The seatbelt guide is a great idea, but should the shoulder belt shift to the side of the guide or get stuck between the tabs, the belt then sticks and cannot retract back leaving a child with a pile of seatbelt in their lap. Not helpful. This has only occurred a couple of times, but a couple times too many in my book. Especially if this should happen with a hard brake or a car crash. Called Evenflo and was told that my child needs to remain still in the seat and not move. I know that, and my child knows that, but clearly the woman on the phone does not have a 4 year old. They will move in the seat whether they are reaching for something on the seat next to them or trying to look out the window at something that has caught their eye. Then the woman on the phone recommended that I activate the locking mechanism on the seatbelt and then the child will not be able to move. That just didn't seem right to me, so I reviewed my VW manual which specifically states that the locking mechanism of the belt should NEVER be used to hold a child into a booster seat. I called VW to confirm that I was understanding that correctly and she concurred that the locking mechanism of the belt would cause severe injury to a child during a hard brake or crash. The seatbelt is designed to provide some give in these incidences to absorb some of the energy from impact. What? If I wanted to put the seat together myself I would've bought it from Ikea. I have only had it a week and am returning it today. It doesn't stay straight like our Graco does, it is always tipping to one side and the belt paths are horrible. The slit to take the belt on and off is so narrow it is awful. Also the wing things on the back are very flimsy and I always feel like they are going to break as I lean over to buckle and unbuckle. It was very easy to put together and fits nicely in my SUV. He loves the thought of the lights even though he hasn't had he opportunity to use them. The cup holder is a little flimsy with just an elastic strap. The strap moves up and down and it caused my son's snack to spill everywhere. The seatbelt fits across his lap and shoulders perfectly and he is 6 years old. He says it is very comfortable so far. This is something I would gladly purchase again. Our overall experience has been positive. I had some issues with assembly but nothing that would keep me from doing it again. Pros: Stylish look - We have the pink and black version and like the colors. The bulk of the chair is black which hides messes that are inevitable with kids with the pink accents. The pink is very vibrant. Lights in the head rest area - This caused my girls to argue over who was going to use the chair. They are a nice feature for nighttime riding in the car. While not necessary, it definitely was a selling point for my girls who don't like that they have to be in boosters. Lightweight but Sturdy - This makes moving the seat around so much easier. I have a smaller car and the heavier, bulky boosters just are hard to maneuver in the car. Even though it is lightweight, it definitely feels sturdy and strong. Compact - This booster is not crazy wide like some of the other seats we have. This is great when you need more than one in a row. We like the cup holders and I like that the style of the cup holders doesn't add to its width. Installation - Very easy to get in the car. The seat belt positioner over the shoulder is much easier to use than a lot of other chairs we have had. It slides in and out easily enough my daughters can do it on their own while remaining adequately secured. Cons: Assembly - While it was that hard to assemble, it did take me longer to put together than I thought it would. I had some trouble getting the two main pieces to click together. Most of the issue was that it would slide across the ground when I put pressure on it. I had to use my legs to kind of hold it into place. It still only took me about 15 - 20 minutes to get together. I was skeptical about how good it would be since it was not an &quot;expensive&quot; booster seat. And I was VERY pleasantly surprised!!! This booster goes to show that expensive isn't always the best. This seat is awesome. My daughter found it to be very comfortable and she LOVED the lights. She is always wanting the overhead lights on at night in the car and they are very distracting to myself while driving and other drivers. These lights are not distracting at all but she found them to be perfect. The seat was incredibly easy to put together and install in the car. I like that the cup holders will hold an assortment of cup sizes instead of just a standard size. The fabric is very soft and wipes clean very easily. She was using a LBB but I wasn't very comfortable about her not having the back support. She tends to fall asleep during any car ride that exceeds 20 minutes &amp; would slump forward in her LBB. With the new Big Kid booster she no longer slumps and actually rests her head on the head support. She hasn't had cause to use the lights yet but I am really happy that I won't have to hear, &quot;Mom! The colors are wonderful, so pretty! Assembly was incredibly easy, took 5mins max. After the first car trip with the new seat my daughter was in love. She could see out of the windows perfectly, felt like a big girl, &amp; said it was super comfortable. Our only issue with this seat is using the regular seatbelt, for some reason the guides make it very hard to use. I often have to get back there &amp; do it for her.
