Aden has used the bottles since I stopped breast feeding. He easily latched and never had a problem experiencing gas or being fussy. I have used the 4 ounce bottle. The bottles are lightweight and easy to clean/put together. I just wish they had more coupons or stores had them on sale more often. For our second pregnancy we tried avent brand, our son didn't take well to them. I think it was because the bottles and nipple part is so large/wide he may have had issues latching on. so we decided to purchase a single dr. Brown bottle. After the first attempt my son took very well to it. The small nipple was so much easier for him. so we bought the bundle with various bottle sizes and nipples. I especially like the fact that the bottles fit most hand pumps so it makes it easier to just pump straight into the bottle. Especially when traveling I don't have to have extra bottles just for the pump. I recommend this brand to my sister, After she explained to me how she was struggling for her daughter to feed from a bottle. My niece took very well to a dr. Brown bottle. My son is 2.5 months old and this bottle works best because the nipple isn't too big. The only glitch (which happens with lots of bottles) is that if one of the bottles tips in the bag, it spills everywhere. Bummer! But all in all, I wouldn't choose another bottle. I cannot say if the vent helped or not with these issues because our son was so bad gassy with using the bottles but we didn't try other brands due to paying for these. The main complaint I have is how bad the bottles leaked. Later, for our first grandson, I found the Dr Brown standard bottles to be quite convenient, and was pleased that he didn't have to be burped until the bottle was finished. Next came the TRIPLET preemies (now 13 months old), and I am even more enthusiastic about Dr Brown's bottles. Happy babies and happy adults! BTW - I discovered this morning when getting Pediasure ready for one of the triplets, that the shorter vent (etc) fit into/onto an 8-oz Pediasure bottle. He does wonderful with them not really gassy from excess air. My biggest concern is I bought a pack of the standard bottles and they leaked like crazy!! My sons speech therapist explained the difference between the options and standard bottles and I came to realize that my standard package of bottles had the nipples meant for the options bottles. I was very disappointed at buying a product that I had loved in the NICU only to have so many problems and I wasn't able to find the answer online when I had googled it. My son ended using the preemie nipple from in the NICU seeing as it is the only nipple I have that is meant for the standard bottle. I had tried purchasing in stores and they didn't have them. Currently he is back on an ND continuous feeding pump so I have time to get the correct nipples. It came to my attention that I am not alone with the packs of standard bottles coming with the options nipples and experiencing leaking. I'd love it if Dr. Brown's would ensure each bottle had the correct nipples before sending them out. No one wants a leaky bottle and most people would just switch to a different brand rather than figure out why a bottle leaks. I'm glad the speech lady informed me of this issue to where before my son got put on the ND feedings I didn't have to change his clothes each feeding and struggle to get the bottle to stop leaking. These are honestly an awesome product that I wish I had know more about with my older two kids. My baby is 3 and a half months old and still using them. It would be great if you guys made a sippie cup for babys six months and up like Nuk has some. My only concern on the bottles are that you have to be very careful with not turning them upside-down or for it to liedown cause it will leak. I originally purchased another brand of bottles, but she could not eat from them correctly. The nurses recommended these bottles for my baby. These are a miracle, they allowed my daughter to come home with us from the hospital because she fed from them with no trouble at all! Although the 8oz bottles are a little uncomfortable to hold and there are several parts to clean, these bottles are great! My poor daughter would be so gassy and have such a hard time burping that she would projectile vomit her milk back up frequently. After I switched to the Dr. Browns bottles, she was a whole different baby. A little complicated to clean, but totally worth it. I have tried a couple other brands that I recieved as a sample or gift and I didn't like them as much! We started her off with Avent bottles and realized allot of poor suction and spit ups. I was told about Dr. Brown bottle and have then a try! It solved all of our issues and realized there was to much air leaking through her lips. Without these bottles made by Dr. Brown I think we would have been in the doctors office!!
