<span itemprop="description">We just got these and installed them. They Seems to be sturdy and well constructed. If you aren't used to having to step over something in your doorway, make sure you put something eye-catching on the bar at the base. My husband and I stubbed our toes and feet several times before finally putting bright orange duct tape on it. I would also say make sure you measure out your doorways well as you cannot order extensions in Canada. We had enough extensions, but even though they were the right number, how many you put between the doorway will vary. Ex. We needed to add another but it was too tight of a space to add an additional one but too far away to have fewer and keep the gate strong. We had to go with one fewer and now the gate isn't as sturdy and bows a bit near the opening. Probably just an irregular distance in our apartment but something to consider. Overall I would say it's a good gate.</span>

I had bought 3, all being returned as they are unsafe.
If you don't use the two bottom swing-locks to allow a at the same time the wood portion of the gate can be pushed outside of the lower metal bar very easily. If the child pushed / flexes the gate out and if they then put their weight down on the bottom wood rail (my little one did both of these in one move) then the gate flexes and the top latch is bypassed.
At first I thought I didn't latch it correctly or the install was wrong somehow but everything was verified 100%. After confirming the latch I watch my little guy repeat the opening of the gate and I promptly uninstalled.
If you need a gate that your little one can't open themselves I suggest looking for something more secure.</span>

I ordered 3 as the look and wide opening were appealing. I had one installed for 10 minutes before it was removed.
Almost instantly my 11.5 month old 21lb toddler figured out how to open the gate on his own... from floor level.
There's no bottom pin and the wood gate is flexible. If you set it up to swing either way if the gate is pushed or pulled at the bottom corner under the handle and pushed down at the same time the latch is bypassed and the gate opens right up.
The first time I saw it happen I couldn't believe it. Thought I did something wrong. Closed it again and made sure it was latched.
Sure enough, 30 seconds later our boy had it open again.
It might work as a dog gate. Definitely not as a safe child restraint. I don't know how it can be sold as one.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought this and installed it last month and I had to take it out and return it. My 10 month old baby can pop it open by just standing and shaking it. It also says on the box that you do not need a drill to install but then inside in the instructions a drill IS REQUIRED! Very disappointed with this product.</span>
