When we switched I was extremely uncomfortable with the fact that there is only one position for the crotch strap. She is small for her age (16lbs and 28in), but after seeing that wide of a gap between her and the buckle--I would NEVER put a five pound baby in this seat! How is that much space between baby and harness safe? Sure, you can use a rolled towel for a baby, but how long is a toddler going to leave that alone? How much more tedious is strapping your child in and then adding the extra cushioning? I also did not like how the harness tightens at the hips (clever marketing advertises the awesome &quot;no re-thread necessary&quot;), it always pulled the buckle into her tummy and I'd constantly have to do a &quot;tighten, adjust, tighten, adjust&quot; dance. When it was as tight as it would go (pulling the strap), I'd buckle the chest clip only to find that I could still pinch the strap-with ease! We finally had enough when we strapped her in yesterday and the tightening mechanism came out of the seat! I don't know if the bolt had a nut attached that fell off or if it was just shoved into the hole in the plastic and finally wriggled loose, but I'm LIVID! How am I supposed to safely strap in my child with an unconnected tightening mechanism? What if my toddler had gotten ahold of the bolt while I was driving and couldn't see her? It's small enough she could have swallowed and/or choked on it! If that part of the seat falls apart after a mere 3months of usage--what else will fall apart? I was skeptical that a seat like this would really work for my 4 1/2 year old - she's really big and tall for her size, and I assumed our only option was a really basic booster seat. I was SO excited when I put her in this for the first time! The seat says that it fits kids from 5-110 lbs, and it truly does. She's got lots of room still to grow into it. And with the higher sides to cushion in her head in case of an accident, and all of the padding and cushioning to keep her snugly in place - this is the only seat I recommend for big kids! Speaking of those cushions - they include a really cool Gel Matrix Technology, which means they reduce pressure on little ones sitting in the car seat. This is important because one - it makes kiddos happy. Two, a happy kiddo means less squirming around, less fussing. And that means less distraction for mom or dad, for a much safer drive! It also has some cool features too - built in cupholders on both sides. {Why ANY car seat doesn't come with these is a mystery to me!} And a really genius idea: built in buckle holders. You can quickly tuck the metal buckles in on each side when you get your child out of the car, so when you put them in again later, you don't have dig tangled straps from under or behind them. And, in warmer months it keeps them from getting too hot. I'm sure we've all been there trying to use those super hot buckles! My husband and I decided to keep the seat because it is very safe, but we are going to purchase another car seat to keep in the garage for grandparents, sitters, etc. This is simply to challenging to change from car to car. It is unfortunate that all of the people who wrote the review most likely did not properly install the seat. The instructions clearly state not to use the latches and the seat belt, not just the latches. I was very impressed with the style/design of the seat. Installation is incredibly easy with Suresafe 1 second connection. I am terrible at installing car seats, and even I can have this installed within a minute or two! We&rsquo;ve had 4 car seats over the course of my daughter&rsquo;s life, and maintenance on this one is by far the easiest of any of them. This seat is SO nice! We're using it with our three year old daughter, who is tall for her age. I love that the harness adjusts to her shoulders, all we do is lift the harness up, put the harness on and then pull it tight. This is one of my favorite features that Evenflo has! We've been big fans of Evenflo seats for quite some time, and this new seat doesn't dissapoint! We have a 2003 Yukon XL, which doesn't have LATCH, but my 2004 Hyundai does. I love that this seat can easily be switched and installation takes just seconds with LATCH (and not much longer using seat belt installation). The recline on the seat helps you perfectly fit it in your car, I've seen other seats where you need to add towels or pool noodles to get the proper fit, but this seat fit perfectly in my car's seat. Our daughter really likes the seat and has not complained at all about sitting in the seat, it looks very comfortable and we haven't heard anything otherwise! The buckleholders are another great features. You may have noticed how hot those buckles get when in a hot car, and how it can be frustrating to have a child sit on the buckes. Well, just pop the buckles on the buckle holders and you don't have to worry about skin being burned, or having to pry the harness out from underneath the child. Overall, I think this is a great seat at a great price. As I'm sure all of you feel, safety in the car is of utmost importance to us, especially when it comes to our four year old son and two year old daughter. We've done everything possible to keep them safe in the car including keeping our children rear facing for as long as possible, thoroughly researching car seat options, and visiting the state police station for lessons on how to properly install the car seats in the car. Even with our lessons from the police on installing car seats safely, I've still felt very nervous each time we had to install the seats ourselves. I've found that sometimes even when I think I've installed the seat correctly, it's actually not in the best position possible. 70% of car seats are incorrectly installed.
