main uses for the nipple and what our experiences were-
1. Bottle for formula/breastmilk: We've been giving my little guy bottle supplements since he was just a couple of weeks old, mainly due to supply issues I was having at the time, and subsequent weight issues on his end. Since then, he has been exclusively committed to the first nipple and bottle brand we offered him, but we tried this one anyways. I was hoping it would change his mind due to a faster flow rate. What actually ended up happening? We both needed a bath after each time we tried the nipple. The flow rate was incredibly fast and most of the liquid ended up on the baby. He just couldn't keep up. The mechanism to adjust the flow rate (turning the bottle so that a certain side of the nipple is being sucked) seems really impractical for a squirmy baby who requires stopping and starting several times throughout the feeding session. The instructions that came with the product didn't even discuss how to use this variable flow rate. It is possible that if we had moved up slowly in nipple sizes before trying 3+ then it would have been a different story. But based on our experience, I don't think that this size is suitable for a 5 month old, even though it is marketed as such. That being said, he wasn't too thrilled about the newborn nipple on this bottle either, but you can check out my other review for more information on that.
2. Bottle for thickened liquids- We started solids at 4 months due to weight issues (and this baby would stare and salivate at our food at every meal). We realized that we could get him to eat most efficiently by spoon-feeding, but it has been very labor intensive. When this nipple came to us through the weeSpring Parent Panel, I was hoping that it would allow us a cleaner and more efficient way of feeding thicker liquids that the baby loves, like yogurt. This method required just as much labor, if not more, than using a spoon. I would offer the bottle and have to grab it away before he drowned himself in yogurt (and we tried many thickness levels). I was afraid that he would throw up. He still managed to get tons of it on himself, and I really don't know how much made it into his little tummy.
I personally think that Philips Avent bottles are pretty neat and easy to use, with the exception of this particular 3+ nipple. Again, there may have been some user-error involved, but it just didn't work for us at the end of the day.
I received the product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, and appreciated the opportunity to try something new!

Not the nipple for us
*I received this product for free as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. All opinions are my own.*
My son is six months old and has been bottle fed a combination of breast milk and formula since birth. He is very particular about his bottle nipples and has always preferred the disposable nipples he got started using in the NICU.
We tried this nipple over a month or so, but he did not adjust to using it. He was never breastfed for any length of time, so he's never liked this style of nipple.
In theory, I think the adjustable flow of one nipple is genius, if only because that means fewer nipples to buy down the road. In practice though, I wasn't thrilled with this style. The first flow was too slow, but my baby had problems managing the flow of the second and third options. Another problem was that during night feedings, we keep the nursery very dark to encourage him to fall back to sleep easily. It was nearly impossible during these night feedings to determine which flow was facing up, so he ended up either coughing up milk from too heavy a flow or not able to get enough. The night time issue alone would keep me from purchasing these.
One definite pro of this nipple is the ease of cleaning.
My son is past the gassy newborn phase and luckily never suffered from colic, so I can't speak to those properties of the nipples.

Variflow nipple for the win!
I was given the Philips Avent Natural Variflow Nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I am a first time mom and had been using the nipple that originally came with my first bottle for 0m+. I hadn’t even thought about increasing the nipple to the next stage. I should have switched to a faster flow nipple sooner now that I see how much easier it is for my daughter to drink a bottle with this nipple. At first I noticed that she wasn’t used to getting milk as quickly and she had to adjust to how she would swallow or her mouth would just fill up with milk. She was able to master that within the first week of use. She had no problems adapting to the nipple itself as it’s the same size as the previous nipple I had been using. We haven’t noticed any stomach discomfort such as gas while using this nipple. Trying out this product has opened my eyes to other flows and updating nipples as she continues to grow to ensure she’s getting milk at the proper rate for her age.

Great product, but not for us!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 4 month old was exclusively breast fed up until a month ago. When we made the switch to a bottle, we realized it was going to be more difficult than we thought. My baby is very picky when it comes to the bottle. I was excited to try the Natural Variflow Nipple because it really tailors the flow to the baby. However, because my baby is so incredibly picky with his bottles, I could never get him to accept any Phillips Avent bottle or nipple. The Avent line has great quality and durable products, but they did not work with my baby. He would rather cry for four hours over accepting this nipple. We have since found a bottle and nipple that he happily accepts, but unfortunately it's not Phillips Avent. I can't really comment upon the pros and cons of the nipple because my guy never took the bottle, although I can say they are good quality and easy to clean and maintain. I only give four stars because I feel the nipple could be a little bit more soft and squishy, but I do recognize this also depends on baby's preference as well. Overall, I would recommend a new parent to try this product as a starting point when introducing a bottle because they are well constructed, easy to clean, and easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 5 month old preemie who has been exclusively bottle fed (formula) since 3 months. When I was given the Philips Avent Natural Variflow Nipple as part of the weeSpring parent panel, I was excited to see how he would do with a change in nipple size and shape from the standard nipples we have been using. The shape was great, he was able to fit the nipple in his mouth correctly, and looked comfortable when latched on. Unfortunately even on the slowest flow with this nipple, it still seemed a bit strong for him. He was gulping his formula and ended up with a bit of an upset tummy after from the extra air - he's never been that great of a burper. I will definitely keep it around to try again in a month or so, as I love the idea of using one nipple with a variety of flow, and would love to have him transition to a bottle with less parts and pieces!

Awesome and convenient
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love using this nipple. My daughter is both nursed and formula fed, and having a Variflow nipple helps tremendously with that. She took on to the nipple variations so easily and well. She prefers slow flow for formula bottles, and medium flow for expressed milk. Having a Variflow nipple is so convenient to just put it on our Avent Natural bottle, and switch to whichever flow she prefers for that feeding, rather than scrambling around, looking for the right nipple, for that feeding at the moment. So when I got this from the weeSpring Parent Panel, you can imagine my delight. My only issue with it is the anti colic notch. If you don't line it up correctly, it can leak. Other than that, it's great.

Not Quite A Miracle Nipple
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These nipples come two to a package with a minimal design and an affordable price tag. The unique flow style of these nipples is where they really shine for me. I have an overactive let down accompanied by an oversupply which has made bottle feeding my exclusively breastfed five month old incredibly difficult. My daughter has snubbed every bottle and nipple up until this one. It's not a miracle worker but, after a bit of a learning curve, starting off with a slow flow before twisting the bottle and ramping it up before frustration hits got my girl to drink her first full bottle without tears.
My oversupply often causes her to drink more than she needs leading to an upset tummy due to gas pains. There were no such issues when she drank from these. The ability to pump and know that she'll drink the occasional bottle without breaking my heart is pretty amazing.
My baby took to this nipple better than any other nipple we've tried. She still hates bottles though, so they're awesome nipples but not miraculous. Also, bottles are used infrequently in our home, so some of the complaints I've read about the nipple opening widening over time isn't an issue for us.
The same thing I love about these nipples, my husband, who most often offers our baby a bottle, dislikes. He didn't enjoy the learning curve required to figure out which flow our baby preferred at which time and found the need to adjust during night feeds frustrating.
My biggest issue with these nipples is the lack of clear directions included. Without close inspection of the package, they appear no different from any other nipple. The only thing resembling a direction is the left arrow on the 3m+ graphic indicating you should turn the bottle to the left. If I had received these as a baby shower gift, I might not have realized the difference. Overall, I'll continue to use these for my baby's occasional bottle. Baby like the variflow nipple!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I both breastfeed and bottle-feed my 5 month old son. We have been using the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature nipples with our son, but I was excited to be given this bottle nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent portal! I love the idea of a variflow nipple - no more paying attention to whether the current nipple matches he correct age range of my son! My son is not picky and had no problem switching from his usual nipple to this new nipple. This nipple did not seem to impact my son's gas in either a positive or negative way. The only drawback to this nipple was that it is unmarked - whereas the other nipples in the series have numbers indicating the flow, this nipple does not have any indicators. If I had put these nipples away after using them with my first son and then taken them out to use with my current son, I probably wouldn't remember that it was a variflow nipple.

Great for breastfeeding babies
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a mother of two young boys. I have breastfeed both boys and have tried many brands of bottles to help with colic and gas. My youngest son I am currently breastfeeding has a hard time burping and gets gas very easy. I have noticed over the last 2 months that when I feed him with a bottle, he doesn’t have as much gas. He doesn’t have crying spells during the day! I am so happy about this! I couldn’t find a solution for my older son but I also never tried Philips Avent bottles. I l am so thankful I received Philips Avent Natural Variflow Nipple for free from the weeSpring Parent Panel. After trying this variflow nipple I noticed that my sons gas started to go away. He doesn’t have crying spells anymore and he burps easier. He is 3 months old now and seems to want to drink milk quickly. I was glad that I did have the option to try this variflow nipple. He did really well with it. I like how I will now be able to feed my son breastmilk with cereal in a bottle because this variflow nipple will work great with thicker milk. I haven’t tried it yet since my son is still young but with my older son I had to spoon feed him the breastmilk with cereal and it made a mess. Since not all babies are alike, I really like having an different nipple flows available to use. I tried Tommee Tippee Bottles and I noticed after trying Philips Avent that they were too big for my son. He didn’t like how they had wide nipples. It was much easier for him to drink with the smaller nipple that Philips Avent makes. It relates more to have breastfeeding is naturally. My son took to this bottle right away. I have recently started to give him bottles again so I was surprised that he took to this bottle without any effort on my part. I will be switching to this bottle and nipple flow. I love these bottles and the options I have! I hope that you will try them and enjoy them as much as I am.

Great Choice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the wee spring parent panel, I had the opportunity to try out the Phillips Avent Natural Variflow nipples and bottle. My daughter is 4 months old and primarily breastfed. We have a hard time finding nipples she will accept. These nipples really feel very close to the breast in shape and texture. They are high quality, wide, and thick which appealed to me. I appreciated the option to try out different nipple flow rates. We found that the slowest (0m+) worked best for us. It is very helpful to have a variety of nipple choices to fit the same bottle and saves money when you are trying to find the perfect fit for your child. My daughter did not have any gas after drinking from this bottle which was another huge plus. I am very impressed with this brand, particular style, and options. I would definitely recommend them and can see us buying them as gifts in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Avent Natural nipples with my first kid and continue to use them with for my second, who's 4-months-old right now. I have had the hardest time getting her to take the bottle. I have tried so many bottles, and different flow nipples. Thanks to WeeSpring Panel they offered me to sample the Avent Natural Flow # 3 nipple. At first my daughter would just chew and play with the nipple. The next thing you know my daughter is suckling away! I couldn’t have been happier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle nipple from the weeSpring Parent Panel. My baby girl just turned 3 months old and I was so excited to try out the natural variable flow nipple. It is so convenient that they offer multiple nipple varieties to cover all stages. I love how I can just turn the nipple to adjust the flow to my babies needs. She is mostly breast fed but I've started to introduce bottles and she has no problem taking the Avent bottles and nipples. She still prefers the slower flow and I don't plan on adding any cereal to her breast milk so I don't know if we will use the faster flow at this time. Since we started using these nipples she has less gas and spit up due to the twin anti colic valves. The qualify is great as well, even after multiple washes in the dish washer they are still very sturdy. I would definitely recommend trying these bottle nipples especially if you are breast feeding.

Too Fast, Too Fussy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Breastfeeding was my plan from the get go, but like most moms I stocked up on bottles on the off chance I should need them, and boy did I! After a really rocky start bottle feeding ended up being the method of choice for my sweet boy and we primarily used one brand of bottle, but thanks to wresting Parent Panel, I received these Philips Natural Medium Flow nipples to use with my Philips Avent Gift Set bottles (another shout out to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending it to me!). It was nice to have another nipple option when I received the gift set, as I typically use the medium flow nipple on my other bottles, I didn't want to cause any stress to my 4 month old by suddenly switching the flow on him and getting him frustrated with feddings! So once I had everything washed and sanitized I put the nipple into the ring and noticed it was just a tad difficult for me to get it fitted into the ring, no big deal though just a little extra effort was all that was needed. Once I had his formula all mixed up, I attempted to get him to try this brand new bottle and nipple. He was a little resistant at first, as the wide base of the nipple is different from what he is used to, but he got the hang of it rather quickly. This is where I ran into a problem, during feeding time my son began to cough and sputter and would eventually stop taking the bottle all together! I ended up switching the nipple out for one of the slow flow nipples included with the gift set and my little man took to it so much better, enough to where he actually finished the bottle without further incident. Of course, as with the end of most feedings of our sweet babies we try to immediately follow it up with a good burp, well one thing I for sure noticed was that instead of the loud, deep, manly almost painful sounding belch my baby let's out, it was a much softer more 'normal' burp than I am used to. I was somehwat worried with using this nipple, as I'm used to bottles with extra parts and pieces used to prevent gas, but my son had no gas issues after! I would definitely count that as a win. All in all, this nipple was just too fast for my little guy.

Perfect Flow Nipple Every time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been buying Different brands for months and nothing seems to work right. The hole is too small and nothing comes out or its too fast and too much for my baby to handle. It gets tiring and frustrating trying to deal with nipples that dont work. I've even tried a knife to make the hole bigger but that leads to problems and having to go buy more nipples and a big mess. When Trying to feed my baby it always seems that the formula gets stuck and doesn't flow properly but with Philips Avent Natural Variflow Nipple The formula flowed nicely and baby was easy to use it by latching on with no problems. I like that its made by philips Avent it's a nice Natural Variflow Nipple. These Nipples flowed just right and perfect for my little one. With these nipples they can only be used with philips Avent Natural feeding bottles. They are thick and very well made. I liked that it comes in a two pack so you definitely have more to work with. Its BPA Free and a fantastic nipple for your baby. I highly recommend this product. Excellent nipple for a breastfed baby!
As a mom that knew I would be heading back to work a few months after giving birth, it was critical that my son was able to take a bottle well. We tried a number of different bottles and he eventually settled on the Philips Avent Naturals line. I love that the bottles don't leak and there aren't 17 pieces to clean! My son is able to eat both formula and breast milk from the bottles without any gassy issues or discomfort.
Now, 5 months in, it was time to upgrade to a size 3 nipple - or the medium flow. I'm still impressed! I LOVE that Philips has updated the tip of the nipple. It's got a spiral design on it and it's much softer and more flexible than the older version. My son took to it immediately and has no problems with the nipple collapsing or being too different from the earlier ones. I will note that he stills uses a size 2 nipple for the breast milk - my milk seems to be a little thinner than formula and on the size 3, he sputtered quite a bit. Just proof positive that even down to nipples, it's not always one size fits all! Thank you so much to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me these nipples to try and review - they're hands down the best for an easy feed!

Love this brand!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a pack of two Philips Avent Natural Medium Flow nipples to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I had totally given up spending money on different bottles just for my four month old to keep rejecting them. We tried everything from the expensive bottles, to the dirt cheap bottles. My baby didn't want anything to do with a nipple that wasn't her mom's. As you can imagine, this mama needed a break! So I was very excited to hear I've been chosen to test out a new brand! But I also didn't get my hopes up too high going into it knowing there was a very good chance my stubborn little girl would reject this nipple, just like the rest. So the same day my package came in the mail, I opened it up to find two nipples in a hard, clear case. Then I took everything out to get it ready for our first feeding. First of all, I was very pleased to learn how easy the nipples were to clean! They are wider than most nipples I've tried so you don't have to use a bunch of different small brushes to reach tight spots where mold or buildup might occur. And who doesn't love something dishwasher safe? Once the nipples were all clean, I popped one on a bottle and prepared myself for a battle against my bottle hating baby. To my surprise, she latched on right away! I couldn't believe how well she took to these nipples. She didn't have a problem with colic or spitting up after her meal, either. It bothers me that I didn't try this brand sooner. Especially since they offer the convenience of different sized nipples so the nipples can essentially grow with your baby. With the competitive pricing on top of all the other perks I previously mentioned, I will definitely be recommending the Philips Avent brand to every new parent. I wish someone had done the same for me!

Less gas & less spit up! Definitely recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to start my breastfeeding journey when my daughter arrived, but it didn’t go quite as I had planned. I planned to exclusively breastfeed for at least 3 months but it took a very long time for my milk supply to come in after my daughter was born. Luckily, I had some bottles on hand but she always had so much spit up with the bottles we were using. My daughter is currently 4 months old and we still use bottles for supplementation. She still has a ton of spit up and gas after taking a bottle. We tried this Philips Avent Natural Medium Flow Nipple and my daughter took to the nipple just like she always does. This nipple has a swirled type design inside the nipple that’s different from other Avent nipples that I have seen. When I burped her she had no gas and absolutely no spit up the first time we used this nipple! That was a first! We have used it a few times and she still barely has any spit up and minimal gas if any. My daughter still prefers a slower nipple, not quite sure why but we love this style bottle nipple! It’s great to have a variety of these bottle nipples on hand since she’s growing so fast and her preferences on nipple flow will change.

A bottle nipple that helps continued support of combination breast and bottle feeding!
I both breastfeed and bottle feed my baby so I love having an option for bottle feeding that is compatible with breastfeeding. It is very helpful to have a choice of different flow rates when it comes to bottle nipples. I prefer to start with the slowest rate and work up from there. I try to match the bottle nipple flow rate with the rate that my breastmilk flows at that time. In the first few months, I have a very fast breastmilk flow so I try to match this with my baby's bottle so that he does not form a preference and will keep feeding from both the breast and the bottle. It is nice to have the option to be able to customize this to the needs of you and your baby. I try to give my son a bottle every few days to make sure that he will keep liking and taking one. This helps provide me with some freedom because I am a second time mom with a toddler to run after as well! I have tried a few different bottles/nipples and my son definitely liked this one. I would recommend this bottle nipple to all of my friends who are trying to maintain both breast and bottle feeding.

Great design
When I found out I was pregnant for the second time, I was determined to breastfeed for as long as I could. Having a toddler at home made that difficult and decided to pump. It got to the point where she preferred to use the bottle over nursing, and I began having issues with supply.
I began using this bottle, and things started to change very quickly. The first few minutes she struggled to adapt to the new nipple, but after just a few minutes she got the hang of it and wasn't letting go.
The bottle I received came with a newborn/breastfed nipple along with a 3m+ pack. Having options as far as flow without having to purchase a whole new bottle is fantastic. Although my baby girl is four months, she preferred the 1m+ nipple, and I was impressed when she was latching to nurse at night without a problem.
After using this bottle and nipple for a few days, I am convinced that this is the bottle for my daughter. I tried giving her the previous bottles a few times (the Avent one was dirty) and had no success!! Off to wash the Avent bottle!
Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this nipple and bottle and as a result allowing me to continue nursing my daughter at night.
