<span itemprop="description">The gate looks lovely and initially worked well, although it’s very loud when it self-closes. Mine stopped self-closing from the direction that has the lock open feature after one week of normal use. The gate just remains stuck on that side instead, at whatever position you let it go. Toys R Us refused an exchange or refund because they said I used the gate. They also refused to provide me with any information that would help me to fix it. Utterly disappointing. I could have purchased a much less expensive gate that doesn’t self close.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Great gate. We already had one that worked well to keep our one dog partitioned in the kitchen when we left the house. We bought another one for a new dog for a separate area, and he was able to jump it right away and they were so great with their return policy and allowing us to return the second gate. This is a great gate for narrow openings, and it's also the tallest narrow gate that we found out there, which is a great thing (and I'd say good for most dogs, this second dog just happens to be an amazingly high jumper ... ) Study, well made gate, easy to install (we only used the tension installation and it works well).</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have been in touch with manufacturer one year warranty guarantee and they won't honor it. Their stance is always the same (as in some responses) that it is installed wrong by consumer. The gate is spring loaded to stay open. it will stay open one way, but not the other. The hold back point is worn down after two months of installation. That means it WAS working. Now it is not. this has nothing to do with the installation. one critical piece is made of plastic and it did not hold up at all.</span>

The auto close feature is great but the gate is overall very sturdy. I had closed the gate before and my little one tried to push it open and can't. The lock is tight and secure and my little one can't open it. As for adults, it's pretty easy to open with pushing and lifting up the gate. I would definitely recommend this product.</span>

So I had to fix it before I could even try to use it. There was nothing wrong with the packaging it came in so I don't know if it got damage while it was on it's way in shipping to meor if it was something that happen at the plant before they packaged it into the box. Once I got it all setup and in a door in our house I noticed that I had to help it latch when it would swing back closed. Also the mechanism for the lock is really flimsy, wobbly and wasn't made high quality or throughout really good in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone in my opinion but maybe I just got the lemon out of the bunch of them. I like the swinging door with the magnet closure mechanism, adjustable legs with permanent discs for the legs that get secure to the wall, how study the rest of the gate is made and a pleasant color for the gate.</span>

It has a wider gate opening than my other pressure mounted gate and can swing open both ways. You can see in the picture I attached how much wider it is (my Boston gate is black and my older gate it white). It is also much easier to release one handed. Just slide your thumb and lift up. The auto close feature is also very nice and if you push the gate all the way open, you can lock it in that position if you want it to stay open for a long period of time when you don't need to use it as a gate, but don't want to remove it, either.</span>

Since travel between the kitchen and the living room has to happen multiple times a day it is great that this gate can be opened with one hand. We used the pressure mounting feature since we are currently renting this house and want to be able to take the gate with us without damage to the walls. My son has tried a few times to pull up on the gate and it has not moved at all. I also like the stay open feature so that once the little one is in bed we are able to leave the gate open for the adults. The mounting cups made this much easier to position. It did take two adults to get everything situated but that was expected in putting up a sturdy gate. This is definitely something that we would purchase again should the need arise.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We shopped around for a while looking for an affordable sturdy gate that would last some time for a growing family and are glad we chose the Chelsea by Dreambaby. I'm only giving this a 3 star rating because there is no 3.5. We love the gate but wish there were more color and finish options other than black or white. And understand that it is a tension mount gate, but it did get hard to tighten the tension knobs by hand when putting it up. With that said, we do love this Chelsea gate. With two little ones and a third on the way, we needed a strong sturdy gate that would hold up to the abuse of a growing family. I can open this gate with one hand and a babe on the hip! Yet, this gate will close behind me and lock so I don't have to worry. It's really a sturdy gate holding up to crawlers learning to pull up on everything to motor around. My husband is a kind of 'step over' kind of guy, being tall, but we do like the 'open door' feature as this is in a high traffic area, the main room of the house, so there is a lot of ins and outs. It's nice to have the hands free when you are carrying all the baby bags, seats, etc. back and forth. This feature is great for bringing in the groceries too.</span>

First of all, purchasing as a kit saved money over shopping around for gates and extenders to fit my large doorway. Secondly, with the included extensions, this gate can be used in other areas of the house if I need to move it. I don't have any kids but wanted a gate to keep the dogs out of my bedroom until doggy 'bedtime'. This way they are not tracking mud into my bedroom or chewing treats and toys apart on my bed - messy! The gate shuts automatically so I don't have to worry about them sneaking in! The gate was pretty easy to put up as it doesn't require any tools. It really looks nice in either my modern bedroom décor on one side or the natural hues and woodsy living room vibe on the other. Although my big dogs 'respect' this gate and don't try to knock it down, it is a very sturdy metal gate.</span>

<span itemprop="description">With previous great experiences with Dreambaby products, I knew that when our baby started to move around the house it was time to research gates. My wife and I wanted a sturdy and functional gate. We also needed two for both ends of our stairs. We decided on the Chelsea gate based on height and strength. The gates arrived in perfect condition and nicely packaged. I knew that I would have to make some adjustments due to the staircase handrails, no fault by Dreambaby. For the bottom of the stairs I had to remove a piece of molding and the handrail, which I easily recut and re-installed the handrail. The gate installed just as detailed in the instructions. Please don't worry about the gate being bent. As you tighten all the gaps close to function perfectly. The top of the stairwell was a different install. The way the wall and handrail were built I needed to place the gate flush with the last step. This may not be manufacture approved, but the base bar is not in the way and also functions perfectly. Our baby has tried to test the gate by grapping and shaking the gate, and the gate does not move. It's sturdy just like we wanted. I enjoyed installing the gate and am thankful to Dreambaby for an outstanding product that most importantly keeps our baby safe. What more could you ask for?</span>

<span itemprop="description">A little tricky to install but very sturdy! We have this at the top of our stairs. You get used to the bottom bar quickly and I no longer worry about tripping over it.</span>

It's simple to install, nice to look at, pocket friendly, & super safe. Has a ton of user friendly features, & is easily cleaned when sticky fingers wrap around the bars. <span itemprop="description">We have the Dawson Gates which we love but needed a wider gate for another doorway. This Chelsea Gate Kit also gives us the option of using the gate with extensions in other areas - a win, win! This is another winning gate by Dreambaby but since it doesnt come in silver to match the Dawson gate, we choose the black for a better color match.We absolutely love that this gate has ALL the same features as the Dawson just the style is a little different. It auto closes and has the hold open features as well! This is another heavy duty metal gate that should last us for years to come. This gate also was super easy to install. No drills/tools are needed, you just install and turn the tension knobs to tighten the gate into your doorframe. Happy repeat customer!</span>

Are there recepticle cups screwed into the walls for the four pressure mounts, or do the four pressure mounts seat directly on the wall? I need to know if any parts have to be hard attached to the wall.

It is possible to install this against a wall and a banister as long as the banister has enough surface area for the tension bolts. You may prefer to use a gate adaptor. Please feel free to reach out to us directly through our online contact forms for installation assistance.
