My husband paid good money for it, and I&rsquo;m here to warn other parents of the hot mess that is the EvenFlo Platinum symphony LX. Cons: &bull;Impossible to install properly in a 2017 Kia Sedona. &bull;The base of the carseat sits too far off the seat of the vehicle. &bull;LATCH strap on bottom is too short to be used in a captains chair (middle row of van) &bull;No installation videos, just a video call to help you install. Holding the phone or tablet for a video call while also wrestling a car seat sounds like the opposite of a convienent solution. Put up a video, WITHOUT ADS, on YouTube for each specific model, would you? &bull;seat is incredibly light. No metal Reinforcement which means your child&rsquo;s safety is left to the plastic bits and foam. &bull;elastic on cup holders isn&rsquo;t easily replaced. It&rsquo;s gonna wear out. And get dirty. Gross. Pros &bull;nice color. This seat is a little on the bulky side, but it feels sturdy and my daughter fits in it really nicely. I love that it goes from 5 to 110lbs, so my daughter will fit in it for a long time to come! The fact that it's rollover tested and side impact tested gives me some relief when driving too. A towel or something has to be shoved Under the front of the seat when it's in th rear facing position, which is kind of annoying. It does attach easily and seems quite comfortable. Last month a man ran a red light and T-boned my husband and the boys on their way to get donuts going 55 mph. All of the impact was on the backseat. Both of my boys did not have a single injury. Some slight bruising on the collar bones from the harness but they were totally fine. I am so grateful for a great carseat. The insurance had us buy new ones so I bought another set of the same ones. The Britax traps so much heat and causes my son to sweat terribly even on cooler days whereas the Symphony Platinum stays cool to the touch even on 100+ degree days sitting in the car with all the windows up and in direct sunlight in Virginia. The padding is comfortable and fairly easy to remove when it needs to be washed. Pros: - Seat stays cool even on the hottest days - Easy to Install with Sure Latch system (takes less than 2 minutes) - No re-thread harness adjustment -Higher height/weight limits for long term use Cons (Moreso room for improvement): - Infant padding (upper) slides around, wish it could be secured - The arrow on the base that has to be level with the ground when installed is difficult to see. This could be colored or made to a bubble level to help ensure a proper installation. - If there was a way to include an adjustable base (the way some infant carrier bases adjust to obtain a level fit in a vehicle) that would be amazing vice using a rolled towel or pool noodle. -The harness release trigger could be coated with rubber, because even though it is under the flap of fabric it does get hot. - Buckle storage slots (great concept), but the buckle seems to fall out quite easily so we don&rsquo;t even bother using them. Although if the buckle does stay it does help to keep the metal tips cooler. We really do love this seat and the fact that we can use it for years to come is a huge plus!
