Overall, it is a fantastic stroller. The bassinet feature would be perfect with a newborn/infant, and I sure wish I had this when my littles were that young! It is very easy to switch from seat to bassinet and back. It also works with a ClickConnect infant car seat. My car seat clicked in with ease. Having the ability to flip the seat around to face me is so nice, especially during the separation anxiety phase or when baby gets a bit overwhelmed by their surroundings. My absolute favorite part of this stroller has to be the ability to move the seat up a bit higher. This feature will come in so handy for out many trips to the zoo. With other strollers, my child would never have a decent view of the animals while sitting in the stroller, but with the ability to raise the seat, she will be able to see so much more! A few other perks I must mention include the ENORMOUS (and even expandable) basket and the ease of steering. My 3-year-old could sit in the basket under the seat comfortably (this is only for size reference; I didn’t actually put my child in the basket!) I never have to worry about dragging too much stuff along with us on our adventures. The basket is so roomy, and it is so easily accessible, especially with the seat raised. The stroller is very well balanced and steers with ease. It lovely to be able to push my 1-year-old with one hand, and still be able to hold my 3-year-old's hand. I really like the features of this stroller, but felt one thing was really lacking, especially given the price: there is not a parents' console. There is only one small cup holder, which doesn’t seem too stable. I really would like to have had a full tray/cup holder area to put a drink or two, my phone, and my keys. Even a zippered pocket built into the canopy for phone and keys would have been better than nothing. It is not ideal to have to throw my keys into the giant basket then have to find them again later. If the stroller was upgraded to include a better parents' tray option, I’d say this is the perfect stroller from birth on.
Date published: 2020-02-15

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jdlc84 from Love the sliding feature I love how you can slide the baby as close as you want. With my first baby, I looked at travel systems and found them to be heavy, bulky, and cumbersome and not at all easy for a new mom to get out of the house. I have had the opportunity to use this stroller for a couple weeks and have been delighted by it's functionality and the ease of switching between the three options of bassinet, car seat, and toddler seat. First, I found the assembly to be pretty easy overall. I did struggle a bit with the wheel diagrams, but my husband was able to quickly figure it out. We were able to put it together in 25 minutes. The stroller looks elegant and higher end. I think the color of the sun bonnet is lovely. It is a very aesthetically pleasing design. I found it a little tricky to change from toddler seat to bassinet at first, however, after doing it a few times it was easy to get the hang of it. I love the toddler seat design as it can switch from outward facing to facing mom and it transitions easily. The seat is easily adjustable to three different heights. I especially like this feature as I prefer to keep my six month old high and closer to my eye level. But when my three year old rode I had her seat at the lowest setting. It's very easy to adjust and I didn't even need to read the instruction manual to figure it out. One of my favorite features is the generously sized basket on the bottom. It can fit a diaper bag, groceries, and your toddler's dinosaurs and trucks easily. The stroller maneuvers very well and was a smooth ride for my baby and toddler. It really turns on a dime. I was happily surprised by how light the stroller is considering you can use this stroller from birth through toddler hood. I found the stroller very easy to fold and unfold quickly. I even got the point I could unfold it one handed, which is very important with two kids. One of the downsides to me is that the handle isn't adjustable height wise. It was the perfect height for me at 5'8", but I could see a shorter parent thinking it was too high. I also didn't love the design of the five point harness. You have to connect the over the shoulder strap with the bottom strap each time and then click it in the center. The other downside is that folded up it does take up a fair amount of space. I have a Subaru Outback so had ample space, but it could be an issue if you have a compact trunk or are tight on space. Overall I was very happy with this stroller. I think its a good one for first time parents or parents with very young children. If you have a toddler it's probably best to choose a different option, but this stroller will take you from birth through toddler hood with ease and you will look great doing it. First of all, the functionality of this stroller is absolutely like no other! The ability to adjust the height and position of the seat is genius and innovative! Being able to bring baby closer and facing you is such an added bonus especially for new babies when your constantly needing to check on them! Turning the seat into bassinet mode was fairly easy after reading the manual, I wouldn’t attempt it without reading the instructions first though, trust me I tried lol! I also have a toddler so switching it to toddler mode was fairly easy as well. I absolutely love the way this travel system functions and how versatile it is. Using it with the car seat was also a breeze to install and was very secure which made me confident in my babies safety in the seat! The underneath storage basket is such an added bonus! It is so spacious and provides tons of space for storing yours or your kids belongings! Being able to flip the seat forward or back facing was a plus as well! My toddler likes facing out to see everything around him but when I have the baby in it I prefer the baby facing me! I love that this combo provides both options. Installation of the car seat and baseI to the car was easy . The car seat snaps right into and out of the base securely and effortlessly! There were easy, clear instructions on how to assemble as well as how to go from one use to the next (bassinet, carseat, toddler seat modes). I have never had a product be that versatile and All-in-one before! The ease of assembly, quality materials, light weight end product all put this stroller at the top of my recommend list for friends with newborns. I found my 10 month old daughter to be too big for the car seat unfortunately. The car seat has great comfort and thought put into it's components and although too small, it was very easily adjustable when i attempted to size it for my daughter. The stroller steers easily and rides smoothly and the height adjuster is such a great feature! At first I thought it was gonna be a heavy stroller but it’s actually lighter than it looks, while still being sturdy. Great quality with a sleek look. A Must-Have This stroller is a great quality stroller with so many great features! -Loves- -It was quick and easy to put together. -The seat/bassinet is made from a durable yet comfortable material. -A unique feature is the chair is adjustable to 3 different heights to bring your little one closer to you or lower down to the ground. -To transition the chair to a bassinet is simple with a slider on the backside and there is a removable snack tray. -When in the chair position there is a built-in footrest that has leather for simple cleaning. -A five-point harness is used to secure your little one for safe strolling but can easily be used as a three-point seatbelt as they get older. -The storage basket underneath the chair is HUGE and is also expandable! -The stroller moves and maneuvers with ease. -There's even a cup holder for mama's coffee! -Misses- -The stroller is very spacious but because of this it can be hard to fit into tighter places -It would have been nice to have a build-in stroller caddy on the handle -Sometimes it was difficult to find the closure clip to open the stroller if the clip was a different color maybe it would be easier. It quickly folds down into a bassinet and I absolutely love the option of facing the child towards you and being able to pull them closer! However, we have a 17 month old and a 3 year old, so we are just transitioning out of the most beneficial stage of this stroller with the bassinet and carseat connect. While both of our girls do enjoy riding in this stroller, I prefer the ease of mobility of our three-wheeled jogging stroller or the compactability of our umbrella stroller. I was surprised with how smoothly this stroller rolls. It glides nicely, turns on a dime, and is lightweight enough to manage curbs fairly well. However, in my experience, you just cannot beat the ease of how a three-wheeled jogging stroller smoothly pops over curbs and maneuvers rough terrain. I love being able to adjust the height of the seat and pull my child up closer to me! My daughter always smiles when I pull her up! I also love having the option of turning the seat around and seeing my daughter's reactions on the stroll if I want! The seat is lightweight and easy to quickly flip around; I just wish I could do it safely with my daughter inside! My daughter didn't want to lie down and try the bassinet feature without a fuss, but I would have loved this when she was younger. Very convenient for a young baby! As is the ability to connect a Graco carseat. I love that you can face the carseat either direction like the regular seat. As far as the storage goes, oh my goodness, there is so much!! You could easily pile a lot of baby gear and blankets in this stroller! Compared to our other strollers this one wins for most storage space! However, it is disappointing that the maximum weight recommended is 10 pounds. So much room for such a small weight limit... At 5'10," the height of the handle bar feels perfectly comfortable when I push this stroller. I love how much the canopy covers the child when you have it all the way unfolded. Between sunlight or rain, a big canopy is an essential to me, and this is a good one. Folding the stroller is pretty quick as long as you have the seat facing the correct direction. I still have not fully mastered unfolding it. It takes me awhile to find the clip holding it together, and it is awkward pulling the sets of wheels apart with the canopy piece in the way. The stroller does stand up by itself once folded, but it does still take up a fair amount of space. The strapping in design is too fiddly for my liking, but it does serve its purpose. Other strollers I have used have a better strap design. You have to connect the over-the-shoulder strap to the waist strap every single time on each side. I wish Graco could redesign their 5 point harness strap design for less hassle. Other Graco products I own are the same way. Even though this stroller is not my favorite, my daughters do both enjoy it a lot! Going for a stroll is one of our favorite things to do, and they love the option of looking at me when we are out and about! While there isn't a whole lot to complain about with the Modes Nest stroller, this would not likely be the stroller I would grab as I head out the door. If my daughter was still under a year old however, it would be the one I grab! It came with a stroller seat that can be converted into a bassinet. Everything came in one gigantic box and assemble was pretty easy even with a preschooler and a first grader trying their best to distract me. Upon completion, I let our 11 month old test it out. Here are our thoughts: -Nice option for completely flat naps when on the go, however in order to convert from sitting to laying, someone needs to hold the baby. -Stroller glides across various surfaces smoothly and is easy to maneuver. -I loved that we could place the seat facing us or street facing. -I am a petite person so it was nice to be able to adjust the seat at various heights. -The basket underneath is gigantic and perfect when running errands. -Although it is always nice to have a cupholder, having it on the side of the stroller (as pictured) isn't convenient as it easily falls off if bumped...maybe place it at the handle as with previous models. -We love the faux leather handle when pushing the stroller, however I am a petite person so it was at an awkward height for me to push whereas it was perfect for my 5'10 tall husband...I felt like my 6 year old pushing a stroller. -If you are familiar with Graco strollers, then you can probably find the latch to unfold the stroller without any hesitation. Sadly we struggled with finding the latch and unlatching it all the time, guess we will have to continue to use it until we get the hang of it. -If you have a smallish trunk, removing the seat/bassinet allows you to place the frame in easily and then tuck the seat/bassinet next to it. -If you do not remove the seat/bassinet and you fold it, the inside part of the seat where baby sits/sleeps is completely exposed so probably not a good stroller for checking in at an airport gate without a bag. -We have a three kiddo household so being able to fold up a stroller quickly and corral the older kids into the van is crucial; with the difficulty of finding the latch and using both hands it is a bit cumbersome. Overall although I wanted to love love this stroller, it just isn't the right fit for our family. However, I do think it would be perfect for first time parents, parents/caregivers taking baby out into the neighborhood strolls to nap in bassinet mode, or running errands in the city without having to fold/unfold it multiple times.
Date published: 2020-02-12

Rated 4 out of 5 by lizh945 from Versatile stroller [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The “slide 2 me” concept is really neat, so I was interested to see what this stroller would be like in person. I have an infant and a toddler so I thought this stroller could be really useful! Being able to turn the seat outward or inward was really appealing to me. First things first, I want to thank Stellar Product Testing Panel for this stroller. However, putting the stroller together was a little frustrating. It just wasn’t intuitive to me at all, I think I’m fairly competent when it comes to this stuff so I’m not sure if anyone else had this problem. Aside from setting it up, opening and closing the stroller was easy and it’s nice that when it’s closed it stands up on its own. Not all strollers do that. The height adjustment of the seat was easy too, there are 3 different height settings. Using the stroller with the car seat was super simple, it’s nice being able to position baby closer to you. I don’t think I’d put a large toddler in the very highest setting though, it seemed kind of awkward to me. My son is very large, so he didn’t fit in the bassinet, but I turned it back to the toddler seat and that worked well for my daughter. It’s fairly simple to make the transition from one to the other. One of the best things is the basket! You could easily go grocery shopping, run errands, or do whatever and have room for all your stuff. My diaper bag fit easily in there. This could even be a good stroller for Disney! All in all, my kids enjoyed the stroller and for the price this is a great option if you are not looking to spend double or triple the price for a convertible stroller.
Date published: 2020-02-12

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kbondi from Amazing stroller for baby to toddler [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m super impressed with this stroller. I can’t choose a favorite feature but I love having the ability to adjust the height when my toddler is riding. I love having him on the highest setting when facing me because we can interact and it’s super quick and easy to flip the seat around if he wants to see everything in front of him. The stroller rides and turns so smoothly and folds up extremely easily, almost on its own and then even stands up without falling over. It’s very lightweight and was easy to move around my garage and in and out of the car. The basket underneath has much more room than any other stroller I’ve used and the sunshade is large and sturdy but is easily adjustable. My ONLY complaint is that my 3 year old was very excited to try it out but her head was too tall to fit and she is very small for her age so I’m sad that I’d only be able to use the stroller a couple years since I love it so much. I don’t currently have an infant so I didn’t get to try the bassinet but I love that the seat changes into one so it’s not an extra part to store. At first, I was intimidated by everything this stroller claimed to do. A bassinet, a toddler stroller & the ability to snap in a car seat to just the frame. I thought it would be difficult to maneuver and be bulky, but I was wrong! The stroller was easy to put together & with no tools necessary, mostly clicking & locking into place. The directions made it easy to figure out how to change it from one mode to the next. I have a one year old daughter & thought the toddler seat was great. It was easy to adjust for her & she was comfortable in it. I love how big the basket is in the bottom of the stroller, perfect to fit the diaper bag or whatever else I need to bring along. The travel system comes with the base, a car seat, and the best feature - a stroller that will go from newborn to toddler! My favorite feature is the bassinet/toddler seat. Other systems force you to buy a bassinet separately - but the Modes Nest travel system makes this so easy. The seat simply lays down and turns into a bassinet, and you can do this with one hand! The bassinet is nice and large - my newborn has enjoyed napping in it, and I love that I don’t have to hurry to take him out when he falls asleep because it safely lays flat. The bassinet also raises and lowers, bringing the baby closer to you when you are on a walk, but then lowering easily if you want to sit down and easily see into the stroller. The stroller is also really smooth - my five year old can easily maneuver it and my newborn stays asleep even on a bumpy walk. It is also really lightweight and folds up smaller than you would think since you can take the seat off and store separately. The car seat is easy to use and install, with a nice tilt feature on the base and a single hand button to move the handle up and down. I also love how high the handle is - making it easy to carry. If you want to just use the infant car seat for a quick run into the store, you can clip that into the frame instead. The color is a nice neutral and the fabric has a bit of texture to it. Features that would be nice to have would be a full shade/cover for rainy days, and a way to extend the handle on the stroller. While this system is lightweight and very sleek looking, I wasn't impressed overall with the functionality of the system. Setup of the stroller was very frustrating. There were a lot of small pieces to put together, and the instructions included with it were seriously lacking. Once we got the stroller put together we found the process of converting the seat from upright to bassinet tricky. The instructions weren't helpful at all and we had to look up a video on the internet to figure it out. Also, when we attach the car seat to the stroller we find it is very difficult to remove it. Overall, while the appearance of the Modes(TM) Nest Travel System is very nice, and having the option to use the stroller in bassinet mode and also adjust the height are great, I find the difficulty of use to be a deal breaker for me.
Date published: 2020-02-11

Rated 5 out of 5 by business mom from Goldilocks Stroller [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am reviewing the Graco Modes nest travel system. This is a very interesting and exciting product. It's important to note that I have both a toddler and infant and have enough strollers in the garage that my husband rolled his eyes when I told him about this one. It's a goldilocks kind of thing in my house. I'm short, my husbands tall. Jogging strollers are too big for shopping, weigh a ton and take up too much space in the car. Smaller ones don't hold up to pavement and not enough room for my husbands stride.... this type of thing resulted in embarrassing number of strollers in our garage. Our first kid came along during the downfall of the large big box baby store and the clearance prices caught us. We love them all in their own right- but hate to have none that are just right! Until now... We are Graco snugride click connect fans. We have used them with both kids. It's awesome to have a base in each. It's so easy to use and reduces opportunity for user error in the safety department. Totally worth the cost despite having to buy a larger seat at a later date. Being able to move a sleeping baby without taking them out of the seat is priceless. Especially if you have more than one child. It's easy to install and simple to use. Highly rated for safety. One improvement to this seat from our previous versions is the ability to use one hand to adjust the handle. With short arms or while holding the hand of another child, the two hand operation of previous models was a struggle at times. You will see this referenced in my photos. The sunshade canopy material of this seat is different- more flexible, soft and breathable, but still adequately blocks elements. It meets the high standards you would expect from Graco. So moving onto the stroller. Let's start from the top. The handle height is placed in a way that isn't too tall for me to use as a shorter person, but is high enough and far enough away from the wheel base that my husband can get a full stride. There are existing cup holders and also room for stroller accessories, to hang a diaper bag etc. if you want them. Its a nice leather like material instead of the spongy handle that it typically used. The canopy is oversized in a good way. It blocks out light that is more parallel with the child's face because it comes down further. This is important for morning and evening walks when the sun isn't directly overhead, and also allows it to be effective if you have the child in the bassinet setting. UPF 50 certified. Good stuff. The toddler setting is roomy and is what you have come to expect for a standard stroller. It reclines, sits up, has a snack tray. Roomy enough, all safety features intact. Being able to lift them up closer or move further down is a nice upgrade. This also helps create more room in the basket below if needed. Transitioning from toddler, to bassinet, to adding the car seat is simple, but you must read the instructions. There are different latches than what I was used to. It's intuitive after you find them, but the first time was a bit of trial and error. The bassinet is really great. If you live in an area that gets hot in the summer, putting your kid in a stroller while latched into a car seat is a bit hot and sweaty. Depending where you are, this can even be dangerous. The bassinet feature resolves some of that by allowing you to strap your infant into a bassinet where they can get more airflow, while also shading them from the sun. It can be completely flat or slightly recline. My baby loves this. It also gives a great option for being at sporting events, bbq's etc. because you have a safe comfortable place for your baby to relax. Car seats are safe- but not so fun to hang out in all day! Strap on a stroller fan and you are good to go. That being said, I still use the car seat click in feature a lot because I have a baby who falls asleep in the car and doesn't mind being in it when it's not hot. Clicking your baby in for a quick walk, shopping etc. while still in the car seat is a breeze. Just make sure it is on toddler setting, click the seat in and go. Same thing you do to put it in and take it out of the car. You can move the seat up and down to make them closer or further from your own position pushing the stroller. My kid likes eye contact- so I can do that and not run into anything when she is closer! The storage basket is the largest of all the strollers I have. Win. Moving the kid higher gives you more space. Enough said. Wheels. Light weight strollers typically have wheels that don't hold up to hot pavement. That's how we ended up with the jogging strollers. These aren't quite jogging stroller level, but are a hybrid somewhere in between that and basic stroller wheels. So I expect it to hold up fairly well. The size and material seem like they would hold up well in the grass and to light off road hiking etc. If you are a marathon runner, you would definitely want a jogger instead for that- but do yourself a favor and get this one for everything else! Easy to maneuver, good turn radius. Folds up very small and is very light weight. This is super helpful for traveling/ vacations etc. My husband said it was easy to put together. The instructions were still in the plastic bag when I got home from work and it was done correctly. So it is fairly intuitive. Overall it's a great stroller. It will work in a lot of different situations and is "just right" in so many ways. The stroller base is very simple to open and close and the infant car seat and toddler seat both attach with a simple click into place. I have been using it with my newborn, so we use either infant car seat or the bassinet option and I’ve been pleased with how simple it is to convert the toddler seat to a bassinet. The bassinet is very roomy, making it great for naps on the go. The only downside to the toddler seat is that it is a little large to store. It would be nice if it folded in half for storage. The adjustable height option is very handy. I love having it up on the highest setting so I don’t have to crouch down at an awkward angle to check on my little one. My only issue is that the brakes are sticky, requiring quite a bit of effort when trying to disengage them. The infant car seat and base are easy to install. The leveling foot and the level indicator really help to make sure everything is installed properly. I do wish this seat featured the InRight LATCH system, instead of the LATCH clips, as the clips can be a pain to use. I do love how lightweight the seat is and it has a great oversized canopy in a really nice fabric. Overall, I love the look of this travel system. The materials are sleek and minimal and it mimics the look and feel of more expensive options at a fraction of the price. It’s a solid option at this price point. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for the opportunity to try it out! Pros: - The car seat handle adjusts with the touch of a single button, rather than having to press two at the same time while also holding a baby. Installing the base into the car seemed to be standard difficulty level compared to other car seat bases I’ve installed. The car seat snaps into and releases from the base seamlessly. - The stroller is easy to steer, even with one hand. It folds up easily too and stays standing when folded. - There is SO MUCH room in the storage basket, and it is expandable! - Stroller assembly was straight-forward and quick. You don’t need any special tools. With the touch of some buttons, you can switch the seat from forward- to rear-facing, as well as exchange the toddler seat for the car seat. The stroller seat height adjusts smoothly and simply, bringing baby right where you need him or her. - I love that there aren’t a bunch of extra costs. Accessories like a parent cup holder and kid snack tray are included. Not needing a separate bassinet attachment (like some other brands) means less extra parts (and lower cost) too! Conversion to the bassinet involved cinching and releasing some straps underneath and took very little time. - What a perk that this will last from the newborn days to toddlerhood! Cons: - The wheels are a solid rubber material, so I could foresee rough terrain making dents and gouges. Other than that, the fabric and frame seemed durable and like they would last. - The included newborn insert for the car seat worked well for us, but if you have a very tiny newborn, I think you may want more head support than is included. - I wish there was an optional clip-on standing board attachment for big brother or sister to hitch a ride. Overall, I was very pleased with this travel system. If you have multiple children closer in age, it may not be the most practical, but I think it is an excellent option if you have one baby.
Date published: 2020-02-10

Rated 5 out of 5 by cydneyboel from High Quality and Flexible Travel System [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This travel system is incredibly functional, flexible, and high quality. I love that I’m able to use it with both our toddler and our newborn. The assembly was a bit tricky for us and it takes a bit of work to transition from the toddler seat to the bassinet and back again. However, we love the different seating options and being able to change between front facing to rear facing. It’s also nice to have the option to raise and lower the seat - we preferred to bring the bassinet up closer to us but then lower the toddler seat down. The storage basket on the stroller is also huge and very accessible, even with a child in the seat. The quality on the stroller seems high and the design is modern. The leather handle is a nice touch but the wheels are plastic which makes it feel a little shaky and cheap when walking outside - I would have preferred if the wheels were made of rubber. The included carseat is lightweight, easy to install in the car, and high quality. The canopy is made of a soft, neoprene type material that does a great job of blocking out the sun. I love that you can remove the toddler seat and attach the carseat to the stroller frame. I also appreciated that the carseat is more on the narrow side - it allows more room in the backseat of our car with multiple carseats. Once the product arrived, unboxing was a breeze, installation was super easy even those whom hate assembly can swiftly put it altogether. My first impression of this stroller was TALL. I'm a short person (5'2-157 cm) and this stroller is nearly my height. The seat is really spacious for a toddler that my four years old gets a little lost in it (she's petite herself though with an average height and weighs 17 kg) her younger sister (2 years old, weighs 13 kg) hopped on - rather squished her- and it was surprisingly moderate while maneuvering it around. However the seating is so big that the snack bar was above her head level so I'm unsure if I assembled it right or my kids are too small. Everything aside, you can turn the stroller with a little force by one hand easily. The brakes are somewhat sturdy. The stroller itself isn't really as lightweight as Ive hoped but folding/unfolding is fast to figure them out. The wheels are good but the front ones need a strong push for them to step over hurdles as they tend to get stuck easily. The canopy is really nice and it goes a long way, protecting our little ones from the heat adequately. The cup holder is neat I use it for my phone haha. The storage underneath is really refreshing since it's wide enough for my two years old to lay down there with her legs stretched out which is a big WIN for me since I tend to overpack!! Closing the stroller and carrying it around can be a little awkward with the seat being in the way. I'd recommend this stroller occasionally but would not call it lightweight. But convenient to feel like you're really close to your kid. Feels more like a moving chair than a stroller honestly.
Date published: 2020-02-10

Rated 4 out of 5 by stgrill from Great stroller for first time moms! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this stroller through the Stellar Product testing panel. We currently have the Graco Modes 3 Lite DLX, so it's been fun to compare the two. The Modes Nest is awesome because it has the bassinet in addition to the toddler seat and the ability to attach an infant car seat. The directions were simple and easy to follow and assembly was quick. I only used the toddler seat when pushing the stroller because my toddlers are both out of infant carseats; however, they both loved how high up they sat in the stroller and were delighted when I adjusted the seat higher and lower. My older son (almost 3) now always requests to ride in "the big stroller" because of how high up he sits. It was also super easy to switch the position of the seat to face in and out--and easy to do on the fly. The Modes Nest is large, with tons of room in the basket beneath for storage. I found it very easy to collapse and, in spite of its size, it easily fit into the small trunk of our car. My one complaint is that I found the handle bar to be rather large in circumference and less comfortable to hold onto than our other stroller. It is easy to maneuver.
Date published: 2020-02-10

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Love love love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just had my first and got this new stroller per a friends recommendation. To say the least I was so excited - I have four children all under the age of six and although at this point I largely have everything I could need in terms of gear, the flip side to this is that the gear is getting older, has been around the block more than a few times, and it is rare to try something new because I am just trying to get through the last kiddo. However, I have used a ton of different gear in my tenure as a parent, and I can definitely tell you what works and what isn't worth the money. The stroller came in a box and needed to be assembled which was relatively easy to do. My first impression is that the stroller has a sleek design, looked like a high-end stroller due to the black frame and heather gray fabric, and ironically reminded me of the stroller I currently was using. It has a large basket underneath that is easily accessibly from both sides (this is very important) and came with a cup holder and toddler tray which is huge! It may sound silly to be excited about these little additions, but I paid a great deal of money for my existing stroller and I had to buy the cup holder and toddler tray separately. Also, when the stroller was collapsed, the overall frame and seat was relatively light. This seems like a small detail when all you have to do is collapse the stroller and take it in and out of car, but a heavy stroller can take its toll after awhile. This stroller also has the ability to be used three ways: as a traditional stroller for infants and toddlers; the seat can invert to become a bassinet (genius as many high end strollers offer a bassinet option but again, needs to be purchased separately); and as an infant car sear carrier. Also, the seat can move up or down on the frame which is a great option especially if you are a shorter parent (moving it down allows for a better viewpoint) or if you want to create more space in the basket underneath. In terms of functionality, this stroller is a good stroller. If you are a first time parent, and need a reliable stroller, Modes(TM) Nest gives you the sleek design of a high end model without the high price tag. However, as an experienced parent, I noticed a couple of things that were not ideal. As I mentioned earlier, the seat has the ability to collapse into a bassinet. There are a few things you need to do to make the seat a bassinet so the seat itself is not necessarily unreliable (it will not collapse into the bassinet function without physical manipulation) but due to its convertibility, the seat seems very pliable and flexible. My toddler was trying to sit forward in the seat and I noticed that the entire back of the seat was pulling way forward (almost inverting in the opposite direction). It seemed very "squishy" Also the seating position is very ram rod straight. You are able to recline the seat but your options seem to be a fairly complete recline or a ram rod straight position (whereas my current stroller allows for variations of recline). The other non-ideal item I would mention is that there are two foot brakes (one on each side of the rear wheels), but you need to engage both separately to engage the brakes. They should design the brakes to engage simultaneously regardless of which brake pad is suppressed. Lastly, this stroller did not have great one-hand maneuverability. This is so important when it comes to a good stroller. So many times as a parent you are trying to accomplish two things at once and I know that I always like to have great control with one hand if I need to utilize this option. Overall, this is a good stroller especially for a first time parent. Some of the things I mentioned above would not be obvious or seem like a necessity unless you have some experience. The price point is good and overall this stroller is good option! We wished we would have had this for our first. It truly is the ultimate in traveling with a little one. I love the lifespan I'll get from this Modes System. I love that the stroller lets me adjust the seat height and that I can have my little on look out or towards me and then also lift him up closer to me as well. We also enjoy that it has a bassinet function as well with the seat. The adjustable height of the stroller and having the infant car seat system along with it, making it a quick and easy transition from car, to stroller, to home etc is our favorite features. We didn't have an issues with the installation of the car seat base, set-up of stroller or any of the transitions like seat to bassinet or car seat to stroller back to car or even adjusting the height of the stroller bring our little one closer. The overall design of this Modes Nest Travel system stroller is truly ideal for any parent on the go that needs something that is quick and easy to use but, also safe and comforting for little one and parent.
