It is great because you don't need the insert when they are newborns. It works from newborn right to toddler. My little one, loved it instantly. For the first couple of months, she would fall asleep in it within the first 5 minutes. Super comfortable, we put our toddler in it (26lbs) and climbed the cliff top trail at bon echo. You definitely knew she was there, but the straps were not digging in at all. It's very comfortable to wear, and easy to use once you watch the short video about how to wear it. LOVE THIS. Only thing is the cover is black, which isn't all that nice in the hot summer sun, having the black cover over your baby, is just hot. Other then that though I wouldn't change a thing! And don't waste your money on the cheap carriers, I had 2 of them. However, I don't like the waistband as much as on my ergo performance. It's not as comfortable, the stiff material sits right on my hip bone and the parts that are just strap with no padding dig in. The performance definitely has a better waistband. I also wish the shoulders could cinch a little tighter - I have narrow shoulders and I have to tighten the shoulder straps all the way, but then it's still too loose, so u have to tighten the back clip which puts more weight on my back and hurts in faster. Only negative is that this carrier does not have the forward facing option when we are ready for that. I am so happy I waited and bought the Ergobaby Adapt!!! This carrier is super supportive for my back and shoulders. My baby loves the seated design and head padding. I've used other carriers before but this one blows them all away! The fact that my baby can literally grow from newborn to toddler with no additional insert is fantastic. Plus, the price is very reasonable, comparitivly speaking and is well worth the investment.
