We have been using Halo SleepSacks for many years now, but this is by far the best one we&rsquo;ve owned. My son is only 2 months, he spent 10 days in the NICU and he is already at the maximum of this 0-3 month swaddle. He could probably use this a bit longer, but it's not very roomy length wise. Also, the velcro allowed very secure fit, however, because of that it was noisy and difficult to open. It made for very loud and challenging middle of the night diaper changes, waking my son more easily. I did like how easy it was to have him sleep with both arms in, one arm out or both arms out though. After receiving the item being part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, my wife and I did not hesitate on using the product. The color was stylish but more importantly my newborn son fit right into it. The zipper going from the bottom to top is a great idea, making diaper changes in the middle of the night a breeze. The material is super soft and keeps the baby&rsquo;s temperature in a cool state. From the first night, he slept more than the usual nights. He did so for the next three nights, all with this Halo SleepSack. He was also unable to squirm out of the swaddle as he had done previously with other swaddles and blankets. I have used Halo SleepSacks (older models) with each of my kids going back to 2011. The general design is unchanged (zip baby inside and use wings to provide snuggle comfort feeling). What I like about the new design is the fact that the fabric is a lot lighter without compromising the functionality and comfort for the baby. It&rsquo;s great for the summer&rsquo;s hot months. My baby stayed comfortable and did not overheat, even when the AC went out. Once swaddled my baby is generally asleep in under 5 minutes and stays asleep for many hours. Another great feature is that the zipper is &ldquo;upside down&rdquo; - meaning it starts under the chin and stops at the feet when fully zipped. This makes diaper changes easier and the zipper doesn&rsquo;t run the risk of catching the baby under the chin. The only thing that I would improve is the Velcro/hook and hook and loop area. Even after a week of use and 3 washes (machine washer and dryer) it is still very stiff and clings to itself extremely forcefully. I have to physically wrestle it apart with an excessive amount of force. These Swaddles are so soft and stretchy. They wash well and don&rsquo;t seem to retain stains. They are lightweight and I do believe my newborn sleeps more comfortably in the breathable material. I like the printed wrap instructions on the inside flap and the heavy duty zipper that zips top to bottom. The top of the zipper ends are also enclosed in a soft extra fabric flap, which prevents accidental scratching on my newborn&rsquo;s skin. The Velcro inside is fine toothed, so it catches less on other materials and is designed to just hold fast to the other arm flap panel. These are great design features. If I could change anything about this design, I&rsquo;d cut the Velcro strips to half their size. It really is a STRONG Velcro bond to the flaps and I sometimes have a hard time loosening them in the middle of the night when I&rsquo;m so tired but need to feed my newborn. My newborn was very comfortable in the swaddle and it did seem to keep her a comfortable temperature. The velcro was very strong, so strong it was hard to get apart the first few time, but I appreciate that it was strong so I assume it would last effectively for a long time. My favorite feature though is the double zipper. I love that I could change my daughter&rsquo;s diaper without undoing the whole thing! That saved so much time and frustration for both of us. My only compliant is that despite tightly swaddling her, somehow she still gets her arms out after a few hours at night. I guess she is just super strong. Otherwise though, the sleep sack works great and we will continue to use it. But sometimes she would wiggle her arms free and then wake up. And I could never figure out what was different about how I wrapped her, so I couldn't prevent it from happening. Also, the top edge of the &quot;wing&quot; flops down and sticks to the Velcro, which then pulls the stitching. Probably not a big deal, but I worry that it will affect the longevity. I have no idea if the material actually controls temperature, but my baby did always seem comfortable. Overall, I liked the swaddle and will continue to use it. I maybe have a very slight preference for ones without Velcro that are easier to use/harder for baby to escape. I tried one that was super soft but so stretchy my little Houdini learned how to get his little arms out by night two, it also already showed signs of wear and tear. I then tried another one that was more sturdy but super rough to the touch and gave my little guy a rash around his shoulders. I then tried one that boasted being sturdy and soft, but it was so thick that my little dude was dripping sweat in it, making me fear it was a SIDS risk! This sleep sack is the perfect combo of sturdy and lightweight but still relatively soft! It&rsquo;s not the softest fabric I&rsquo;ve ever felt in my life, but much softer than two of the three other sleep sacs I&rsquo;ve tried and I believe it will actually hold up in time! For years we have used the fleece halo sleep sack and have loved it and preferred it to the MANY sleep sacks we have tried. I already gave the regular sack five stars, but the Ideal Temp swaddle is next level and would be 5+ in my book! I love the standard features, the Velcro swaddle arms that gets the perfect, adjustable swaddle; the zipper that starts at the bottom for uninterrupted nighttime diaper changes, and the option for several different swaddle configurations (two arms down, one arm down, both arms free); but the Ideal Temp feature has got to be my new all time favorite. In this summer heat, I get stressed about my baby being too hot or too cold because of the AC vs the 100 degree weather outside, and this swaddle truly takes that stress away and has kept my baby&rsquo;s temperature steady and regulated through the night and through nap times. He stays snug as a bug the whole time he wears it. My Love Bug is medically fragile w a number of issues. 1 of them being similar to hip dysplasia, so his swaddles has to be a tad bigger in the lower area for his legs, so this swaddle was absolutely perfect for him. He seems to like it a great deal, &amp; woke up much much less during the night, so naturally I&rsquo;m a fan. The more sleep he gets, the more sleep I get, so everyone&rsquo;s happy. I really like the colors of this new Halo Swaddle. The blue has more of a denim look to it, so I think it makes it look a little more modern than the other Halo swaddles w the softer tones, &amp; I like that also. Another thing I like about the swaddle is that this little Houdini has only managed to get 1 little arm out, unlike in the past, the little joker is sometimes able to get both arms out, &amp; is wearing it like a dress or toga by the end of the night somehow. One thing I didn&rsquo;t like about this swaddle can be good or bad, the Velcro is the best I&rsquo;ve ever seen on anything. Ever! That&rsquo;s a good thing because he can&rsquo;t manage to get out of it very easily, but a bad thing if I need to get him out of it &amp; try to keep him sleeping. Unfortunately, my daughter was not a fan of the Halo SleepSack Swaddle Ideal Temp. The aesthetic of the sleep sack swaddle is appealing. I loved the neutral oat color with the pop of hot pink. I wanted to love this swaddle sack because of the versatility it offered (arms in, arms out, arms across chest) as well as the temperature regulation aspect. When placing my daughter in the swaddle sack for her naps, she would always startle awake secondary to the sound of the Velcro. I could never get it just right the first time. It would take multiple attempts of undoing and redoing the Velcro portion. This would inevitability wake her up and she would cry. I would settle her down and it would happen again. The swaddles we have and used for our first two babies are halo swaddles. Our third baby was just born mid July and the weight and material of this swaddle is perfect for the summer. Dressing a baby for sleep when it is hot out, but the air conditioning is cool inside can be tricky. This has kept my newborn comfortable each night we have used it so far. The bright pink outline on the swaddle is a fun design addition, and also helps to see the swaddle area for middle of the night diaper changes. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the velcro. It was very strong and was hard to undo at time and was also fairly loud. Overall, this is a great addition to our swaddles, especially for the middle of summer. I received this swaddle as part of the Stellar product testing panel when my newborn was a few days old, around the time I was researching the cost of a smart bassinet in the middle of the night. I had previously used Halo sleep sacks with an older child but had not tried the swaddles for a newborn. Thankfully the swaddle has helped and no expensive bassinets were needed! My little Houdini likes his hands to be by his face but still can&rsquo;t break out of the swaddle. Living in a hot climate, I was hesitant to use too many layers as overheating can be dangerous. This swaddle seems to be a more appropriate weight while still allowing for swaddling. My favorite feature is that it zips up to his chin, unlike other swaddles where you have to guess how high to put them. This protects him from wiggling out and covering his face with excess fabric. I love the bright orange piping as it is easily visible. Thank you. At first I was skeptical, the fabric is quite light and I didn&rsquo;t think it was going to make the cut for our summer little one. But it is fantastic, it is easy to get nice and snug, the inner zip up suit along with the exterior swaddle part adds a good layer that Does Not Move or loosen once swaddled. The Velcro is very strong and is less loud than normal Velcro. That added a great feature I didn&rsquo;t know I needed, especially with that startle reflex. The design is great, with the reverse zipper zipping away from baby, making it easy to change baby while still swaddled. The neutral color with the pop along the edges is quite cute and easy directions on where to find the opening for swaddling and un-swaddling. I also love that the instructions of use are printed inside the garment so anyone can use and swaddle baby with ease. Baby seemed to really enjoy the swaddle fell asleep within minutes of putting her in it the first time. She was quite pleased and comfortable and has definitely been a favorite for her. She is quite petite, starting at only 6lbs and I thought it was going to drown in it, but it fits snug and she has room to grow for long term use up to the weight/size limit. There is quite a bit of room at the bottom for her to wiggle her feet and legs, but she doesn&rsquo;t seem to mind that at all. Overall, we really enjoy this swaddle and think it is ideal for babies born/use in warmer weather. I love how the fabric is breathable yet keeps them warm at the same time. Its temperature technology was a big selling point for me. It grows with your baby to a basic sleep sack, so you will get a ton of use long term out of it. It zips from the bottom so it was very easy to do diaper changes if need be in the middle of the night. The two things to note on this swaddle- the Velcro is extremely strong and loud, making it hard to get baby out of it without having to wake them up fully. The other point to add is the weight listed for sizing does seem slightly off. My son is over 13 pounds and the Small is still pretty big on him. I would size down to be on the safe side. My baby will not tolerate a soiled diaper for any length of time, so if he went in the middle of getting him to sleep I would have to completely unswaddle him and then start all over trying to get him to sleep. I love the size of the arm covers and the strong velcro. He&rsquo;s not able to bust out of the swaddle or get his hand out the top. That said, undoing the velcro can be a little noisy if the baby is asleep. The fabric does seem to have some benefit in regulating his temperature as it is very soft and light. I&rsquo;m glad to have a more breathable fabric in the middle of summer. Speaking of summer, I am very pleased how much leg room he has compared to other brands. First thing I noticed was the velcro on this swaddler is extremely secure so once it's on baby will have trouble breaking it open. I love the material they used-- not the color, which is beige, but the weight and breathability of it. I live in Florida and it has been a hot summer which means a good mix of heat and AC but my baby was completely comfortable in this swaddle and had no issues with the temperature while in this particular swaddle where others would have made her too warm. I also adored that they had a reversed zipper so you unzip the swaddle from the bottom because this allowed me to keep baby's arms contained in the swaddle while I changed her diapers-- something I especially appreciated in the middle of the night. This will be my 3rd time using a Halo sleepsack. The first two were used with prior babies but this sleepsack is different. More notable a huge difference, other than the awesome qualities listed above is the &quot;fastening&quot; of the swaddle. The flaps seem to have a plastic that doesn't seem to be sticky enough but holds so tightly to the swaddle that you'd rip it unswaddling the baby. It was even hard to open the swaddle from the packaging. After managing to get baby in the swaddle unswaddling her was such a task that her dad thought I was joking about not being able to free her promptly. Alas, besides how securely the swaddle fastens, it's still a great swaddle. My baby&rsquo;s startle reflex wakes him up so often in the middle of the night, so regular swaddle blankets make getting a good nights sleep difficult. With this sleep sack we are both able to gain a solid 5 hours of sleep at a time (which is amazing compared to the every hour and half that we were getting before.) I feel that the Velcro bands on the sleep sack really make my baby feel safe and secure and almost like he is being held. He does not wake up when I place him in the bassinet after nursing and rocking him to sleep in this sleep sack either. I will be purchasing some more of these. I do like how there are holes for the arms too for when they start to roll over. That makes these sleep sacks even more versatile and useable.
