It was great at first, especially great range. However, with less than 1 year of actual use, the quality of the image on the monitor has deteriorated so much that we can no longer see our baby in the dark (he is just a blurry blob). For some reason, the image is still fine during the daytime, I have no idea why we can't see at night. I reached out to Summer customer support and was given unhelpful suggestions that did not resolve the problem at all and implied I was stupid (one response was that the daytime image would be better because of lighting - that is obvious). I was told that the monitor was outside of the 1 year warranty period (because we bought it before we needed it) so there was nothing they could do (except suggest we buy another, more expensive model - HA! Why would I spend more with a company with failing products that do not back their products). I don't know if this is standard deterioration (if so, DO NOT BUY), or if I have a defective model and it's just really bad customer service (which also dissuades me from buying from them again). I've included pictures of the summer monitor image about 8 months ago when it worked at night, a current image of the summer monitor, and a current image of another monitor we have with the same camera placement and lighting conditions for comparison. They turn on but directionally, they do not function (when you press the up or down feature they simply wobble diagonally). They have not seen heavy use or any touching from the kids so it is clearly poor workmanship on Summer Infant's part. I was able to get a warranty replacement for one, but since the second was right outside of a year- we will see. Will have to claim on Credit Card extended warranty if not. Such a disappointment! It has cost us countless hours of lost sleep and sanity with its failure to maintain video and/or sound connectivity to children&rsquo;s rooms. Numerous times we&rsquo;ve had to resort to sneaking into their rooms to unplug the camera, wait 30 seconds, then replugging the camera and praying it restored functionality as we slinked out. I have it set up exactly as the instructions say, but my baby just looks like a fuzzy blob. I've been contacting them since April 2020, its now late July and I'm no closer to getting a replacement. Every time one of their customer service people responds its a different person asking the same questions.
