Dr. Brown bottles cut her discomfort by half! She started sleeping better the day I changed her bottles to Dr. Brown bottles! Cons: extra pieces to clean and be warned, there is NO anti-spill feature. Not even with the bottle caps on. The contents just drip out. Very frustrating as I had to constantly Make sure the bottle was upright when not in use. Of course i was not always successful and had leakage in my diaper bag and worse- in her crib. Too complicated looking, too many parts to clean, too bulky, just not cute at all, etc. HOWEVER, I just can't hate them because simply put they work for us. From the moment I gave my 7 week old this bottle I could tell the difference from all of the other brands. I've probably tried most of all of the popular anti-colic brand and I was just over spending $8 a bottle for them not to work. Every time I'd mention my disdain for pretty much all bottles friends/family would always mention Dr. Brown. Went to a baby shower and ladies were talking about Dr. Brown. After having twisted my arm I still wasn't convinced. Went to the store and they were 20% so I thought to myself &quot;fine. What's $13 for 3 bottles&quot; and bought them and I'm so glad I did! These bottles are so &quot;quiet&quot; compared to all of the other bottles. No sucking sound. No air bubbles floatin around in formula/breast milk. No collapsing nipple. And most importantly no more gassy-spitting up-angry baby = happy parents! Yay! The first time we used the bottle it did leak but I've found that we have to screw the nipple/cap on a little tighter than normal and also make sure all parts meet up correctly. Once we figured that out No more leaks! I gave this bottle a four star because mixing formula can be a bit of a pain. They said it was a great bottle to prevent air bubbles and gas because of the vent. So I included it on my baby registry and received it as a shower gift. In prepping for the baby's arrival, I opened the packaging to wash the bottle and was frightened away by all the parts and pieces, although I was impressed that a brush was included to clean the little areas. The baby is here ... with colic: He would not stop crying. He was so uncomfortable with gas and I tried EVERYTHING. Gripe water, probiotics, Gerber's soothe since it has the probiotic in it, but I couldn't piece to gather the right combination. I started looking at different bottles. I wrote to a few of the major companies asking for a sample or a coupon, I wasn't sure what would work best for us and didn't want to invest in something that may not be a great fit. My responses ranged from no response to a &quot;sorry we do not do that.&quot; A week went by and I received a package in the mail, with a Dr. Brown bottle. They were the only ones that gave something, and that something was a bottle! My boy loved it! And it was a piece of the puzzle we were missing, that and the y-cut nipple which allows thicker liquid and lets my son pick the speed at which he wants to take in his bottle. Moving right along: My son is now 8months old and has a collection of at least 15 bottles (3days worth). His dad took him out for the day and somehow returned home with only the bottles. We were missing the innards, nipples and covers for 3 of the bottles. After a BRU visit and finding just the nipples, and vents I contacted Dr. Brown to inquire about purchasing the cover, and nipple holder. After a quick response from Dr. Brown asking about specifics of the bottle, they said no problem and that they do have replacement parts. I eagerly awaited an invoice and received instead all the replacement parts save the nipples. How awesome was that?! Their customer service went above and beyond my expectations. Am I a loyal customer? Oh most definitely, they had me at the first contact. Would I recommend them? Yup, loudly, to everyone with or soon to have a little one. I love that it helps with spitting up and less gas swallowed. I DO hate that it leaks. I've tried everything from unscrewing the top off to vent and gently tighten it before feedings, but it still leaks. That would be the only complaint!!!! Washing extra parts is no big deal so now 7 years later with my 3 month old, I'm using them again. After her oral procedure, she needed a slow flowing nipple and she has trouble making a seal so we tried the Dr. Brown specialized feeding system with the newborn nipples. It was horrible! my daughter was choking and gagging (apparently the newborn nipples are any slower flow than all the stage 1s we have tried.) and the specialized feeding part did not help at all...she still ended up wearing half her milk. Ever since the switch we noticed a drastic difference. He was far less fussy, not spitting up as much and didn't need to burp as often. He has learned that is the most comfortable for him and it is the only bottle he will take, now. My only qualm with the bottle is that without a dishwasher or the extra funds to buy the special steamer, the bottles are very hard to clean. After starting her on the Dr Brown bottles we noticed an immediate difference with her. We are so thankful for that. They do have a tendency to leak of not stored upright and also have a few parts that take time to wash and reassemble. The bottles come with a disc that goes between the nipple and bottle to prevent leaking but I often forget to remove before feeding resulting in an upset baby. We've never had any leaking problem like some people are talking about. We started using the bottles when our son was 2 months old when I realized that he could be having a colic problem. So, I was suggested to get Dr. Brown's bottles by the store lady which she mentioned, once you get this, you'll never look at any other bottle brands. And she was totally right! They work wonders! Since we started using these bottles, he's never had the colic issue anymore. He's 1 now and we're still loving it!
