It is super easy to install, though I can't get it to recline enough and it is not as easy to install with a pool node underneath for proper angle. I like that the straps just adjust to her shoulder height because in other seats she is too short for one level but then too tall for another. But I HATE, not just dislike or find a nuisance, hate with a passion so much so that I am cursing everytime I put her in the car the turn knobs to tighten the straps. When we first bought it I thought they were neat but then I could hardly turn them without hurting my hands. First off rear facing (which we plan to do until my daughter is 2 at least as it is the current safety recommendation and she is currently only 13 months) the knobs press into the seat and I have to either attempt to squish my hand in between the seat and knob or push the seat back which makes the carseat loose and unsafe. Not only that I am in literal tears everytime I try to tighten it as my hands are in so much pain. I am a small woman who admittedly is not overly strong but regardless you'd think I should be able to tighten my child's carseat straps but no. Recently I have been finding it physically impossible, meaning the knob will not continue to turn enough to get the straps tight enough to be safe. This really has me concerned for my daughter's well being in this carseat. I had heard wonderful things about the symphony and was hoping the triumph would be similar as the symphony just wasn't in the budget at the time but now I completely regret that desicion and unfortunately buying a whole other carseat is certainly even less in the budget. I am very disappointed and hope in future models will reconsider the use of knobs (as I have heard from others that they are difficult to turn not just a fault in my seat). If it weren't for the knobs I would really like this seat but due to the fact that it will not tighten enough to be safe I can't.
Date published: 2015-12-27

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lspreack from Too difficult to loosen It maybe due to my carpal tunnel, but I don't like this seat. We have a 2013 Elantra and a 2002 Camry. I purchased this originally due to good Consumer Reports ratings, CarSeatBlog ratings, and online store ratings, however this seat has failed to live up to them. I've attempted to install this rear-facing behind the passenger seat and the LATCH strap is the most terrible one I've ever seen. First, the fact that I have to get a good 3-4 inches of towel under the carseat closest to the seatback to get the arrow level is a bit ridiculous. I haven't seen a flat rear seat in any car since the early 90's. It should have been expected that there would be a recline when installing. Second, the LATCH connector just *barely* fits the standard width. I had to ask my wife to push on the seat and pull with all my might to just get it to clip on the LATCH hooks in either car. This is with it loosened all the way. It just seems to be about 3 inches too short to make it able to be done by an individual. Third, when in rear-facing mode, the shoulder strap tightening wheels butt up against the seat and make it quite difficult to tighten since we can't wrap our hands around the whole thing. Maybe 225 degrees of it are available to hold on to which makes it difficult to get a good grip and we can only turn it 1 click at a time before having to readjust our grip. But by far the worst thing is that try as I might, I cannot get the LATCH strap tight enough. I've sat in the seat (150 lbs), used a screwdriver through the loop to get better leverage without ripping my finger off, had my wife put her weight on while I pulled, etc. and nothing seems to work. After taking our weight off, the seat still moves about 3 inches side to side (doesn't move back and forth), and I can pull *SLACK* on the LATCH strap with minimal effort, but the tensioner just refuses to take in that slack. I've had a professional car seat installer take a look and they can't even get it tight enough. If a professional can't get this to meet safety standards, how should everyone who's bought one of these be expected to have it correctly installed? It frightens me to think that there may be thousands of these out there that are not safe due to poor design that may leave people thinking it's installed right (because they can't physically tighten it more) when it still gives way too much travel to meet even minimum safety standards. We have been using a Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seat before this and I can get the LATCH strap to "thwang" due to how tight it was with very minimal effort. I expected this to take a little more effort due to the lower price point, but the LATCH strap being physically and visibly loose even after putting 150lbs into tightening it is a major safety problem. Maybe I got a defective tensioner on my strap, but if that is not the case, I'd like to see what my options are for getting a full refund. We were going to buy a second one so I don't have to keep moving it back and forth, but if it is impossible to get this tight enough to meet safety standards, then I don't see the point in Evenflo getting any of my money. My son's safety matters first.
Date published: 2015-11-16

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ana1 from Perfect fit Just bought this for my 3 month old and she loves it. When rear facing the knobs to tighten the harness are at such an angle with the back of the seat that it's difficult to turn the knobs. When forward facing the adjustable height has to be moved up EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I put my son in it. I do not like that there isn't a warning saying that when forward facing the straps need to be above (not below) the shoulders and I imagine there are many people using this seat incorrectly. I would love to give it to someone who wants it and get something else that is better for our car/family.
Date published: 2015-06-08

Rated 5 out of 5 by reebs_w from After months of researching, my husband and myself decided to buy this car seat. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I love the tension knobs, there is so much padding for my son and he actually enjoys being in his carseat now opposed to a different brand we had. It fits nicely in our suv and I always feel safe with him in this seat. So safe that we are looking into buying a second one for our second vehicle. It is a bit pricey but I guess you do get what you are paying for, Which is peace of mind. While it looked nice when we first installed it, within a few weeks I started to notice pulls in the fabric around his legs. My son didn't like to wear shoes, so can't be blamed on velcro. In the past couple of weeks the pulling and wearing has begun to extend down the seat to where his bottom sits. this doesn't affect the safety of the seat, but my son will be in this seat for abother few years, and it doesn't look as nice as I want my child's car seat to look. Also at first I liked the "dial down" feature to tighten the straps, I would seriously reconsider buying another. I don't think it tightens tight enough without using a lot of effort.
Date published: 2015-04-30

Rated 3 out of 5 by carriek38 from Lousy fabric I bought this about 6 mos ago. This was the third Triumph I've purchased over the past 6yrs. I love the seats, & updates over the years have made it easier to use. With this incarnation, I find the installation more difficult than I had expected in my minivan. That was easy to get over, & I mostly attribute the difficulty to the vehicle. That said, 6mos in & the fabric looks terrible. Pulls all over the place, especially where my daughter's feet are. The funny thing? She's never worn outdoor shoes in it. At 17 mos, she's only ever worn soft leather (Robeez type) shoes, so it's not like her shoes are snagging the seat. It's just not a hard-wearing fabric, which is what I expect in car seats. I'm very disappointed.
Date published: 2015-04-27

Rated 5 out of 5 by kayjay248 from awesome seat! I bouth this when my son hit 7 months. One annoyance away from excellent. Though I've had the seat for a year, I just installed it as my child is now old/heavy/tall enough for it. Simple to install. Child is comfortable and it is easy to buckle. Tightening the straps with the turn know system is difficult in the rear facing position. I imagine that it will be easier once facing forward as access to the knobs will be better. Loosening the straps seems more difficult than it should be, but this could be user error. If not for the difficulty tightening the straps, then I would've rated the seat excellent overall.
Date published: 2015-04-03

Evenflo Triumph LX Convertible Car Seat - Flynn Reviews - page 6

y_2025, m_5, d_23, h_4

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_5, bvpage2n

co_hasreviews, tv_18, tr_217

loc_en_CA, sid_3EB8D97F, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 7ms

reviews, product
