I will admit that I did think that the water would be kept colder after a couple house. I actually expected ice cubes to remain somewhat whole within 2 hours of adding it to cold water and taking the bottle on the road, but that was not the case. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations! I do like the thinner base that allows the bottle to sit nicely in my car's cupholder. The bottle I was using before had a bigger base and always fell and rolled around my car making it difficult to access when I needed a drink! The one ting that is weird is that when the bottle is almost empty, when using the straw, the bottle gives off a somewhat annoying whistle, which as you can imagine, is even more annoying in the middle of the night when I am trying to stay quiet! It was fairly convenient for the short time it was usable. I had it sitting on top of my car and a burst of wond sent it tumbling to the ground. The straw was closed, but part of the plastic interior mechanism broke and the the bottle is now useless. The lid is so heavy/chunky which makes it top heavy when not completely full. The straw is no longer hard plastic but instead a clear, less durable version. Finally, it no longer has a clip on the handle which really came in handy. Really wish you could still buy the previous version. Another issue is that there must be a leak somewhere in the lid that keeps sucking in air which prevents you from taking a full swig and its very annoying. Then there's the issue of the straw length: it reaches nearly right down to the bottom of the bottle, which was understandably designed to maximize the amount of water you can drink from the bottle, but the problem with this is that often the straw will directly touch the bottom making it impossible to suck any water from it. As another reviewer mentioned, there are nooks and crannies in the lid that are hard to clean. Just a disappointing water bottle overall. That's when I noticed the black spot down deep inside where the straw goes. I used a straw brush to clean, I tried reaching the spot with a toothpick,, anything skinny and strong enough to get to that spot I tried, to no avail. So, that is when I decided to sacrifice my beloved water bottle,,, I pulled the flexible rubber piece that holds the straw &amp; meets the mouth piece out. It was horrible, there is NO way to get this clean. After I removed it, I tried to put it back, just to see if it was &quot;removable&quot; &amp; I had never known it. Once removed, it will not go back into place. I am just heartbroken, I love this water bottle. Keeps water cold for days! I also have an older model with another style lid, but this one is better with the side lock and the easy clean feature. It's convenient to take my water with me and not worry about it leaking. I've put it in my bags and had it laying down in the car - no leaking. I like to clean mine every once in a while with the Polident retainer tabs in addition to using those little brushes inside the lid. I have three problems with it. First, when I shake the bottle (to add some flavorings or so), and then push the spout release button, liquid goes all over the place. There are a couple workarounds, so this is not a real problem any more. The second problem I have is that because of all the nooks and crannies in the mechanism, it is very hard to clean thoroughly; there are some hidden places where dirt starts accumulating. I have another Contigo mug without the straw and this has never happened. It must be something to do with the carbonation pressure and the straw. So disappointed I left the non-spurting mug at home. I really like my new Core Tritan water bottle! The color is called blue corn but it&rsquo;s transparent so I can see the contents. It&rsquo;s a nice size and the bottle is easy to hold. It has a button that opens the spout (which they call autospout) and a straw that goes all the way to the bottom of the bottle so I can get every last drop of H2O. And did I mention that it&rsquo;s leakproof? Oh yeah, it&rsquo;s leakproof! Not a single drop comes out when I turn it upside down or lay it down in its side.
