We googled why it may not have sound and something to do with wiring. My husband opened it up and tried to connect the wiring to the plate in which it belonged. It did start to make sounds but soon stopped making sounds. My son basically has tried to play with it but it seems unappealing with just the lights. When receiving it, the box had minimal parts for me to put together. It was easy for this momma to do by herself with her kids playing next to me. The batteries came in it too - which is a bonus! The second I turned on the car, the noise was entertaining and attracted the kids to want to play with it. My daughter who is special needs kept turning the wheel and getting a kick out of it. The radio is also fun to listen to and doesn&rsquo;t get annoying. My 3 year old loves to sit on this toy too at every chance she can. I thought this toy looked a little cheaper than some sit and play toys but has held up nicely with my 3 big kids that want to play on it. Looks gender neutral which is nice so kids don&rsquo;t fight over the color. Lots of fun bouncing on the seat and playing for hours. I was skeptical as we have had other ride on toys that the kids stopped playing with but so far all my kids fight to play with it (6,5,3,15 months). My 15 month old dances and bounces to the music and love how it is in English and Spanish. I think I could sing along to most of the songs too as they are catchy. The package was easy to open and my husband was able to put it all together in about 10 minutes even with our two &lsquo;little helpers&rsquo;. It has the smart stages function we we love as it will grow with your child and offer new things with each stage. It&rsquo;s very easy to turn on and off and to lower the volume. The colors are nice and bright and perfectly gender neutral. The handle on the back is great bc our older daughter can help push her little sister. It also helps her to stay on and not fall off. The lights and sounds are all awesome - totally what you would expect from this great brand. The seat bounces up and down which is a fun feature. We only found one thing to possibly improve this car - and that would be the wheels. It would help to have a rubber strip running through the middle of each tire. Sometime on the hard wood floor and tile the tires wouldn&rsquo;t grip the floor and would just slide across. Not a big problem or anything just a suggestion. The only suggestion that I have to offer is that it would be nice if the car sat a little higher off the ground. My daughter is at the high end of the suggested age range for this toy, so her legs are a little too long when she tries sitting on the car and pushing off with her feet. Maybe the wheels could be a little bigger?
