Everything about these shields are amazing, except why in the world did medela decide to make the neck portion of the shields shorter than the original shields?! The smaller tube that connects to your pump is shorter than the tubes on the hard plastic original shields, which means my nipple is quickly sucked into the tube and up against the flange of the machine during pumping, that does not work! If they&rsquo;d make the tubes longer it would be perfection. And yes, I have considered size, I am wearing the proper size shields. The originals are sized perfectly and I don&rsquo;t have this problem with those, I bought the same exact size in the flex shields. With the new shield I feel so much more comfortable with the contour that fits to my breast without squishing. I literally pumped my breasts empty in 2/3 the time it would usually take me. When I removed the pump from my breasts, I didn&rsquo;t have that itchy, red, indented line from the shield digging into me.
