It is extremely well thought out in all design features. For starters it has a special holder in the back to keep the manual so it's always on hand. It's super cushioned and the extra head rest actually stays in place. For when ur child grows it is very is to just slide shoulder restraint higher instead of having to take buckles apart. I LOVE the buckle pockets for the seat belt buckles... I am constantly digging for them and get frustrated at how the seat belt gets twisted, but with the buckle pockets that no longer happens. The other nice feature of the car seat is the tension right knobs on either side of the car seat making adjusting the tightness of the harness straps so easy. Another helpful point is that installing the car seat is extremely easy and very quick. The seat itself is a bit heavy and bulky, I would not choose this seat if I had to switch it between cars or travel (like haul it through an airport) often, but for keeping it in one car I have Loved it. My Son loves that he sits higher in it and can see out the window easily. We also have a Graco Nautilus in my Husbands car and we wish we'd bought two of these. This seat is just so much easier. Also very simple to remove the padding and clean. I love that I don't have to remove the straps to get the pad out. The updated features have made me fall in love with this car seat all over again. First, the seat is heavy. If you're going to be transferring between cars might be a drag, but I like how solid it feels. I had to make sure to follow the directions to ensure I was placing the latch harness correctly for my rear-facing 8-month-old. It wasn't diffucult at all but I wanted to make sure I was doing it exactly like it showed in the manual. We had to do some adjusting of the crotch belt which was easy to do by removing the seat cover, but after that all belt adjustments could be made on the fly. Which, when you're bent over the backseat of your car with a squirmy baby is so helpful. We are still playing around with the padding in the seat. She has almost outgrown the headrest, but we may remove the extra seat cushion and keep the headrest for awhile until her ears are higher than the cushion. The other features such as the cool seat cover, buckle inserts, and recline we have not yet tested, but they enhance the overall appeal of the seat. The cushions also look like they wipe clean easily which is a huge win. As soon as I took the car seat out of the box, my 18 month old daughter ran and sat it. My daughter doesn&rsquo;t like car seats, but after she stayed in the seat for 15 minutes I could tell that she LOVED IT. (Her favorite part was the cup holder bands that made nice sounds when pulled and then let go.) She followed me out to the car and proceeded to sit in the car seat again as I installed it. Even with my toddler, the installation was done in under minutes! Adjusting the straps is simplified and it does not require the car seat to be taken apart to increase or decrease the strap lengths. There are two knobs on either side of the car seat for tightening the straps and a latch used to loosen the straps. That&rsquo;s it! Buckling is made even easier with the buckle pockets because I don't have to fish around my daughter to find the straps. We have been using the car seat for over a week now and am still pleased with the easy function. My daughter and 5 month old son also enjoy the car seat and sit comfortably on car rides. We always wear our seat belts, we make sure our car seats are properly installed, and they are used before the expiration date. Andrew and Ty are in booster seats now but Eli is still in a harness car seat and will remain there until either he reaches the max weight or age before moving him to a booster seat like his brothers. I was so excited when I was chosen and received the email one day before the package arrived on my door step. This mama thought it was Christmas all over again. I received Evenflo Triumph&trade; LX Convertible Car Seat in Fischer color. As soon as Eli saw this box and I opened to pull it out he said &quot;mama is that my new big boy car seat&quot;, so yes I can say he is just as excited as he sat in it before I even got the tags pulled off or the straps adjusted. This car seat looks more comfortable and provides more support than our Eddie Bauer car seat we have. It does sit up a bit higher than our other one but Eli likes that because he can see out the car window now without straining his neck. It is made with OUTLAST Performance Fabric which absorbs hot and cold temperatures, releasing as needed. I love the Buckle Pockets. I have not seen a car seat that has this feature, but this is a great feature to have because when you put a child in the seat they usually sit on the buckles or even in the summer time with the warmer temperatures these buckles become hot and could potentially burn the child. As I read the instruction manual on how to adjust the straps, seat positioning and installing in the car I could not wait to install it. I love the TensionRight side bar for tightening the straps. On our old car seat I had to remove the padding and re-thread the straps just to adjust the length on the straps. With the TensionRight side bar you simply turn the knob to tighten or press the button located in the front to loosen. Located on the straps as you can see in the picture it shows you where the straps should be for the child and they should be located above the shoulder. The chest clip should be armpit level on the child. I know Eli is at the age he can move the chest clip up or down but since using the new car seat he has not even bothered with them. Everything about this car seat screams safety and comfort for your child. When installing it took me a few minutes and my only recommendation would be to make the lap/shoulder belt hole a little bigger to thread the seat belt through. I have small hands and still had to work with it a bit to get it through. I also used the latch safety system with the front facing car seat when Eli was a baby and also when he was rear facing we used the latch system, but both times I used not only the latch system but also the lap/shoulder just for extra safety. We have been using this car seat for a few days now and Eli hasn't complained at all. When I asked him if his new big boy seat was comfortable he said &quot;yes mama&quot; and loves to point out everything he sees out his window now. I really like the reclining positioner especially when he naps in the car I can lay him back a little so his neck is not wobbling. Overall this car seat is by far one of the best we've had in seven years of having kids all in car seats. I want to be complete in this review, and it's so difficult to do so while an infant and a two year old always needing me! I've been using this car seat for my 9 week old baby for almost a week. I intended to try with my two year old, but haven't had the opportunity yet. Out of the box, the seat looks really nice, as nice as the highest price point seats that we've looked at. I haven't had any messes to clean up in it yet, but hopefully it will clean up nicely. Installation was another story. The other car seats I've owned have had levels on them to show that they are installed at the correct angle, especially for rear facing, which both of my children still are. But there is no level and we had to guess. The first two times that we installed this seat, we had to take it out again and add some more rolled up towels to make sure that my infant is at the safest angle. This was a frustrating process that could have been avoided by using a level like other car seat companies. Also with installation, the other newer car seat that we have has the LATCH that is easier to operate, with the button to just release it instead of what this seat has, more of a conventional hook. It's another great idea to have the tabs where the buckle can be stored so that it is easier to get your child in and out of the car seat. However, with my son, who is 9 weeks and almost 15 lbs. the straps do not have to be so long as to use the little pockets. I haven't been loosening the straps so much as to be able to use the pockets for the buckle. The reason I haven't been loosening the straps very much comes to my biggest problem with this seat. I loved the idea that you can tighten the straps by turning the knobs instead of tugging on the tail of a strap, like most other car seats. However, the knobs on this seat are very difficult to turn. My 65 year old parents are going to help me with child care in a few weeks, and I have concerns that they will not be able to tighten this car seat. Therefore, I may have to install the seat I was using previously.
