They both love it! We have a Tula carrier which is great too, but doesn&rsquo;t do front facing and too hot for summer. Since we retired our Doona, I lost a stroller and we have a small car so carrying a stroller in the car takes up a lot of room. Anyhow, my son is 9 months and even though he is not a newborn, this does accommodate one by securing their head. You can wear baby in the front facing you, away from you, in your back or positioned in your hip. I do love that the carrier has age options on positioning the baby&rsquo;s hips. Overall this is worth the money so you don&rsquo;t hurt baby in the long run with hip dysplasia. The packaging was neat and intentional. The ergo baby itself is so well though out - easy to figure out and adjust to my sizing (and love the strap loops so excess straps aren&rsquo;t hanging all over the place!) and hood in the zipper compartment is genius. And as a Fanny pack lover, I so Appreciate the little pouch at the bottom for my keys, phone and other small essentials. So excited to put my newborn in it and use it as she grows and for future babies. As an adult, i wouldn&rsquo;t want that fabric against my neck and face, so i think it&rsquo;s especially inappropriate for babies. Unsure why this was overlooked when the other carriers have soft cotton to support the head? My baby gets a rash and marks on her neck and the side of her face. My daughter was born breech, and the doctors had concerns that her hips were not developing properly in their sockets. She had an ultrasound at 9 days old, we were told to double diaper her and come back for a follow up. At 8 weeks, we were told her hips had &ldquo;fixed themselves&rdquo; and we didn&rsquo;t need to worry anymore. Meanwhile, as our baby grew we learned that she loved being in the Ergo. It would have often calm her when she was fussy, and put her to sleep. We used it almost constantly for quite sometime. Fast forward to her 9mo well appointment and the doctor ordered a final X-ray to follow up on her hips. Her left hip showed mild hip dysplasia, so off we went to the children orthopedics specialist at UVA. The specialist was dumbfounded. The radiologist who told us her hips were normal at 8 weeks was wildly incorrect. Turns out Imogene should have been placed in a Pavlock harness to correct her hips as a newborn. And yet, based on the X-ray at 9mo her right hip was miraculously normal and her left hip showed only mild, and quite treatable hip dysplasia. The doctor said it was nothing short of a miracle that we had arrived at this X-ray after seeing her 8weeks images. She asked if we used a carrier frequently, and we said yes, we used the ergo almost constantly before she was able to crawl around on her own. She said in using the ergo we had unknowingly braced her hips in the correct position and ultimately prevented the dislocated hips and the need for surgery that was expected based on that 8wo ultrasound. I want to thank you so much for your product that not only comforted my baby, but seemed to treat her as well. It had been used like a workhorse for 2 children that both enjoyed it from birth to 2 years over the course of a decade. I wanted a new one because it was old, a little rough around the edges, and faded with time. This carrier is a pale comparison to the comfort and ease of use of the original model. The bulky pads hurt my shoulders, the buckles are giant and painfully difficult to snap. I cannot even snap them on my own while wearing the carrier, that's how hard they are to buckle! It hurts my back after only a short time of use, and most unfortunately of all, my baby seems very uncomfortable in it and cannot nurse in it. I wish I had never bought it; I cannot return it since I bought it in January and no longer have box, tags, etc. I am back to using my original version even though it is very tattered and worn. Our little one grew really fast and I was having shooting back pain from carrying her around basically all day.
