Due to there design its created so the baby sucks in less air while feeding, thus producing less air or gas which is typically uncomfortable for your baby. The soft yellow is great for either gender and would nake a great baby shower gift! The bottle is on the small side which is great for a small infant who us only eating 1 or 2 ozs at a time but as your baby gets older and needs more formula/breastmilk the bottle will be to small, other than that we love it! As a primarily breastfed baby, it&rsquo;s hard to find a nipple shape and flow that works well, but she loved it! Pros: The anti colic valve on the bottle has to be the best and unique feature of this bottle. The vented base allows air to flow through from the bottom reducing the amount of air she swallowed. She typically sucks the nipple inward and that did not happen at all with this bottle. It is also very easy to clean! Comes apart in 6 sections, bottle cap, nipple, nipple base, bottle, base vent, and base. Cons: The bottle does not work well in a bottle warmer due to the big base. This wasn&rsquo;t that big of a deal to us, we simply heated up her expressed breastmilk in the bag before pouring it in the bottle. I received this bottle from the weeSpring Parent Panel in return for an honest review. We love this bottle! The wide base and flattened nipple makes transitions between breast and bottle seamless. The shape of the bottle is easy for my little guy to hold himself and we&rsquo;ve seen much less gas and discomfort than with other bottles we used in the past. MAM&rsquo;s venting system is in the bottom of its bottle, so air moves out the back of the bottle as baby drinks. One of my favorite parts is the ease of cleaning and sterilizing this bottle. Breast milk is oily and it can be difficult to get at the bottom of bottles with a traditional bottle brush alone. It&rsquo;s so helpful to take this bottle apart so easily and being able to throw it in the microwave to sterilize in 3 minutes makes cleaning on the go a cinch. We&rsquo;ve thrown it in the diaper bag and he&rsquo;s tossed it on the floor and there haven&rsquo;t been any leaks, so I&rsquo;m a happy mama. I have been transitioning in advance of going back to work with my second son, so the experience is both new - new kid, but also familiar - my second. My older son is three, so we have bought, used, but also tossed lots of competitor bottles because they had nipples our oldest didn&rsquo;t take to (the Mam has a flatter nipple that more closely mimics my nipple), because the number of tiny parts were just bananas (if they don&rsquo;t easily fit in a normal sized dishwasher, or can&rsquo;t be put together without a masters degree, how is a newborn&rsquo;s caregiver going to do it when their breastfeeding mom isn&rsquo;t home?!), and because of compatibility issues (this is compatible with my pump! I was most fascinated when I first opened the bottle package about the anti-colic claim. My older son had lots of comic issues very early, so we knew how frustrating and sad the early transition from breast to expressed breast milk. Watching a newborn scream with gas is so emotionally painful. I&rsquo;m no engineer, but I find the way this bottle fights the extra air - by putting a separate base piece - simply genius. Rather than adding tons of random extra fiddly pieces - simply genius. My only negative (and why I gave it 4 vs 5 stars) is that we try and use glass whenever possible, and while this bottle has certified using all the right methodology in Europe, I&rsquo;m still apprehensive. There were a few things I liked about it such as the flatter nipple design and vented base but there were also things I did not like such as the fact that is entirely made of plastic and the high number of pieces involved for each bottle. So a bit of background about myself: I have two children, a three year old and a two month old. Finding nipples and bottles that my first child would actually tolerate was a struggle and he did not successfully take a bottle until he was eight months old! We tried so many bottle systems and perhaps if this bottle had been around when he was an infant we would have had better luck. For that reason, we have started our newborn on bottles much sooner than our first child and I&rsquo;m happy to report he took this MAM bottle easily and happily. I was pleased with the textured, flat design of the nipple and how it fit in my baby&rsquo;s mouth once he started eating. This MAM nipple is designed to &ldquo;feel more like mom&rdquo; in order to make a smooth transition back and forth from breast to bottle. So that nipple was the best part of the bottle&rsquo;s design for me that made it successful. Another thing I liked about this bottle was the vented base. The MAM Anti-Colic bottle is designed to prevent colic, gas, and reflux because there is a vented base that limits high pressure build-up that can cause bubbles and foam in the milk while feeding. I was skeptical of those claims but I did see less bubbles than normal in the milk as my baby ate. The MAM bottle claims that less gas and air will get in baby&rsquo;s tummy with this bottle but I didn&rsquo;t really see a difference as far as gassiness goes but I think that fussiness and gassiness is unfortunately very normal for a two month old. But it gets better! Something that I didn&rsquo;t like about this MAM bottle was that the whole bottle and nipple is six parts in all that come apart. For a busy mom on-the-go it seems like a lot of parts to keep track of for just one bottle. I&rsquo;d much prefer to keep it simpler than this. Something that was convenient about this many pieces though was the fact that it is self-sterilizing. You can fill the bottom base of the bottle with an ounce of water, pop it in the microwave for a few minutes and skip the time-consuming sterilization process and pot of boiling water. I also did not like that the bottle itself is made of all plastic even though it is BPA free. I prefer glass bottles and I&rsquo;d be more likely to recommend this bottle to friends if that main bottle piece was made of glass instead of plastic. Overall the MAM Anti-Colic bottle is a nice bottle with a well-made nipple and venting system that could only be improved upon by using glass instead of plastic for the main bottle piece. It's small and compact and great for little hands to hold. It's great for mom and dad hands to hold too! What I like about this bottle is you have the option to sterilize it in the microwave or by boiling it. Both of these techniques were very simple for me to do. The bottle can also be cleaned in the dishwasher if needed. When I did this, I didn't have any problems and the bottle came out good as new. This bottle comes apart into 6 pieces. For me, this is a plus because I feel confident that all areas of the bottle are getting clean. I found that because the bottle has a very wide opening, it is easy to pour breastmilk into it or mix formula without having anything spill. Probably the best thing about the MAM anti-colic bottle is just that; the anti-colic system. There are vents in the bottom of the base which allow air to flow through more easily which, in turn, prevents gas and colic. My 3 month old seemed to be experiencing a lot of gas when feeding, but with this MAM bottle, the gas seems to be much less. I am so happy I had the opportunity to try this bottle out. As I looked at the instructions, I also learned that it can self sterilize in the microwave! THIS, my friends, is my most favorite feature! It means no boiling or bulky steamers to store in the kitchen. Once I cleaned and re-assembled the bottle, I poured the stored milk I had into it. The wide mouth made it easy to pour without spilling &amp; wasting milk. Then I sat down to feed her.... she was not having it! I was surprised because she will only take a MAM pacifier but she was not interested in the bottle. After several attempts she ate about 1/2 an ounce. I think if I had tried this bottle earlier and more frequently it would have been a winner. We started with low weight gain due to tongue and lip tie for little babe and then I was diagnosed with insufficient glandular tissue (IGT). Due to my low supply and babes inability to pull milk efficiently with his ties we started supplementing with donor milk and pumped Breastmilk. Like any breastfeeding mom knows, finding a bottle that babe will take and then easily go back to breast with no issues is no small feat. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel, we were able to test out the Mam bottle. I like the nipple portion of the bottle the most because it helps babe learn to open his top lip correctly which in turn aids in a better latch IMO. The only issue that I have with the bottle is there are 4 parts to wash. Which being a busy, working mom makes me like ugh more parts to wash every night. Luckily there aren&rsquo;t very many little crevices to clean. Ryder has had no issues going from bottle to breast and back. And it&rsquo;s perfect sized for when big brother comes to help feed! This was already a huge plus. I breastfeed my son but occasionally I&rsquo;m not always available to feed him and with my maternity leave coming to an end, I need a bottle that he will drink from. Finding a bottle that doesn&rsquo;t cause him extra gas is a challenge at times. The MAM bottle has a unqiue breastlike nipple that my son likes. It&rsquo;s small enough where he tries to hold it on his own. I wasn&rsquo;t sure about it at first due to the fact that the bottom screws off as well as the top. However, I found that the innovative design really help with my little girl&rsquo;s gas issues. It&rsquo;s also much easier to clean than other brands we&rsquo;ve tried. My baby, who was born premature, and could not breastfeed, was having a very difficult time drinking from normal bottles for 2 reasons: severe gas, and horribly designed nipples, which choked her. Madelynn could not only easily drink from the uniquely-shaped nipple, but could do so without the dreaded gas and pain that use to follow. She no longer has gas and no longer bags. I noticed he was a little less fussy after having used this bottle and he wasn&rsquo;t spitting up as much after using it as well. The bottle is very easy to take apart and clean and goes back together easily without having a ton of pieces to assemble. When trying to find a bottle that my two month old would take it was a challenge. I tried many different bottle brands but my daughter was picky! I was skeptical when the MAM bottle arrived in the mail but we gave it a try. She loves it and so do I. This bottle disassembles into four parts. I loved that the cap can be used as a measuring cup! It&rsquo;s all about convenience when you&rsquo;re out with two babes. The nipple of the bottle has a texture that might feel familiar to a breastfed baby. The bottom comes off of this bottle. This makes it very easy to keep clean. The bottom of this bottle is also vented to regulate air flow in the bottle creating less bubbles. This means less gas and a happy baby. To clean this bottle all you have to do is microwave for 3 minutes and it is sterilized. Super quick and easy! I have found the price of these bottles to be comparable, maybe even a little less, to the price of other well-known bottle brands. My only concern with this bottle is that it may have a potential to leak from the bottom. I have used other bottles with a similar venting system on the bottom and they began to leak over time. This bottle does seem to be well made. I am hoping that with proper care this won&rsquo;t happen. Only time will tell! So far I have loved this bottle and would highly recommend it to new moms! I love how you can unscrew all pieces and sterilize the bottle within itself. That makes things very easy for a new mom. The nipple is unique to any others I have seen/used. My son didn't have an issue with taking right to it. My only complaint was twisting the pieces together. You had to have them twisted just perfectly or it would leak. It made night time feedings a bit hectic in that sense. But all in all it was a good concept.
