Unfortunately, the receiver doesn&rsquo;t reach very far. I live in a 1200 sq ft house and the signal doesn&rsquo;t reach to one of my bedrooms. I&rsquo;ve been using this brand for fifteen years. The products are always great quality and I feel confident in using them. I no longer have babies but my children are still young. With the floor plan of our home they are one to two floors beneath us at night time and may be one floor beneath us during the day. Cameras provide peace of mind so you have extra eyes to keep your children safe. These were very easy to set up. They added features are really nice to have. I like that I can see the room temperature and change the night light colors. I can talk through the camera too. I like that there&rsquo;s a monitor for viewing that I can keep in our bedroom but I can also view the cameras from my phone using the app. No matter where I am at in my home I can view the living room or their room. It&rsquo;s also nice to be able to see them when they have a sitter or if my husband wants to check in while he&rsquo;s at work. The video quality isn&rsquo;t the greatest but it&rsquo;s good enough for me. It does have a slight delay and lags some if there&rsquo;s a lot of motion. You can also switch it to night vision and zoom in. I would say that is when it is used in a babies room where the baby is not yet very mobile and you do not need to constantly be panning and zooming around to see what is going on. With previous monitors we used, we were able to pan around a room and so not having this feature on this unit is a bit of an adjustment however when used in a room with a sleeping baby and not much else going on this is not too much of a concern. Things that we like are the temp and humidity sensors, however we have yet to actually test their accuracy. The light mode and sounds are a nice little extra. Battery life seems pretty good when fully charged. Im not thrilled about having an app integrated with the unit. This monitor seems to do a little bit of everything. I started out by making sure it was fully charged. Then I just played around with it. I learned that you can change the coloring on the screen. It has a section on the monitor for playing sounds or lullaby music when needed. There is around ten different settings for that. You can hear it and so can the baby. If you wanted to you could choose to set a timer so it turns off after so long or leave it on. You also have the ability to push a button and talk to the baby to try and soothe them. You can also control the volume and I was amazed with how good it sounds, as long as you do not get to close to the camera. If you're to close you get a lot of feedback. Another great feature on this system, is that you can download the app and still make sure baby is okay when you are not home. This gives me such peace of mind knowing everything is okay when mommy is not around. The monitor can also tell you the temperature in the room and even the humidity level. At night time you can still have the color monitor to be able to see your little one. Oh and let's not forget the zoom on this. You can zoom in and be able to see them breath. That right there is the selling point. The only thing I would want different is to be able to make the camera wireless or wired. If the power goes out I would love a back up option for it to continue working until battery went dead. I didn&rsquo;t keep track of hours, but I was surprised at the battery capacity of the display screen. It rarely needed recharging. The screen is larger than my iPhone X (10). The reach of the camera to the handheld monitor was just a hair short for reaching from one side of my house to the other, but I have a very long house. The sound is loud and clear. The night vision is perfectly clear. I like the light options on the camera base, as my kids prefer a dim nightlight. The app may need updating, because my techy husband said he wasn&rsquo;t able to get the Wi-Fi viewing option to work on his iPhone 11. Everything to mount the cameras is included. The viewing area is very wide angle, so even a huge room can be see. In all directions. I&rsquo;d mount it high on a wall, or put it in a corner. I had mine sitting on a table, centered on the wall, and there were times I wish the camera panned. If it were placed differently, there would be no reason to pan. This has been great for use as a portable computer I&rsquo;m monitor, moving it to the playroom so I can keep an eye on them while I&rsquo;m in the kitchen. Setting up the monitor and app were both simple. I just had to scan a QR code and connect to my home Wi-Fi. I love all the features that this monitor has. I can see my baby clearly in the screen, play pre recorded melodies and sounds, set a variety of night light colors and talk to my child through the monitor. The parent viewer has a long lasting battery so I don&rsquo;t have to keep it plugged in all the time. The image is clear and defined, the built in features are very impressive. The motion sound alerts have really helped, as my toddler usually wakes up in the middle of the night and attempts to play. I'm able to easily redirect him back into his bed by use of the two way audio. I love the remote features using the leap frog app, especially when I'm at work and I'm able to check in and let my little guy know I'm thinking of him. I keep the parent unit on my nightstand, but overall I prefer to use the app. My son loves the night light and melody feature. Setting this up in our home was easy, and having two cameras in this package was an added bonus. The low light camera color view is awesome. Another plus is that it emits very little noise, so it doesn't disrupt the baby at all while asleep. I really want to get another monitor like this, it's been more than useful. Loop 1 is a closed loop 2.4GHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum, and is always on, working out of the box, connecting the Parent Unit to the Camera. No one but the parent unit sees this feed. There is a second mode, called WiFi, that can allow the camera to send the audio/video feed to your local router, and from there out to the internet. This WiFi mode is in the OFF position from the factory BY DEFAULT. To enable WiFi, you need to pair the camera to your router (this is a one time setup, you do not have to repeat this after the first time), then you need to download the Free Leapfrog App from the App store. Create a password protected account with the App in order to access the feed from any smart device (iphone, Android, tablet) connected to the web (without the App and password, no access), but there&#39;s still one more level of protection, you have to toggle the WiFi ON from the parent unit. You can also toggle it back OFF at any time, making anyone with the APP unable to see anything. You control the WiFi from the Parent unit, after it&#39;s set up. So you can turn it On to let Grandparents see at a specific time, or when you leave home for a short business trip, then toggle it Off when you no longer want the WiFi available.
