It has long nipple's and when my son holds the nipple the back of nipple does not make a tight fit with his mouth so he takes in air through the mouth. I liked the design of MAM bottle nipple's. Funny thing is, it was the last bottle we chose to try because of all of the pieces. The bottles worked wonderfully for gas are actually super easy to clean. Now 4y later we are using dr Browns for my son. ** If your bottles leak, you are filling them too much. I think that these did help when he was younger with feeding issues, but now that we don&rsquo;t need the vent system the nipples invert after just a few seconds and it can&rsquo;t be used without the vents. However, as soon as I put the vents and they leak so badly that I need to have a towel nearby or change his clothes. I have worked in daycares for awhile now and always loved Dr. Brown bottles, never had a problem with them ever. When I became pregnant I knew right away I wanted the Dr. Brown bottles. We got the new Option bottles and figured the older ones work great so these I'm sure are just as amazing. I was wrong. The milk pours out of the bottle. We tried multiple different ways of putting the cap on just right, every time the bottle leaks. We tried them without the vent and you have to make sure the cover is on just right or it will still leak. I'm very disappointed in these bottles. We now use them without the vents and just pray we have the cover on right or we will get covered in formula. We used dr browns traditional with our daughter and and liked them so we bought them again but this time noticed the bottle does leak and i cant tell from where. First i just thought my husband wasnt putting the bottle together correctly but then noticed its leaking! I just complained to the cs and they asked a bunch of questions and saud they will send out different sizes and to see which one i like so lets see. I read some of the 1 star reviews with mom's complaining about leakage on the 4oz traditional bottles so i am not the only one. I am hoping one if the ones they send do not leak!! I have milk everywhere and on my babys outfit and its annoying to have to change him!!!! It's been the only bottle he's been accepting for the pas 7 months. I have previously used Dr. brown as a nanny, when I became pregnant I knew I wanted to use them for my baby. I used the normal 4 oz clear bottles until my little one hit 4 oz and we opened our box of lavender bottles. Such a disappointment! The vent doesn't work with the travel pieces due to the purple vent having a piece that goes upwards torward the nipple piece. Also the milk doesn't flow as easy so I have to take the bottle out of my little ones mouth mid feeding and turn it up right for the milk to get in trapped. For our second pregnancy we tried avent brand, our son didn't take well to them. I think it was because the bottles and nipple part is so large/wide he may have had issues latching on. so we decided to purchase a single dr. Brown bottle. After the first attempt my son took very well to it. The small nipple was so much easier for him. so we bought the bundle with various bottle sizes and nipples. I especially like the fact that the bottles fit most hand pumps so it makes it easier to just pump straight into the bottle. Especially when traveling I don't have to have extra bottles just for the pump. I recommend this brand to my sister, After she explained to me how she was struggling for her daughter to feed from a bottle. My niece took very well to a dr. Brown bottle. My son is 2.5 months old and this bottle works best because the nipple isn't too big. The only glitch (which happens with lots of bottles) is that if one of the bottles tips in the bag, it spills everywhere. Bummer! But all in all, I wouldn't choose another bottle. I discovered that the thicker the formula , the higher the nipple should be. I see some parents are having a rough time with the nipples but my advice is go up a level on your nipples and if the bottles are leaking, it would be the filter.
