<span itemprop="description">I am so bummed. I saw the reviews saying the wheel got stuck but was hoping it had been fixed. IT HAS NOT. I did a lot of research and was so excited for this stroller but the steering is horrible, when locked in place it pulls and only goes straight if the wheel is backward, and you literally have to place the wheel forward facing to start moving - going around sharp corners is a pain!! save your money and buy something else :( gave it 2 because I like the seating options, it is smooth when going straight and wheel is set up straight, and the car seat is decent.</span>

When front wheel is locked, it doesn't steer in a straight line. When front wheel is not locked, it is difficult to maneuver.
May be I got a defective piece or may be it is not the right product.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try this Graco Modes Jogging Stroller because of all the different ways it can be used and I was given this travel system to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I really wanted to love this stroller system and there were things I loved but I also some things that frustrated me. It is a stroller system that includes a Graco Snug Connect infant car seat and base, a jogging stroller, and a super handy ‘toddler seat’ that clicks right in to the stroller. It appears to be a versatile system because of all the ways it can be used but unfortunately, as much as I tried to love it, I found problems with some of the features that made me not enjoy it entirely.
I am a second time mom to a 7 month old and a four year old and I was looking for a way to stay active but not be bogged down with all of the baby gear that is always inevitable. In the past I’ve used a top of the line jogging stroller that had amazing suspension but was too bulky even when folded and not good for infants unless you bought all the expensive accessories. This Graco Modes stroller system is, on paper, a versatile way to be active and go from one activity to the next seamlessly but it unfortunately was not as convenient to use as I was expecting it to be due to its bulky weight, awkward release mechanism, and poor handling.
With that being said, there were things I really loved about the versatility of it. You can leave baby in his car seat and click the car seat right in to the stroller and be on your way. You can face baby forward or have him face you while you run - which we both love. You can click the car seat into the stroller by itself or right on top of the toddler seat. I have to mention that this option of clicking the car seat in to face you while directly on top of the toddler seat could only work for smaller babies- there is basically no room for baby’s feet to kick and move his feet due to the frame being in the way. It also was really hard to click the car seat in on top of the toddler seat because of that lack of space in that configuration - I had to be very careful not to hit baby’s feet when attempting to load the car seat on top of the forward facing toddler seat.
But aside from that, I loved being able to see his sweet face taking in everything and giggling as I made my way through the neighborhood. My favorite configuration at this point is to click the car seat into the stroller by itself and have him face me while I run. Being able to see my baby’s face and talk to him and make eye contact while using a jogging stroller was delightful and it was wonderful to have that option. The manual said that there are seven different ways to use this and that is what I loved most about it - I love having options!
The ‘toddler seat’ is another option for baby to sit in instead of the infant car seat and that can also face forward or face you. It can be used for bigger babies and toddlers. My seven month old is a chunk weighing in at 22 lbs already so we had no trouble using the toddler seat. It appeared very comfortable for him too! The padding is ample, the material seems very smooth and there are two cup holders and a tray area for baby. The toddler seat was very easy to click in and out also. I do think the toddler seat should have a way to fold up more compactly when not in use. When I had the toddler seat out of the stroller, it took up a lot of space in my car and was kind of bulky.
As far as the car seat itself, I used the LATCH system to install the base and it was incredibly easy to do. It took me all of two minutes to install. Another thing I like about the car seat is that it has a 35 pound weight limit as opposed to a 30 pound weight limit which is what our other one had. That extra poundage gives us more time until a different car seat needs to be used so it is one less thing that I need to worry about for a while. I also like how the car seat was shallow enough that I could reach into the backseat and replace my baby’s pacifier in his mouth while I was stopped at a light.
Another great feature about this travel system was the basket size. It was amazing! The basket was huge and very convenient. You can fit in extra jackets, a backpack, or in my case, my four year old’s trucks and a soccer ball for the park. A bigger basket is always better and this one had way more space than all other strollers I’ve tried. I also liked the two cup holders on top for me and the handy compartment in between them that clicks shut and is perfect for your phone and keys while on the go.
Another nice feature was the sun shade for both the car seat and the stroller. It provided excellent shade and when baby was sleeping in his car seat clicked into the stroller, I could close both sun shades to make a little private sleeping cocoon for him while still having air ventilation.
While I am pleased with the versatility of the stroller system and these other nice features I’ve mentioned so far, I have to move on to things I disliked about the Graco Modes 2.0, namely the weight, awkward release mechanism, and poor handling.
Having a stroller system like this is supposed to make life easier and struggling to load and unload it from the back of my minivan was not fun. A screaming infant paired with a frustrating stroller does not make for a happy mom. It was very heavy for me to lift and awkward to unload and set up. The handlebar has a switch that you click over and turn to get it released but there is also a strap near the wheels that must be undone before you do this. I tried it many times and it hasn’t gotten easier to unlatch quickly and seamlessly. The plastic strap wants to stay connected unless you hold it apart and the stroller’s handlebar is almost touching the ground while it stands up so you have to get very low in order to release it. It was easiest to unload while laying flat in the back of my minivan but that took up so much space. It also lacks an obvious way to grab the stroller on the opposite side of the handlebar to unload it that way.
Another poor design feature is the poor handling. It lacks a convenient foot pad to push your weight on when you need to turn it slightly while the wheel is locked. I couldn’t even use this while walking around a store without running into things if I had the wheel locked and I had to push down on the handlebar and use the side frame for leverage with my foot to lift and steer- it was too awkward. When the wheel is unlocked, it gets stuck much too often and almost falls over. I have found myself having to put the brakes on and go to the front of the stroller to manually turn the wheel so that it did not topple over. I’m thinking that maybe some grease could help it move a bit better. But in my opinion, the front wheel should right itself back into position when raised in the air and this one does not. It stays stuck in a horizontal position even when lifted in the air so I have to stop everything to fix it.
I’m willing to overlook the bulky weight of this travel system because most jogging strollers tend to be a bit heavier. I truly did enjoy the versatility of the system and the comfortable features I mentioned but the release mechanism and stubborn front wheel made me frustrated more times than I care to admit. I still would recommend this stroller system but with a fair warning about its limitations. Perhaps it is a learning curve and it will become easier for me to unload over time because I still do enjoy using it for both myself and baby!</span>
