She&rsquo;s 16 months old and everyday at playtime I bring out this toy. At first, she didn&rsquo;t show much interest because she couldn&rsquo;t figure out how to make each fruit pop up but after showing her each time, she&rsquo;s finally starting to get the hang of it and very excited with screams everytime one of the fruits pop out! I love that this toy is brightly colored and comes with numbers and shapes on the top of each pop up. Plus, each pop up make&rsquo;s different sounds. There&rsquo;s so many ways to keep my baby active on this toy. This Tropical Fruit pop up toy is adorable. It&rsquo;s nice and gender neutral and a summer treat. The fruit friends who pop up are strawberry, pear, pineapple, and an orange. They all have cute expressions on their faces to point out to your baby or toddler. I love how the base of the toy looks like a watermelon. Most of the motions to get the fruit friends to pop up are simple except for maybe the twisting one (my 21 month old needed some assistance). My son&rsquo;s speech therapist also brings this toy over regularly during sessions and she uses it to practice words like &ldquo;pop, push, down, up, close, etc&rdquo;. It a fun way to practice words and colors by repetition while they are playing. We also love the toy helps gross motor skills with the different style activation buttons for little hands. The easiest being the push button that makes a cute squeak noise which is a favorite of his. Even my older child wanted a turn after my little one had a chance to play with it. While the toy is super cute, it just didn't hold their attention as long as I'd had hoped. They will play with it eagerly for a short time and then move on to something else. I feel like if we'd have gotten this while my little one was younger she'd have had more fun with it for longer periods of time. It was a big hit! The older one obviously knew how to operate the different openers but the younger one was a bit more challenged. My 18 month old plays with it a lot and especially loves the squeaky life preserver button. The umbrella and yellow switch are easy for him to do as well. The leaf is pretty difficult to turn. It seems to get stuck and has to be twisted really quite hard to pop up the strawberry.
