I really like this carseat! We took it on a road trip and my 6-month-old baby was really comfortable riding in it. The sensor gave me peace of mind. The temperature feature really made me feel safer while traveling during the hot summer months. The reminders to take a break every 2 hours were helpful. Occasionally I would get alerts that my baby was in the car when she was not in the car but was actually in the stroller nearby. The stroller feature was really useful when we went to get coffee and when we checked into our hotel. We actually didn&rsquo;t bring any other strollers with us on our trip and it worked out great. It is a little bit difficult to get the hang of converting the car seat into a stroller and then folding the wheels up again afterward, but the more I did it the smoother I was able to do it. In my opinion they all have there pros; Safety features, compatibility with strollers &amp; seat bases, washable covers, accessories. And they all have cons; heavy, &amp;bulky, difficult and time consuming to connect to a compatible stroller, strollers take up so much cargo space. Hard to get in and out of base. I was skeptical when I received the Shyft DualRide Infant Car Seat and Stroller Combo. I expected the infant seat plus wheels to be heavy. &amp; it was a little heavier then say a graco 360 infant seat. BUT you can leave the wheels in the base &amp; use Just the infant seat!!! Wich is about the same weight wise. I love how easy it is to take the seat in and out of the base, with or without the &quot;wheels&quot; or stroller feature. The infant seat itself is nice and soft with a washable cover. One of the smallest weight(3lb)and height(15.7in) requirements too. Making this seat a great option for premature babies. Some models come with a cargo bag that clips on in seconds. I was able to easily fit some diapers wipes, rash cream &amp; bottles. There's even an attachable cup holder for mom! Another feature i love is the carpet base itself has attachable wheel wells to keep or car clean. This infant seat also has a Bluetooth smart chest buckle. Its capable of alerting you to four different events. - your child's chest clip is unbuckled. -your child has been seated for an extended period of time. -if your child is alone of the car. - your vehicle is at an unsafe temperature for your child. These features i can't really speak to as I didn't use them. Its just something I didn't end up using. Overall I absolutely love my babies Shyft DualRide Infant Car Seat and Stroller Combo. It makes it so convenient when im out and about with my other kiddos! I am a Mom of two and wish that something like this existed when I had my first. The ability to pop this baby out of the car and have it transform into a stroller with the push of a button is such a game changer. No longer do I have to lug and load the base of my travel system to save my arms from the weight of the carrier! The wheels on this are definitely not for off-roading but I see this to be used for errand running (and what seem to be endless Dr. visits in those first few years). I am a walker/ hiker so I use an alterrain stroller instead of a travel system for that anyways. The Shyft has a SensorSafe chest clip that is genius. It alerts you if the clip isn&rsquo;t buckled, if your child may be too hot or cold, if they have been in the car too long or if your child was left in a vehicle. You can even add family members in the app so that they get alerts too. This gives me such peace of mind. The car seat was very easy to install. I was able to install it with the LATCH anchors in 5 minutes and didn&rsquo;t need my husband to come sit on it to get it tight enough to not wiggle in place which is a first. The carrier is very easy to attach and take off and there are even wheel covers on the base to prevent dirt transfer on your car seats. I was a bit curious how the seat would fit in my small SUV but was pleasantly surprised that it really didn&rsquo;t take up a ton of space. There is also an option to remove just the carrier and leave the wheels in the car but because the stroller feature is so convenient I find myself using it all the time. Even if I had stairs to maneuver I just repositioned the handle and pressed the button to collapse the wheels. Another awesome feature is the huge sun canopy on the carrier. It is by far the largest I have seen. Overall I highly recommend the Shyft. Ok I&rsquo;m going to be completely honest here. I&rsquo;m a second time mom, I just had a baby 3 months ago. Having a toddler (2 year old) and a 3 month old is hard when it comes to traveling around. I needed something that would help me when it comes to getting the baby in and out of the car fast and having to lug around a huge stroller to attach the car seat to was always a struggle of mine. While I am so grateful to have this car seat/stroller combo because it makes getting around so much easier for me; there are some kinks that evenflo needs to work out. My biggest concern is when trying to get stroller back into the car seat mode when the baby is inside of it, it is extremely difficult to do. I push the button and lean the stroller seat forward and the wheels will not go down at all. I have to physically push the wheels down with my hands while holding a heavy baby forward and the transition is not smooth at all. It jerks so hard and falls down aggressively that it startles my child every time. He will cry and get so scared that I no longer put it down while he&rsquo;s in it. Now don&rsquo;t get me wrong, the whole concept is great.. a car seat that turns into a stroller!? Totally a win if you travel a lot and don&rsquo;t want to carry a stroller in your trunk. The buttons on my stroller get jammed a lot and it&rsquo;s quite frustrating. These are some kinks that evenflo needs to work on. The transition needs to flow better and be smoother. The quality of the car seat is wonderful. It&rsquo;s so comfortable and my son loves being in it. When outside he does sweat a lot in the seat because there is a lot of cushion. You definitely need a stroller fan to help keep your baby cool as the stroller cover is a bit thin and see through. So the sun does get in a little. Please note that it is VERY heavy when your baby is inside the car seat/stroller. Having to lift this bad boy up into my car is seriously a workout. You definitely need a lot of strength to carry it up and put it in its base. The base was very easy to install and is very sturdy. If you have a small car it can affect the person sitting in front of you. We did have to move our seat up to have it fit and my husband complains a little because he feels his feet are cramped. I will give this 3 out 5 stars, if evenflo works on the buttons not jamming and having the wheels release in a much smoother fashion then I will give this car seat/stroller combo 5 stars. The stroller rides smooth on flat surfaces but if there are any bumps it&rsquo;s quite bumpy for the baby, and the handle bar could be a bit more sturdier. Feels a little flimsy and cheap. The safety sensor makes it really nice for parents who worry about their kids a lot. They send you notifications to your phone and you do have to manually dismiss them. This is great because you just never know if one day you&rsquo;ll be that parent that forgets their child in the car by accident. There are a ton of pros really only a couple minor cons that come to mind. It is so nice to be able to transition my baby's seat into a stroller without having to move him out of it. It's not winter here, but I know it'll be especially nice when it gets cold outside and my little guy is all bundled up in his seat. It is so easy to use and I love that you can pull the carseat out without the wheels (makes it much lighter to carry) or with them if you know you won't be rolling it anywhere. The base attaches super easily with the latch system, and even has a spot for the wheels so your vehicle seats are protected. Two things I don't love: 1. The cup holder. It's nice that you can add that on, but it doesn't hold very many styles of cups. It has to be a very small, short cup. It seems to work better for my kids' water bottles, but I want it for my own drinks. 2. The stroller is VERY light weight. This seems like it should be a pro, and it mostly is (of course you don't want to carry something super heavy), but it tips easily when pushed, It seems to be susceptible to tipping when going over even just a bumpy sidewalk. My favorite thing about it is the space saving element. We don't have a very big vehicle, so when we travel it is such an amazing feeling to know we don't need to pack an extra stroller! Being able to technically store the stroller underneath the car seat is genius! Transitioning from a car seat to a stroller was easy. We did it many times over the week. Installing the car seat in a vehicle was easy too, and the safety features put my mind at ease (especially the anti-rebound base and chest clip with a temperature sensor). My favorite feature of this car seat was not losing the trunk space to a big, bulky stroller. The installation was super simple after through the well described instruction and the latch system made easy. The Shyft DualRide Infant Car Seat and Stroller Combo has proved this theory wrong. I was always curious about these types of carseats, so I was very excited when the Stellar Testing Panel sent me one to try out. I figured it would be a nice option for a spare carseat. However, it quickly usurped my baby's original (well-researched and expensive) carseat as my primary carseat. As a carseat, it is excellent. All carseats approved for use in the US have to pass strict regulations, but the safest carseat is one you use correctly. This carseat is pretty dummy proof. The base installation is easy and self explanatory. It only took a minute. The straps provide the snuggest fit out of any infant carseat I have tried. The shoulder steps are perfect at not getting in the chest buckle's way so that the chest buckle can be correctly placed at armpit level. The straps are so much easier to loosen and tighten than any other carseat I have used. The shade provides so much more than the standard coverage, which is especially useful in stroller mode. It does take some practice taking the stroller legs out and putting them back, but the result is more that worth the learning curve. With the stroller legs on, the carseat is pretty heavy, however there is no reason to be holding it in that mode. Without the legs, it weighs the same as a normal infant carseat. Even if this was just a carseat, I would be very happy to have this as my primary carseat, but this is so much more than a carseat. With just the pull of a lever, the legs drop down and the carseat becomes a stroller. Suddenly errands became a lot more manageable. The ride is smooth enough that my four year old can push my baby on a rough brick sidewalk. He loves that the handle can lower to his height. I also love the option of the detachable wheels as sometimes you just don&rsquo;t need a stroller. The handle has two length options. I found both worked fine for me. I am 5&rsquo;6&rdquo;. After a couple of months of lugging an infant car seat around everywhere (and I mean EVERYWHERE!), I decided to make the switch to the Evenflo Shyft DualRide, and I haven&rsquo;t looked back since! First off, the functionality of this car seat/ stroller is second to none! I knew that I would love the fact that the stroller wheels folded out from the car seat, but I was unprepared for how easy the folding and unfolding would be! You literally pull one lever and the wheels fold out, and another lever, put pressure on the outside of the wheels, and they fold right up! It is shockingly simple! With three kids in all sorts of activities, schools, therapies, etc., you can&rsquo;t put a price on the convenience of this seat! I also LOVE the fact that the stroller wheels can detach from the car seat! When I began looking at car seat/ stroller combos, I was worried about having to lug the whole thing into grocery stores when shopping, etc. This was the primary reason I didn&rsquo;t choose a combo-seat at first! I do the majority of grocery (and other) shopping solo with kids in tow, so without another adult to push the stroller, I did not know how much space the car seat/ stroller would take up in a cart. Evenflo solved this problem, and made it incredibly simple to leave the wheels behind! Now, when I go shopping, I simply pop the car seat out sans wheels, and plop it into the cart! I also leave the wheels in the car when transferring the seat into our house. No dirt from outside coming into the house, and MUCH easier to put to the side when not in use! As a self-proclaimed &ldquo;car seat nut,&rdquo; I was also thrilled to see that the base had a belt lock-off! A window on the lock-off door changed from red to green, indicating that the door was sufficiently locked, and the base is ROCK SOLID. After three weeks of install, it has not moved at all, and is just as locked in place as day one. This, to me, is one of the most important features of this seat! Convenience is important, but safety is essential! I also love the anti-rebound bar feature on the base&mdash;it is built in, so no install is necessary! As a bonus, this seat also has the sensor chest clip. Originally, this was not on my &lsquo;must-have&rsquo; list, but I have to say, it is an excellent feature! After setting up the app on your phone, the chest clip notifies you if your baby has been left in the car or in their seat for an extended period of time. It also alerts to high temperatures! With hot temperatures coming our way, I love the extra peace of mind! I often do not realize how warm the car is when we first get in, and this will also give me a good gauge for how long to cool the car before putting baby inside. As a bonus, all accessories (storage bag, cup holder, wheel covers that attach to the base, EVERYTHING!) come with the purchase of the seat. It truly is a fantastic value for everything you are getting. Overall, this seat/ stroller is a total win! Aesthetically, functionally, and safety-wise, you cannot beat the Evenflo Shyft DualRide! I only wish I would have taken the plunge sooner! I got this stroller when my baby was 7 months old &amp; about 20 lbs so it is really heavy for me to lift into the car, no problem at all for my husband! He is almost too big for the car seat now at 8 months old, so I think the car seat itself is smaller than some others! That being said, I&rsquo;ve been using it ever since I got it. It&rsquo;s so convenient to just take the car seat out of the car and pop the wheels down and just start strollering! It&rsquo;s so fast! It&rsquo;s very very easy to turn it from a car seat into a stroller. Turning it into a car seat from the stroller is a little harder for me, it&rsquo;s easy if there&rsquo;s a curb to push the wheels on! It just takes a little longer than the videos I&rsquo;ve seen! The base was very easy to install and feels very secure! The sensorsafe chest clip is a nice touch but not necessary. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the design of features. Personally, I found the stroller portion hard to figure out, but it could just be me. The stroller handle can be used at 2 heights, one of which accommodates a little person wanting to push their younger sibling, which is great for helping and then I can push a bigger shopping cart. Got to test this with the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and will keep it as a second vehicle seat, but didn&rsquo;t find it user friendly enough to replace our current infant seat. Our girls (ages 5 and 3) also love pushing this stroller and can easily maneuver when the handlebar is not extended. The sun shade provides adequate coverage but does not quite protect our son&rsquo;s ankles and feet, so plan accordingly. If you will be pushing on flat surfaces like pavement, flooring, or packed dirt and grass it works great. The smaller wheels make it difficult (read: almost impossible) to push on loose dirt or thick grass. Sensorsafe highlights 4 unsafe conditions for things we as parents or caregivers might now always be aware of, such as temperature of the car, is it too hot or too cold for baby? Unexpected chest clip unbuckling, child left unattended in the car alone, and even if your baby has been seated too long in the car seat which I think is super important to keep in mind of while using these car seat stroller combos that have popularly grown over the years. As you may know, leaving a baby seated in the car seat for an extended period of time can be dangerous so it&rsquo;s nice to know I would be alerted just in case! I was able to successfully test out the alarm system and without a doubt, it is loud and does not let you forget and makes you correct the issue. I can see how this has many pros, but cons as well, but have no worry, I was able to disconnect with ease. The functionality of this all in one car seat and stroller is a breeze to think about for those quick trips you don&rsquo;t want to pull out the heavy travel system out of the trunk to run a quick errand in the store. At 30 weeks pregnant, I had no major issues setting up and installing the seat in my vehicle, as well as putting in and taking out the dual ride. The canopy provided enough coverage from the sun and provides baby with sufficient privacy. My daughter had room to sit comfortably with lots of air flow which prevented her from overheating and sweating. I Absolutely LOVE that the Wheels are detachable. Living on a second floor apartment the wheels attached does get a bit heavy to carry upstairs but with the option to carry up just the car seat alone is a huge plus especially in the first weeks of recovery after birth where you aren&rsquo;t able to lift anything too heavy. The base is another huge plus. Locking the seatbelt in and knowing the base was leveled and secured was extremely easy and reassuring with the visual indicators. My baby has unfortunately already had a diaper blow out in the seat and it was very easy to take apart and wash in the washing machine. Thanks to LockStrong, I achieved a less than 5 minute install with 0 movement so I know baby is safe. The only lackluster feature I found on this seat is SensorSafe. The fit of the Evenflo Shyft DualRide is excellent for our two month old, and very easy to adjust with the no-rethread harness. I love that it is designed to fit tiny infants as small as 3 lbs 15.7 inches, but also has extended use to up to 35 lbs and 32 inches. I make tall skinny babies and previously found it difficult to find an infant car seat that fit well. The search is over with the Evenflo Shyft DualRide. Not only do the 8 harness positions allow for a better harness height fit, but the webbing of the straps seems to be more comfortable and smoother/easier to adjust as well. Installation is just as lovely as the fit and harness adjustments. The Latch quick connectors and LockStrong panel made installation super user friendly and quick, and it looks like a seatbelt install would be just as easy. The LockStrong panel made it so much easier to get a tight install with no more than 1 inch of movement without killing myself to get it tightened. I didn't break a sweat installing the base, and if you have installed many car seats in the past, you likely share my amazement at that. Unfortunately, getting the carrier and wheels into the base can be trickier. The actual click in is easy, but the seat with handle seems large, so if you have a small car you may have to put the handle in a forward or back position when putting the carrier into the car, unless you want to tilt it sideways to get it in the car door. We own two vehicles and had no issues getting the carrier and wheels in to our larger vehicle, but our compact car has much smaller doors. Trunk space is limited in the small car, so the Shyft DualRide is amazing to avoid needing a separate stroller. Luckily in the US you can use the Shyft DualRide seat driving with the carry handle in any position, so I just put the carrier and wheels in with the handle in the back position and then don't have to remember to move it upright for driving. This also makes it easier to get him in and out of the car for those times I leave the whole seat in the car. No extra step to remember to move the handle after buckling him up is nice. Small details like this on the Evenflo seat really make me love it. (If using the seat in Canada, it requires the handle be in a specific position when driving. Always read your car seat manual!) The added safety features of the anti-rebound base and Sensor Safe chest clip are huge bonuses too. I love knowing that my son is safe in his seat and that the Sensor Safe chest clip will alert me on my phone if he is too hot or cold, if the clip comes undone, if he has been in the seat for too long, and if he is left buckled in the seat accidentally. My husband hadn't installed the app yet and when he let me out of the car before parking and joining me with the baby I got an alert that the baby was still in the car. Knowing that this feature exists and will prevent us from accidentally forgetting the baby if we end up tired with a change in routine is amazing for peace of mind. The part I didn't think that I would enjoy as much is the functionality of the car seat as an all-in-one car seat and stroller. I was wrong. It is incredibly convenient to not have a separate stroller in the trunk, and to be able to deploy the wheels when we need them, and leave them in the car and just take the carrier when we don't need the stroller function. We have a narrow walkway and steps from our driveway to our front door, so we leave the wheels in the car at home. When we go elsewhere, it is easy to release the wheels with the carrier by using the other release hand pull. I love that there are just two hand pulls to release the carrier either solo or with the wheels, and they are also used to deploy the wheels and fold them back down. It is an intuitive design, and much easier to use than I expected. The transition from car seat to stroller and back is very quick and easy and we have received a lot of compliments on the DualRide and its ease of use as a stroller. The only con is that the stroller doesn't do very well unless it is on pretty flat and even terrain. To be fair, we mostly take baby to the doctor, store, or on short walks with sidewalk, so it isn't a big deal, but the Shyft DualRide would be a absolute unicorn baby product if they were able to add just enough suspension and/or bulkier wheels to roll over gravel without getting stuck. Overall, I really love this car seat and stroller combo. It even comes with a cup holder for the parent to use in stroller mode! If you have a small car, you may want to test fit getting the carrier in and out of your car before purchasing, but other than that I would recommend this to anyone who likes convenience and saving trunk space. Do I ruin my sleeping baby&rsquo;s nap to go inside? Do I sit in the idle car for their nap, stuck? My favorite feature of the Shyft DualRide Car Seat (provided by the Stellar Product Testing Panel) is how it converts seamlessly to a stroller, light, and easy to push! Picture a perfect transition from running a few errands to a bonus walk with your little one. The stroller to car seat conversion is more difficult since you have to lift it off the ground. This was difficult solo, and easier with two people. The installation was very fast (instructions with pictures are awesome). I&rsquo;m always cold, but is the car too hot? The SensorSafe feature calms this fear with its temperature alerts. Well this solves that problem! You can put the baby in get them car ready and push them around (or have your toddler do it) so they fall asleep and you can peacefully move around and get out the door and the panic is gone!! My toddler loved that he could push his sister around the house, the brakes were easy for him to use and they worked well! This seat is great, the safety features are numerous, I really like the sense chest clip, it&rsquo;s a great peace of mind that your child is secure when you are trying to organize everyone, you never want want to skip such an important step! The install of the seat was so easy!! It took me 10 mins to finagle my old base out but only seconds to install the new base and to remove it as they have added loops to help release the latch clips. Once you played around with the seat a bit it was pretty intuitive to use the buttons to operate the wheels up and down. Since I have a toddler it was nice to quickly get her out of the car and she was on wheels, then I was free to carry the toddler or hold his hand. There are so many ways to secure the seat in the car, it would make traveling with the seat easy with or without the base. I loved that when I was at someone&rsquo;s house with out all my baby safe places and I needed that baby to have a moment to herself, I could just pop her in the seat and push her and I didn&rsquo;t have to bouncer her or hold her the whole time. There were a few draw backs but I think they might be for more my specific situations. Since this is my 2nd child, she was behind my seat and I sit with the seat all the way back. The seat fit perfectly but I couldn&rsquo;t access the release buttons to do just the seat, so I always had to take the wheels. The seat is also very large back to front, heavy with the wheels and the handle bar is high, so in my small SUV I struggled to get it in smoothly and woke the baby on one rainy day, she went back to sleep though. I&rsquo;m not sure if I didn&rsquo;t have the correct finesse but lowering the wheels with baby in it also made a big locking noise and abrasive bounce. Might be easier if you start with this setup from newborn as you get used to it but starting with a 15lb baby it was hard to get it nicely. Overall a very safe and comfortable seat with a handy stroller wherever you went!
