As a result, larger urine-soaked nappies are difficult to force down due to their size, and poopy nappies smear due to the force required to get them in the bucket, which means you end up with poo on your hand. This pail works fine for small cleaner newborn diapers, but I wouldn't recommend buying it as the &quot;smaller nappy newborn honeymoon&quot; doesn't last very long. I have been using the Diaper Genie Expression for a couple of weeks now and I really like how easy it is to use. I really like how well it locks in the smelly diapers and it can easily be opened with a push of a button. I was able to change our baby and deposit the dirty diaper into the pail while still holding our baby in the other arm. My wife in particular loves the Expressions available for this diaper. It allows her change the look of the pail easily and there are so many choices - 5 expression cover designs are available. To be honest, the Expressions covers no longer makes it looks like a Diaper Genie at all. It fits into the decor of our nursery beautifully. We have been using a normal garbage pail with a lid for our cloth diapers and that was not cutting it. It was such a relief to be able to out the diapers in and not get that horrible lingering smell. the pail just seemed to eat up the smells. Another great point is that it is very easy to both open and close. The button pops up the lid and you throw the diaper in. Easy to do with one hand. With cloth diapes we just emptied into the launrdy. When using disposables you attach the bags and the diapers get bagged which helps keep any smell in even better. I really liked the plain white look of it and it went well with our minimalist decor. I also got to try out some of the covers which was great because you could really change the look of it very easily. It is also easy to move and does not take up a ton of space. When I looked at the Diaper Genie Elite (for $10 more) - they had a foot peddle to open the genie (which would be great if my hands are full or dirty and didn't have to lift the cover). I have used several versions of the Diaper Genie and this one is a strong contender that I would easily reccommend to others. On the positive side, you have all the general conveiniences of the diaper genie line including the easy to install Diaper Genie &quot;7 - layer refill bag&quot;. This specific &quot;Expressions&quot; pail comes already assembled and has a sleek design that is sure to fit the d&eacute;cor of any room. You can leave it white or choose from an array of slip cover choices that are modern and designed to fit many tastes. It is easy to use with a push-button lid and easy enough to empty when the time comes to do so. The only drawback that I experienced is in comparison to another version of the diaper genie pail that has a foot pedal that opens the lid. In this (Expressions) version you need to push the diaper down into the pail once you've opened the lid but, like I said, this pail is still easy to use - even with one hand. After a few weeks of using it in our nursery, I have a few thoughts on the newly revamped unit. Like the original unit, the basic white unit is very attractive. It&rsquo;s sleek, curved and fits in almost any nook or corner in a room. The fabric sleeves are simple, and fairly neutral in design and colour are a nice addition to the old design. The sleeves are pretty and fairly neutral, meaning they will go with pretty much any design. The disposal bags are certainly sturdy and hold up to pretty much any mess your little one can throw at you. The best thing about the Diaper Genie is the smell protection. This is one of the best diaper disposal units for containing stink. You don&rsquo;t smell a thing, not even from the gag-inducing scent is locked away in the Genie. Nothing is perfect and there are a few things that I didn&rsquo;t love about the Diaper Genie Expression. I really didn&rsquo;t love having to dole out money for the disposal bags, despite them being great bags. While the cost isn&rsquo;t astronomical by any means, it&rsquo;s still something you&rsquo;d have to purchase and it&rsquo;s not easily adapted to other options (like grocery bags). It&rsquo;s also not easily converted for use with cloth diapers. While other diaper disposal units allow you to simply swap out the disposal bags for a reusable one, it&rsquo;s not easily done with the Genie. And for parents who want to use cloth diapers, even for a short time, they would need another unit for their reusable diapers. I prefer to not to use my hands to push the diapers down into the bottom of the bag. The fabric designer sleeve is nice to be able to coordinate the pail to the decor of the room. There are a variety of colour options. It would have been nice to have more diverse colour pallet, not just having the same tones in colours. This product is designed to minimize the smell of diapers within a small space. However, I would not recommend this product because I prefer the older edition. So much better then the last one (it was an older style, and would smell after a bit). Bigger hole for depositing diapers, it keeps the odors contained better and it's super cute! I have all the sleeves and more then one matches the nursery. My mom thought it was so cute and had no idea it was a diaper genie. Very discreet. I do like that shape as well. Not as tall as the other one I had so it fits in more spots. Great idea and product. Being able to switch out the patterned sleeves is such a great feature as you don't have to commit to one colour or pattern but instead switch it up as it suits either your nursery or preferences. As to be expected this Diaper Genie is great at locking in odours like other models and it is so easy to empty and change. I really like how you can leave it the traditional white, or add one of the customizable sleeves to match your nursery. My favourite is the grey cloves as it matches the grey and white theme of my baby's room! In addition to being stylish, I also like the ease of use. It was a breeze to set up, and the push button makes one handed disposable of diapers quick and easy! Compared to my previous diaper genie (Diaper Genie Essentials) it is shorter and wider and holds more diapers, allowing for less frequent need for emptying! Overall, I am very happy with this product.
