Although the elephant itself is pretty neutral colored, you can press it foot which lights up the belly and plays a tune. The belly changes different colored lights which will keep baby entertained. The music is a soft melody which is nice because it&rsquo;s not an annoying or jarring noise. Overall this is a cute mixture of a stuffed animal and a musical toy. I think the picture shown of this elephant is slightly deceiving, because while the belly lights up, it doesn&rsquo;t light up all three colors at the same time and during the day time when this is used- It&rsquo;s just a basic glow. Not circular lighting as shown. Either way, the reason I am giving this elephant 3/5 stars is because of the musical settings. You either click the foot and get 5 seconds of music. Or, you go into the back, flip the switch and get 20 minutes straight of music (if I timed it right?). That&rsquo;s a HUGE difference. Once you switch to the longer timed version, I couldn&rsquo;t find a way to stop the music either? Finally, I can&rsquo;t put a finger on why, but I much rather prefer the music on the longer loop as opposed to the tunes that come out of the short 5 second tracks. Belly part of this toy is so soft and smooth. He keeps it next to him when he goes to bed. We have set the music that plays throughout to use it during his sleeping sessions. We can choose short melody music or sleep Melodies throughout. This adjustment can be done like When you open the elephant on the back (the clasp is made of velcro), you have two switches. The left switch can be used to set whether short melodies should be played or sleepmelodies throughout. It needs 3 AAA batteries that is included. You have access the slit on the rear to locate the battery compartment.
