I tried many other top brand bottles that also had a venting system. The Dr. Brown bottles are the only ones that turned things around for us, my son stopped vomiting after eating, was happier and much more comfortable, he hardly spit up after switching to Dr. Browns. So of course for my second baby I choose Dr. Brown bottles, last time I used the thin bottles but this time I got the wide neck and thin bottles. The thin bottles I had a lot of problems with leaking, my son was ok with the thin bottles but loved the wide neck nipples ( ate better, didn't fight with the nipple, was able to get a great latch verses the thin bottles). I also love the wide neck bottles, it's easy to hole and very comfortable, I also like the cap that keeps the bottle from leaking while traveling! I recently tried the new options bottles and had terrible luck. I have only used them with the vent system in and my son is miserable after eating and full of gas. He cries, burps constantly during and after eating, he also spits up like crazy when using the options bottles . . . The vent system just doesn't seem to work in these bottles compared to the traditional Dr. Browns vent systems. He had none of these problems when using the original vent system bottles. I was very disappointed! We are going to stick with the original wide necks, they are amazing!!! It was so comforting knowing he would be nourished while I worked. Getting replacement pieces wasn't easy, but I wouldn't use any other kind of bottle. We noticed our son ate faster with them and didn't seem to get frustrated at all. So we decided to completely switch to the wide neck bottles. We are unsure why this mattered as he never had any problems with the other bottles just seemed to like this better. But we love them and they are the same great quality as the others. I was also happy to see that the lids for these bottles stay on better and help prevent leaks while traveling. We are planning to buy a pack in the opti grow as well. For my third baby I tried these wider ones and they seemed to constantly have leaking issues. I tried tightening the cap more. I tried filling them 2 oz short to avoid from them leaking but it didn't work either. I purchased the thinner bottles again because others were so bad and they don't leak. We purchased a handful of wide neck 240ml bottles well before our baby arrived. Wide neck is the only size available in the UK and Dr. Browns is only available in certain branded stores. The teats were the easiest for our baby to adapt to and latch onto over other brands (we tried 2 other brands at the same time) and we used them as a preventative measure against colic - our baby hasn't suffered. What's more her wind is minimal with a Dr. Browns bottle over other brands. High quality and great value, I appreciate they are pricey but comfort for your baby is priceless.
