Installation was easy and quick. The car seat and base were lightweight but felt flimsy. Having the extra base was a huge win. It made swapping between my wife's car and my car an absolute breeze. I felt our child was safe in the car seat and didn't think twice about it. I let a friend use it for the weekend as well to get some extra feedback and they loved it. Easy to clean. LIGHT as a feather to carry. The only downside is it is not the most attractive. I like practical but my wife likes the style and therefore the car seat was not a win for our family. To each their own. But this is honestly a product I feel that you would get what you pay for. Inexpensive, so no bells and whistles, but not cheaply made. It's extremely lightweight and easy to get in and out of the base. We were honestly a little skeptical due to the very low price, but it has performed well. It truly is lightweight which makes a huge difference. The base was very easy to install with the anchors, similar to other car seats. However, unlike our other more expensive car seat base, this Evenflo car seat base was much lighter weight, leading to more ease with transferring from vehicle to vehicle. The fabric was also a material that was very easy to wipe, a feature I learned was very convenient as our last car seat was difficult to clean. I had read others reviews about the difficulty of the handle to operate and was skeptical of this feature. However, I found the design easy to use and even advantageous to others as you can adjust it with just one hand. One thing that this car seat lacks is an insert for infants. Without it, there is too much room without neck support for little ones. Our other car seat has a simple insert that would make this car seat more comfortable and make parents feel more at ease putting their little ones in it. I have no real positive things to say about it other than the seat was very light weight and spacious for my 7 month old. However, it is pretty bulky and it feels like a big hunk of cheap plastic. I did not enjoy the car seat apart from the base because the weight distribution is off-balanced, making it inconvenient to take my baby out of the seat because the whole carseat topples forward when I do so. The way the handle adjusts is not intuitive, but it is a pretty cool concept. The execution of the handle needs to be perfected because it has the potential to be a convenient &quot;one-handed&quot; operation (I think the poor weight distribution is also to blame for this adjustment issue). Lastly, it is also a bit concerning that there is no real protection for the side of my baby's head. All in all, considering the price, you get what you pay for and I would only recommend this for financial purposes. It is so convenient that you can just push it down to move it back and forth. Putting it together was a bit on the hard side. I had some trouble with the canopy. After I put it in, I couldn't remove it to fix it. I can't seem to find instructions to do so in the included manual. I will keep trying. It fits nicely into the included base. It did take me a few minutes to figure how they fit together. Taking them apart isn't straight forward either but I will again figure it out. Overall I have no major complaints and plan on enjoying the use of this carseat and base. It looked great and I liked the neutral colors of it. I can save it to use for another baby since it's not just bold boy or girl colors. The seat is so much lighter compared to my other seat. I can easily carry my daughter in it without issue and she is about 18 pounds. It was easy to carry and hold onto with the longer handle. My daughter seemed comfortable and I liked the extra padding for added comfort. She hasn't fussed while being in it. How to adjust the handle was a bit confusing at first but it is so much more convenient to let down with one hand. The plastic makes the seat lighter but I feel like it doesn't feel as durable. However, rhe safety features were not comprised which are my top concerns when choosing a car seat. We have a high quality car seat we use on a daily basis, but it&rsquo;s heavy and often a pain to install so we like to have a backup that we can use in our secondary vehicle if necessary or put in Grandma or Grandpa&rsquo;s car for a short ride. The Evenflo NatureMax car seat is a great option for that because it&rsquo;s really light and easy to carry. We wouldn&rsquo;t want to use it as our main car seat because it does feel a bit cheaper and low quality (what you get for the price). Our 6 month old doesn&rsquo;t fit very snuggly in the seat, and there is quite a bit of room on his sides. A smaller infant would probably have a hard time feeling very secure in there. The installation is also a bit tricky because the straps the latch on the the actual seat of the car require you to pinch them to open and close them which is a little difficult. The seat is also quite lengthy&mdash;we had to scoot the front seat up farther than we do with our main car seat in order to be able to attach it to the base. The car seat was nice to carry around while running errands because it&rsquo;s way lighter than other car seats we&rsquo;ve tried, but it doesn&rsquo;t provide as much peace of mind on the car ride as the more heavy-duty options. I would recommend this car seat to someone if they were on a budget and looking for a cheaper option or a backup seat. I really want to keep that in mind while writing this review. It&rsquo;s as barebones a carseat as it gets (which isn&rsquo;t necessarily a bad thing.) The install was super simple, goes in like any other seat would, nothing crazy or out of the ordinary (which is great when the person installing it might not have much experience.). The seat itself is aesthetically simple, clean, pleasing with it black exterior, canopy and handle, and a black and gray geometric print seat cover. I like that the cover can go over the sides when using the base and easily slip off and fold in when using the seatbelt path to secure it in place. I love the concept of a single hand adjusting handlebar, but I feel like the execution fell a little flat due to how hard you have to push down/in to release the lock to adjust the bar. I wound up using one hand to push the bar and the other to push the seat to get it to move which negates the whole single hand concept. I do love the affordability of the seat, but at what cost? I have a small 3 month old who could have really benefitted from an infant insert. The inside of the seat is really roomie (which is great as your baby grows), but I found myself rolling a muslin swaddle to cradle his head. I also fervently wished for strap cushions/covers. Mamas, you know how snug those straps are supposed to be pulled. They left little marks on his poor neck. I had to be really mindful to pull the neck of his shirt over to be between him and the straps every time I buckled him in. The last thing I need to mention is the click-in function of the seat into the base. It&rsquo;s a little funky, and if I&rsquo;m being totally honest (which I am), clunky. The base has this little hook at the foot that you have to angle the lip of the seat to slip under and then click the bottom of the seat into the base. The click-in isn&rsquo;t smooth and easy either. You have to really get that angle for the hook right or you won&rsquo;t be lined up just right to click in. Overall, I&rsquo;m really glad it&rsquo;s a secondary seat so I don&rsquo;t have to use it everyday. My biggest gripe is how difficult it is to get in and out of the base. I feel like I give my baby whiplash because I have to wiggle and tilt the car seat so much to get it in and out. The handle is difficult to push down to change positions, but otherwise is sturdy enough to carry the car seat just fine. It&rsquo;s also pretty difficult to actually buckle my baby in it, the straps don&rsquo;t release far enough, my baby is a little on the chunkier side though. I do really love how light it is! The car seat with the base attached were both lighter than my old carseat alone! I also like the design of it, it looks very sleek in my all-black SUV, I love it. Now that I've tested out both, my expensive one is out of the car for good! With my first child, I bought an expensive brand name car seat that could click in/out of stroller, etc. I thought I wanted everything to be interchangeable and that more expensive meant it was better, but found that it was really heavy and awkward to carry and I didn't click in on the stroller as much as I thought I would. I even traveled across the country twice with it and wasn't impressed. So cumbersome. So this time around, I was actually looking for something that was easier to manage and with the smallest profile as I now have two kids to load in the car, my husband, and a dog. With my previous car seat, even in our large car, the front seats had to be quite far forward to fit the brand name car seat (my husband was very uncomfortable at 6'2&quot;). It fits much better in my car and I find it easier to be on the go with baby with this car seat. Even my husband was impressed! It is easy to place on base or install without the base. I didn't find any challenges with this. The best thing about this car seat is the weight and I don't think any brand out there can beat the low weight with the same safety standards as the Evenflo NurtureMax Infant Car Seat. My second son also looks much more comfortable. With my prior expensive car seat, even with all the adjustments recommended, I felt my son (both of them actually) always had his chin on his chest. He is happier (seriously!) and looks so much more comfortable in this new car seat. His head and neck position look much better. And you can't beat the price. The weight and price shocked me! I wish I had bought this infant car seat the first time around. Cons: Doesn't have all the fancy levers, buttons, levels as the more expensive baby car seats out there. It was just as easier or easier to install in my opinion however. Also, the materials aren't as luxe (some cheaper materials with the cover and umbrella portion), but this didn't bother me at all and did not change my mind about the product. It is incredibly lightweight, has a large sun canopy, and one handed carry handle operation just to name a few of the great features. However, I&rsquo;ve been conditioned to believe that heavier is safer making me appreciate even more the fact that it meets all federal safety standards and has been rollover tested, temperature tested, and structural integrity tested. Because of this I have peace of mind that my baby will be safe. One feature I found unique and great to have is the strap configuration for smaller babies. Although I haven&rsquo;t used it considering my baby is 5 months old, it would have been a great feature for him as a newborn. The thing I don&rsquo;t like is the buckles. Trying to fit the two pieces together and getting them secured while dealing with a squirming baby that doesn&rsquo;t want to be in the seat proves to be difficult. The base installed with ease in both of our vehicles and I found it to fit the seat of our cars very snugly and securely. The only thing I don&rsquo;t like about it is the small hook you have to slide the front end of the car seat into to get it to snap into the base. Also very difficult to get out. I couldn&rsquo;t even get it in or out myself, and then my husband was able to figure it out, with some force. This is the worst with a sleeping baby. Also the strap to attach it to the anchors was barely long enough, so it was very difficult to attach. On other car seats, usually the anchor strap extends farther out and then you can cinch it tighter. I also don&rsquo;t really like how the bottom buckle has to fit together first. Just one extra step when you&rsquo;re juggling kids. Also there is no head support at all. We had to put in a blanket around her head to keep it up. Pros: Plastic buckles are kind of nice because they don&rsquo;t get too hot or cold. The way the handle goes down is kind of cool. You push it and then can move it. This allows you to move it with one hand, while many other car seats require two. But it does require a bit of a whack to get it to move. The straps are easy to tighten and overall it is pretty lightweight. Overall, the difficulty getting it in and out of the base, as well as install made this a car seat I would not recommend. I was shocked the first time I picked it up and even more impressed when I picked it up with my daughter in it. Using this will definitely help prevent long term arm/back pain from carrying it to/from the car and into stores without a stroller FOR SURE! It's very roomy in a good way- doesn't feel like my daughter is squished in there and has room to grow with it. In addition to the carseat being light, so is the base. Plus, it's so nice to have an extra base for my husband's car so we don't have to try to install it each time. As I've been using it more and more, I find it easy to maneuver the carseat in and out of the base, though at first it was a little tricky.* Together, these two are a no frills, simple and lightweight combo that anyone can use! The only two things I wasn't 100% satisfied with was the canopy/shade (it is really flimsy and thin) and the lack of visible button to release/loosen the straps. Because I'm used to my current carseat that has a visible button, it's a bit of a transition to this seat where the button is underneath the cover and hard to find- there's a lot of pushing around randomly to try to find it. *I highly recommend, especially seasoned parents, that you read the manual thoroughly so you can really understand how it works. It's easy as a parent who has used carseats before to believe you can 'figure it out,' but there were a few parts that really took some time for us to put together (locating the loosen button, how to move the handle, etc).
