Maybe we were a bit naive thinking she could use this product at this age but I think my son, growing up, had one. In any case, we had to cut the string with the tapper since it is not long enough for her to tap the keys. And, the string feels flimsy, and, maybe a bit unsafe.....In any case, I would like to have seen the string longer and stronger. When my grandchild is a bit older, we are going to reattach the string to the xylophone. And, I would have liked to have seen a wooden tapper/drumstick to make it more authentic.</span>

not sure as i shipped it to my grandson in calgary. im sure if you buy a piece of one inch wooden dowel from hardware store it will do the same trick. probably 8 inches long
