The Modes Nest Travel System does have a car seat and they can outgrow it depending on the growth of the baby. Yes, a toddler seat would need to be purchased after and the there is no infant/toddler seat due to the weight limits of the stroller. The SnugRide Infant Carrier has a 7 year useful life from the date of manufacture. You can see the date of manufacture when you make a purchase at a local retailer, we put a sticker on the outside of the box that will give you this information.
