It does provide shade while in the sun. Having the seat belt is nice. The handle can be used in the front or in the back. The only thing negative that I can say is the front wheels do not move so if you need to turn you have to assist with your foot. The in-laws came up with this toy for them at our house for Christmas. I was unable to assemble the drink holder and canopy assembly because the plastic nuts and screws would not line up, so we left this off. The sun canopy looks silly anyway. Then the older one wanted to push the younger. Since the front wheels are not on swivels, you have to tip it up to turn. Our older one didn't, and the torque broke the handle at the attachment point. Already this toy is only partially representative of what is advertised. And there is no way for the child to push it along with their feet, because there are no cut-ins in the floor to allow for little legs and feet outward. I think this might work for a child under a year old being pushed or pulled as a poor substitute for a real stroller but I can't see any adult keeping older children happy in this toy for long.
