His arms open out to the side as well as back and forth and he stands. I love that his pants are not made of material but are actually part of the doll because as a parent we all know the dolls end up without clothes at some point. I also love that the boots are part of the doll too because that is usually the first to be misplaced. Great job with this doll!</span>
