He was so excited to take it out of the package. The first thing he noticed was it has a button on top that makes the bat symbol light up when Batman is in it. The next thing he paid attention to was the claw that shoots out. It shoots out pretty far. They are very easy to play with for little hands, bigger kids still have fun with them to play with younger siblings, and we have not had and broken parts or pieces yet. This Batman Battling Robot is a great start to introducing him to superhero action figures. There is so much to do with this toy, He loves using the flying projectile claw to capture evil villains, the chopping arm to crash through his wooden block towers, and his favorite, the light that shines when he presses the red button. His only frustration with this toy is that Batman keeps falling out of the robot while battling. I think that they should have made an indented foothold with a peg to keep Batman from falling out. My favorite part of this toy is the time I get to spend with my son playing with it, he has so many questions about superheroes and villains, I look forward to answering all his questions and sharing my vast knowledge of superheroes with him. Yes, there is a launcher element which is always a hit, but the light function is unnecessary and not interesting. All the light function does is illuminate the batman symbol on batman's chest. Its useless if batman is lost (which is highly possible), as well as attempting to use other figures inside (such as if a bad guy steals batman's mech/walker suit). I received this free through the Mattel Play, Rate and Review program in exchange for my honest opinion. My son has had so much fun shooting the &quot;hand&quot; out of the robots arm. It shoots pretty far too which he has enjoyed. I love that it has a removable batman figure that is the controller of the robot. It's like two toys on one. There is a button on top of the robot that can be pushed to light up the batman figures head and chest. I think this is a very cute feature but my son doesn't use it very often. I really like the size of this toy. Its big enough for a 3 year old to play with, not having tiny pieces, yet not too big so we can take it with us when we go places. The legs and arms on the robot can both be moved manually. The only negative thing I have to say is that one of the legs came loose after the first day of my son playing with it and now won't stay up. This doesnt really effect much though because you can sit it on the floor to keep its leg up. It does feel like a strong, quality product.
