We are a Cybex carseat family and I was so excited for this new Sirona S. We also have an Eternis S, so I was familiar with some of the features that were also on the Sirona S. We have had this car seat for a few weeks now, and while being quarantined at home recently we haven't done as much driving, I still feel like I've gotten enough use to write a review. I love that I will only have to install this once since the installation is good for both rear and forward facing. That being said, I watched videos on installation before I did it, and it certainly looks easier in all the videos than it was to do myself. I installed with the lap and shoulder belt and had a really hard time getting the tensioner to clip in place when the lap/shoulder belt was locked. My husband was eventually able to get it and I am now grateful that this does not require me to re-install. Now that it is in, it feels very secure. Some of the features that I love the most are the load leg base, swivel, the ease of adjusting the headrest and SensorSafe. Having a load leg base is in itself a great feature, but the base also shows you red/green if you are installed securely and also has a lock showing a check mark if the seat is securely clicked in or an &quot;x&quot; if the seat is not securely clicked. This is especially helpful if you utilize the swivel feature and are constantly swiveling the seat back in forth to get your kid in and out. The swivel is simply genius and makes putting your kid in SO much easier. I currently use this seat for my almost 1 year old, however, I also have a 3 year old. When I'm just taking my 3 year old places he now asks to ride in his brothers seat. Both are still rear-facing, but even if he was FF, it would still be incredibly easy to allow him to use this seat with a simple adjustment of the headrest or swivel from RF to FF. Having an Eternis S, I am familiar with the SensorSafe technology. The SensorSafe app was helpful guiding me to where to install the sensor in my car (I had installed the sensor when I got my Eternis S, so I didn't have to re-install). You are able to add more than 1 seat to the app, so you can have multiple seats using the same technology. I have always been impressed with Cybex and this carseat is no exception. It has safety features galore, looks incredibly comfortable and is so easy to manipulate. I can easily recline the seat if I think my son will fall asleep in the car, or I can keep him more inclined if I think he wants to look out the window. The only &quot;downside&quot; that I can come up with is that when he is RF but sitting in the upright most position, there is a lot of &quot;dead space&quot; at his feet. As in, the seat does not sit flush with the backseat of the car, so things can fall down past his feet and he isn't able to reach them. On the flipside, this is likely a bonus if you have tall kiddos you want to keep RF because that is extra foot space for them as they grow. All in all, I love this car seat. The only &quot;issue&quot; was the harder-than-expected install but since I only have to do it once, I don't mind. The safety features and the swivel certainly make it stand out from other seats on the market. I used to bump my daughter&rsquo;s head on the top of the door opening every time I put her in the rear facing car seat. With this one, she snaps on easily facing me and the seat just glides right back into the rear facing position. She used to fight and wrestle with me getting into her car seat. And even though she still does sometimes (lol), it&rsquo;s so much easier to get her strapped in while she&rsquo;s facing me instead of trying to do it sideways through a small opening. And I absolutely love that you don&rsquo;t have to reinstall the base if you want to switch it over to forward facing. Omg sometimes it takes me an hour+ to learn how to install and actually install a car seat correctly- especially when there&rsquo;s different instructions to install it forward facing or rear facing. The base has a stability leg so it&rsquo;s pretty safe either way you flip it. Overall, the quality of the car seat is excellent. Everything works/snaps/glides so smoothly. The Eternis is made extremely sturdy and all of the parts on this car seat glides/snaps smoothly and seamlessly. You can tell that they did not skimp on a single detail- including the packaging box that it comes in. (I've had other car seats delivered in a loosely packaged box without any foam protection or padding that keeps it in place. So the box is not only bent but the car seat inside it has been tossed/bumped around!) So the attention to detail not only makes me feel like I have a high quality product, but it gives me assurance that the car seat is going to hold up and do it's job in the event of an accident. I love the LSP (Linear Side-Impact Protection) that is built into this seat too. Even though the middle seat is supposed to be the safest to put your car seat in, the LSP seems like it would give extra protection that my previous car seats didn't have even if it's installed on the outer sides. I have two different car seats installed on each side of my backseat. And honestly, it's tough deciding which child to put into the Eternis because I feel like I'm favoring one child over the other and in the event of a car accident, the other child may not be as safe. It's so stupid and silly but I really do feel that way and I'm thinking of buying another Eternis and donating my other car seat because of it. LOL. The only drawback I could see about the Eternis though, is the size/width. You really can't put 3 car seats in a row with this. However, 3 in a row is hard to do with most car seats and I think the Eternis is more for people who are looking for Style and Durability or Safety. Not necessarily Space savings or Lightweight/Travel friendly. It&rsquo;s metal core makes me think that it will protect my LO better than a plastic one. The padding looks very comfortable too. The downside is that it harder than other car seats when it comes to secure it with the LATCH and not allowing it to move more than the max inches specified in the manual. After a lot if pushing, pulling and sweat I got it to be fairly steady. I installed several car seats, different brands and this was the most difficult from that point of view. Another worry that I have is about securing the car seat after my child reaches 44 lbs(if I remember correctly), because they say not to use the LATCH system and only use the seat belt of the vehicle. So to me that sounds that the only thing that will keep the car seat into place will be the anchor. If I secure it with the seat belt, then what will I use for my kid once he&rsquo;ll be too big for the 5 point harness? So these are some of my concerns. My initial thought was it was sleek and modern, so much my husband instantly wanted to switch out seats with me and put it in his sports car. I love the soft padded material around the shoulder supports and leg buckle. I was also impressed with the back support that automatically adjusts when you pull the head rest up and down. This seat also has Linear Side-Impact Protection which is hard plastic that can be set on each side and is designed to absorb impact during an accident. Installation was a bit difficult. It took about 30 minutes to install the first time and that was after reading the instructions. The issues I ran into were understanding the proper routing for the lap/seat belt for the rear facing configuration. The seat was loose and it took a moment to figure out how to route the belt through the belt locking feature. Subsequently, the seat was extremely easier to install.Once installed everything was easily adjustable including the tilting mechanism and moving the headrest. Overall, I love the car seat and would definitely consider purchasing this seat for my next child. It is definitely top of the line and superior in many ways. Pros: The seat sits firm and doesn't slide around in my vehicle (GMC Terrain). It was difficult to get the seat in snugly. Once I put my toddler in it, I did have issues getting the straps situated correctly. I had to raise the headrest to accommodate my toddler but that caused the straps to be too high so I had to keep putting him and taking him out to get it right. During this, I kept tightening the straps on him, and then I would hear a click and the straps would just become loose again. This was concerning to me. Overall, the seat looks nice, my toddler thinks it is comfortable, and it has some extra safety features I haven't seen on other seats (like the side impact buttons on the sides). It has a lot of padding and seems very comfortable, even the buckle has some around it to avoid marks around my babies thighs when she wears shorts or bathing suit. The adjustable head rest makes this car seat extra safe! It reminds me of a race car and how protected their head must be. I picked black color and it might be slightly &ldquo;boring&rdquo; but I like how you can&rsquo;t really tell there have been some water spills, and it is easy to clean. It took me a little while to learn how things work (I am slightly technology impaired) especially with adjusting the head rest and making sure it was in the right position, but once I got it it was great. The straps slide very nicely as well and the small places to hook them are such a nice feature!! So helpful when you have a sleeping baby that you need to put in or take out of the car! Overall, this car seat has everything you need and nothing you don&rsquo;t. He is still rear facing, and I hate struggling to get the car seat hooked to the tethers. This made it so easy to switch between cars and get a good tight fit every time we had to install it. I also loved that you can access the tethers by unsnapping the lining of the car seat. It made it so easy to thread them through properly and make sure they were not twisted. I also really love that it offers a head recline. We have not used it much yet, but when my youngest gets a little bigger, and out of the infant seat, I can't want to have that option for her so she does not slump foreword! It is easily adjustable, and very easy to get the right fit/recline in the car.
