With my first daughter, I only had a pump that you strapped on with a special bra and had to nearly entirely undress to accomplish the task. I had to pump in closets at work and sit by myself at home whenever I needed to pump. I thought I was going to be doomed to repeat this experience throughout the nursing journey with my second daughter, until I received news that the Stellar Product Testing Panel needed me to try out the Medela Pump-in-Style Hands-Free breast pump! I no longer have to miss lunch with my colleagues because the collection cups fit easily in my bra and I can discreetly pump at lunch. I tried some other brand of collection cups that worked with my old pump, but they didn’t even come close to fitting in my bra so it didn’t help at all. In addition to being discreet, they are efficient! I am able to express so much milk in a short amount of time. As a mama who struggled with supply issues early on, knowing I can get every last drop in a convenient time frame is a major relief. I feel like my milk supply has actually increased since I started using this pump—it’s awesome! My only wish is that it was a little more portable—the battery option is cumbersome, and having to find an outlet to plug in isn’t always convenient. Even with that, though, it had absolutely revolutionized my pumping experience and I am so grateful to Stellar for sending this my way!
Date published: 2023-08-30

Rated 4 out of 5 by AshleyG from Nice portable pump [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice portable breast pump. I was able to use this pump while being able to freely use my hands for whatever my baby needed. The fact that I was able to move freely & not be tied down by a cord was amazing for me. I love how it’s only a few parts to wash which makes for an easy clean up between pumps. I will say that it was a bit challenging with certain breastfeeding attire to secure the hands free pumps at times. With this pump I was able to pump a decent amount but not my normal amount I’m used to pumping prior to having this breast pump. What I loved the most about this pump was it really is hands free once you have the correct attire to wear while pumping. I really wanted to like this pump more than I did. I was so excited when I saw the cups - they are completely hands free and very well made. You don’t need a pumping bra and they’re much more discreet than other hands free cups. But, the pump itself just wasn’t my favorite. While the cups are hands free, the pump isn’t. You can plug it into the wall or use the battery pack to make it more mobile, but you can’t move around freely with it. This would work great for someone at a desk. I also consistently pumped about an ounce less compared with other pumps, so it’s not a pump I’d use regularly.
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 4 out of 5 by aes31 from Great Hands Free Option [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a larger chested mama, I was so excited to try a hands free pump! I have held off on purchasing a true hands free breast pump because I wasn't sure that they would work for my size - but I'm so thankful that Stellar Product Testing Panel sent this for me to try! And I now I know and can tell others, that it works! This is a great pump for multitasking and I was able to work so much easier than getting set up with a hands free bra, plugging everything in, and getting all pump parts together like I'm used to. I loved that there are only three pieces to each cup - and they are easy to assemble! It was also really easy to get my nipples in position! And while moving around, they never came off or moved out of place. I loved that! The stand out for me on this pump was the pour feature!!! Makes it so easy to pour for fridge or freezer storage! Genius and made my life so much better with less spills to clean! Things that were not so great: I wouldn't say it is as strong of a suction as my other pump but that being said, it didn't really decrease my supply - I just knew that I wasn't likely going to get as much volume as I typically do. For me, it was worth the small sacrifice of an ounce less for the ease and convenience! I thought the pump itself was heavier than expected. It was easy enough to move around when I was doing chores at home but it was heavier than I thought. It would be better for me if it could clip to my body or be a bit lighter. This pump only comes with 21 and 24 sized flanges - I hope they offer larger sizes soon! I have a need for one 24 and one 27...so I believe the pumped would have worked better for me with the option to order and purchase a 27mm. Overall, I'm so excited to have a hands free option that works with my size of chest and I will definitely continue to use as another pumping option (especially for on-the-go, in the car and around the house). A few improvements and this would quickly become a 5 star product for me!
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 5 out of 5 by LizT from GAME CHANGING PUMP [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] GAME CHANGER. My baby is now 3 months old, and I have been using the Pump in Style Hands-free provided to me by the Stellar Product Testing Panel for the past month. I have 2 older children, and used a different pump 6/8 years ago, so was looking forward to an updated pumping experience this time around. Wow, did the Pump in Style give me that! It’s small. It’s easy. It’s strong. I can't say enough good things about it. The collection cups are incredible - they only have 3 parts that fit together simply and snugly. It’s satisfying to hear the “click” as the pieces lock into place, knowing that they are secure and ready to go. They really do sit right in my normal or nursing bra, so can be super discreet as well as convenient. They are also very comfortable as they are shaped like the breast. I used the cups as sent, with the 24mm o-ring, so I did not test out how a different size worked. My only complaint with the cups is that I couldn’t see through them as much as I would have like to make sure they were cupping the nipple correctly in order to pump the maximum amount. However, they are transparent enough to see the milk level, so I knew approximately when I should be finished pumping. There are tick marks on the side indicating ounces, which are labeled very faintly making it more difficult to see while the cup is sitting in the bra during pumping, but after a few sessions I could estimate the ounces based on the milk level, and after removing the cups I can see the ounce marks clearly. I really like that the cups sit nicely on the base (bottom of the cup) once removed, so the milk won’t spill while preparing the bottle or bag to pour into. The cups hold about 5 ounces of milk. So far that has been sufficient, but I anticipate needing to pump more than 5 ounces per side in the future (I would sometimes get 6 or more with my previous children), so my plan is to just stop and empty partially into a bottle before continuing on. I believe this will be simple and quick. Emptying the cups is super easy, as they just need to be tipped upside down to pour into a bottle or bag. Cleaning the cups is equally as easy. Take apart the 3 pieces, wash in hot water, and set to dry. It takes me less than a minute from start to finish! I also sometimes will stick them in the fridge between sessions so I don’t have to wash, and they work just as well (though a little cold on the skin) during the second pumping. Noise level/usage - there is an obvious rhythm going on, so I wouldn’t have my volume on in a virtual meeting while pumping, but no one in the other room can hear it. I can continue sitting at my computer working while pumping without having to take an actual break and getting half undressed. Suction strength - at first, I didn’t think the suction was strong enough as I wasn’t getting as much milk as I thought I should be. That was when I first started to pump though, in between direct breastfeeding. Now that I exclusively pump during the day, I am getting the volume of milk I expected and feel that the strength of the pump is just right. There is an option to increase or decrease the strength if needed. The unit itself connects to the tubing, which is a closed system meaning the tubes don’t need to be washed. The tubing connects to the collection cups. There are two cups, but they don’t always need to both be used, as the tubing can tuck back into itself so that only cup can be used. The first few times I connected the tubing to the cups, I wasn’t sure I was connecting it properly because the connector didn’t seem to “pop” into the cups. That got better after a few uses and now it pops in as expected. There is a battery pack which allows the unit to be used without being plugged into an outlet. I used this several times, but it ran the batteries down within 3 uses, so I switched to the plug. It’s nice to know it’s an option when I need to pump while not near a plug. Overall, I am extremely happy with this pump. It is hands down better than my previous pump, and I am so excited that I will be able to take full advantage of it over the next few months or longer!
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 4 out of 5 by Foreverdevoted from Great for hands free pumping [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always had trouble with breastfeeding. All of my babies have stopped nursing all together long before 3 months old. I just had my fifth baby four months ago and I knew I was probably going to encounter the same issues. The issues have a lot of layers but I do know I have IGT and therefore simply do not produce enough milk. So I knew I would never be able to exclusively nurse but I hoped to still be able to nurse for as long as possible while supplementing with donor breastmilk. When I got the Medela Pump in Style Hands Free breast pump I had already used three different pumps this time around. Two of them were ones you plugged into a wall but I hated being tied down to a cord. The other was a cord and hands free pump but it was simply not powerful enough for me. So I rarely used them and instead hand expressed all the time as well as nursed. My first impression of the Medela Pump in Style was how simple it was. It did not have a ton of complicated instructions or anything. You could simply just put it together, put it on, and go. I loved that I was easily able to still do things while pumping like feeding my baby a bottle of breastmilk at the same time which saved so much time. I was pleasantly surprised that the first time I used it I got the same amount of breastmilk as I did with hand expression. So it definitely helped to empty me. I used it for a while and then baby all the sudden wanted to nurse way more often which I assume means I am producing more milk than I was prior to using the Medela Pump in Style. Being able to save time and still be able to pump without being stuck was amazing. It allowed me to build my supply more than it probably has ever been. The simplicity of it was amazing even though I do wish there was a way to see what strength it is on so that I could go to certain numbers at different times. But overall I have been very happy with this pump and will continue to use it whenever I have need to pump. It’s gentle and small, so would be fine for occasional pumping or short travel, but I would not recommend this as a main pump. I was able to use it while multitasking (working on the computer), but it’s not light or small enough to be doing chores around the house. The suction of this pump is not nearly as strong as other pumps I tried, and my supply was about half of what I usually get for a session twice as long. For example, I usually pump for 10 minutes and get about 7-8 ounces. With this, I pumped for 20 minutes and got about 4 ounces. There is no visible timer on the pump and was using my phone to track the time. It also does not show you the levels and you must figure it out with practice. I liked that you don’t need a specific handsfree pumping bra for the cups – you can basically insert them into any bra. I also like that the cups are super easy to clean! The pump is loud, and the cups leaked at the seams sometimes. I really wanted to love this, but it was a disappointment for me. I have been using their pumps for years. The pump itself does a great job, but I wish there were a few things that were different. 1. The O ring that is attached to the flange was attached to the 24 mm and I needed the 21 mm. I didn't realize I needed to change it before pumping and my milk kept leaking everywhere. It is mentioned in the manual, but I missed that part. It would be better to be left off completely so others can see it's a vital piece. 2. The collection cups aren't great for milk removal. There is a big risk of milk spillage when removing the flange from the collection cup. Once the flange is off you can not set the collection cup back down, so you need to be ready to move the milk to a cup or storage bag with one hand. I do enjoy being hands free, but you can't really move around much because you are still attached to a pump and there is risk of leakage if you lean too far forward or back. The pump cords don't really make it discreet either. I did not need to wear a pump bra - it fit just fine in my standard sports bra. A big positive is the pump is super efficient at pumping - I had a decent supply when my cycle was over. The let down stage is always a great feature of these pumps. Overall I will use this pump, I just with the collection cups were a bit easier to remove the pumped milk. Thank you, Stellar! This is my first hands-free pump and I'm in love! I've had various other electric pumps over the last 15 years, but now wish I would've gotten a hands-free one much sooner! This pump combines the best of both worlds, giving you a super strong and efficient pump, while providing hands-free capability. I just loved this pump. I consider myself a big milk producer in general, so it is important to me that I have sufficient pump strength and an adequate collection system. This pump was great and quick, with more than enough power, and collection cups were able to hold up to 5oz each. While I can pump more than 5oz from each side, this was still enough for me most times - especially those before or after normal feedings pumping sessions. I was also able to finish most pumping sessions in less than 15 mins from start to finish. So really appreciate that! There are 2 things I would advise users about, but these should not be received as negatives for this product, more so suggestions for how Medela could make this even better. 1) Be careful when you are removing the collection cups after pumping, as any milk remaining in the canal that did not make it's way into the cup itself, can spill out. I had this happen a couple times. 2) While you are hands-free, you are limited in mobility a little since the pump is a bit heavy and is connected via tubing to the collection cups, as well as the wall power adapter. If you're using the battery pack, you only have the first limitation. Would love for this to come with a rechargable battery that clips directly to the pump, and for a belt or fanny pack style accessory so one could wear it for complete mobility. Overall this is an amazing pump! Strong, efficient and effective - everything I need as a busy working mom. As someone who dreads pumping, this hands-free pump makes it so much better, so I can really multi-task. Let me start out by saying that I really liked the packaging the Pump in style came in. I do enjoy when thought has been put into the customers experience from the moment you purchase an item. All the parts were on displayed and a how to get started instruction pamphlet was tucked rucked on top. I sterilized all of the pieces in my electric sterilizer and the pieces fit with no issue. Each "cup" only contained 3 pieces which I really appreciated. There is nothing more tiresome than having to clean and sterilize a million pieces every day. Assembling each "cup" was generally easy with the exception of pushing the two main pieces together. I was always concerned the gasket would not properly seal if pushed in the wrong direction. We all know how breastmilk is liquid gold and it was hard for me to put a lot of trust into the design and seal of the "cups". Hooking the "cups" to the pump was generally easy although I always felt like the Yellow part of the tube that inserts into the "cup" was never in far enough and stuck out pretty high. It was easy enough to align them to my breasts properly to ensure proper suction/seal. The actual pump was fairly small, which I really liked. I can see that being a plus when returning back to work and not having to pack such a cumbersome piece of equipment. However, I think one feature that is missing is a timer. Many times I would get started and forget to set a timer so I wouldn't know how long I had been pumping for. It's a small, but necessary, feature that can hopefully be added in for future models. Lets get into the suction and how will it emptied my breasts. The first time I used the pump I was ecstatic to see how well it emptied my breasts! I was very excited about this new pump! Unfortunately the amount decreased greatly each time I used the pump. In the end I had to revert back to my old pump in order for me to keep my output the same. One feature I did not use was the "plug free" feature. It required a lot of batteries and still needed a long cord to administer any power to the pump. The question is, would a rechargeable battery be better for this feature? Overall I liked the pump and I may add it into my rotation but I still have concerns with how well it emptied my breasts.
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 4 out of 5 by MilkMama from Great pump with minor limitations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was extremely excited to be able to try this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I'm happy to report that this is my preferred pump! It has so far extracted more milk than any other pump I've tried and it's great that I can go hands free. My favorite part about it is that I don't have to have a special bra to use this pump and it's crazy efficient. There were some things that I think could be better, though. The initial setup instructions weren't extremely clear when putting the pieces together. I thought that there would be a more obvious "click" when putting it together and I had to triple check to ensure the cups wouldn't leak (they haven't yet). I also thought there would be more of a click when putting the suction line in each cup, but I suppose this is very similar to the other pumps I've used. I found the cups to be extremely large and unnatural, but this may be the way it goes with these kinds of pumps. I haven't used the batteries in the pump to make it mobile yet since the actual pump engine seems to be heavy and big. I've used it connected to a wall outlet every time because of that. The pieces are also pretty large and awkward to clean and sterilize. Overall, I really love this pump. The hands-free function has been a game-changer for me and the amount of milk pumped out has been honestly impressive.
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 4 out of 5 by Arimas from Hands free pump for multitasking in one space [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mother of three, I had my fare share of using different pumps throughout my breastfeeding journey. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I had a chance to test Pump in Style Hands-free Medela pump. This was my first time testing hands free pump. It was unusual experience at first but turned out very helpful pump from that point. I used to have manual and then electric breast pump but no matter which one I used, I had to stop and pause with everything else I was doing in order to pump milk for my baby. It was a time to relax also but because it took a while to pump the amount of milk I needed, I wished I was able to do more things at the same time. Now I can. I LOVE how light and discreet cups are. They are also very anatomical and that helps with discreteness. They have very few parts and easy to clean and assemble. Closure of them is very tight which prevents leaks but it is also very hard to open in order to clean them. They can stand on their own while I am removing and packing other parts. You need to be careful when pouring milk from them into the bottle so you don’t lift the bottom part too much as I did on my first try and accidentally spilled some milk. They are transparent and that helped me to practice positioning on my nipples. It took a few times but practice makes perfect. I did notice the pump itself is less quite then my previous, which is a plus, but also not as fast at pumping as my previous Medela pump. Another feature I liked is that I can use it with adapter (which requires batteries). It allowed me to take it with me in the car or on picnics or playgrounds so I can continue with my chores and still be able to pump. I could finish my work on the computer or fold laundry without any issues. However, it only allows you to move and do work only in the area where your charger can be plugged or, if you are using adapter, than you will have to have some kind of bag or carrier to carry it with you if you want to continue pumping hands free. I wish the pump itself is more compact that can maybe fit in a pocket. Also, instead of the adapter, it would be helpful if it can come with cable to be able to be charged on any portable device like we charge our phones on power banks. This will help a lot with easiness and discretion of the pump. Overall, I really liked using it and will definitely continue using it in the future. I 100% recommend it to my friends and family.
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christine from Great hands free pump [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was very excited to test out a hands free pump. I am currently exclusively pumping for my 7 month old and it was a great opportunity to be able to pump and work on other things at the same time. The Pump in Style Hands-free Brest pump worked great for me. The pump had great suction. The amount of milk I was able to get was comparable to what I get with my traditional pump. It was easy to wear with sports bras, regular bras and nursing bras. The pump comes with a plug in cord as well as a battery pack if you are away from an outlet. The battery pack was a great alternative to use while traveling. I took the pump with me on weekend getaway and it was nice to not have to worry about finding a place to plug in. My one complaint about the pump was that the collection cups were a little difficult to assemble. At one point, the suction was not working for me and I could not figure out why. I disassembled and reassembled multiple times before I realized the cup was slightly ajar. It was difficult to get it to fully click in. Overall, I loved the Pump in Style Hands-free Brest pump! It was great to be able to pump and do other things at the same time. I would definitely recommend the pump!
Date published: 2023-08-29

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grlma2022 from Great addition to my current routine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy I was able to test this through the stellar review panel. I decided I would test this pump out by adding it as a pump in between sessions, when I wanted to see if I could get some work done, or be mobile instead of plugged into a wall. I primarily use a pump buy a different brand that allows me to adjust each breast manually and has all the bells and whistles. I swore that was the only pump that would work for me however this one seem to allow me to break away from my usual, pumping location and still keep my milk production up with no noticeable change. I could easily see myself using this as a primary pump, and I find myself using it more and more. Overall, I think it's an ok pump. I don't think the suction was as great as other pumps I've tried that AREN'T hands free. I definitely did not get as much milk in the same amount of time as my other pump. I think it is absolutely wonderful to use when I was driving to and from work. It did fit in my nursing bra. I'm blessed up top so I recommend sizing up in you bra if you plan on using the hands free option because I JUST fit. It could be my size, but I wasn't able to really move around without spilling milk or the pump slipping off. I was super excited when I opened up the box to see what was sent. I had wanted to try one of these pumps, but wasn't going to spend the money since my pump worked fine. Overall, I like this pump. I like the fact that you can just pop the cups into your nursing tank and not have to wear a special bra for pumping. This did make the cups feel less secure than when wearing a pumping bra, but not enough that it made me worried about moving around. I made dinner while wearing them the first go around and found the cups to be a bit in the way since they stick out like you have a bullet bra on. So, that took a bit of adjusting, but not any more than a traditional pump. When using the pump with the battery pack it makes the pump portable, but you need some kind of bag to carry it with you otherwise you have to hold it. I also found this pump to be louder than the other pump I was using. My milk output between the old pump and this one was pretty even, but doing any breast massage while the pump was in place proved more difficult for me. I kept messing up the suction. The thing I loved was that there are only three parts to the collection cup. I am constantly forgetting to get all the pieces when I pack up in the morning to go to work. Having only three pieces to snap together was awesome. That being said, I would like to see more pumps come with inserts to adjust the size of the flange without having to buy new flanges or inserts just to use the pump. It seems unfair to make a new mom hunt and do research to find the right size and buy more parts. For a mom who knows what she's doing, and wants more options when pumping, this is a great buy. For a new to pumping mom I'm not sure I would have this be the first option.
Date published: 2023-08-28

Rated 5 out of 5 by LB1838 from A great pump for multitasking mommas [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, qqq I got to try the Pump in Style Hands-free breast pump. My first impressions of this pump was that it's compact and lightweight. I liked the pumping cups and their relatively slim profile. I was pretty skeptical that this pump would have good suction due to its size, but I was definitely proven wrong. My favorite things about this pump were the size and power. It is smaller than my normal pump, but it still allowed me to express the same amount of milk (other hands free options I've tried didn't even get me half of what I normally produce). I also liked the hands free cups. I've tried similar products but these are by far better. Their profile is very slim and they have minimal parts which makes cleaning super quick and easy. I would pump at work and people would have entire conversations before realizing what I was doing. Transferring milk from the cups to bottles is also super simple with the easy pour spout. Sometimes the milk would get stuck, but I would just have to tilt it slightly to get the milk flowing again. The pump operation was very simple. I liked that it switched from stimulation mode to expression mode automatically. Adjusting the suction was also simple with the + and - buttons. I would prefer to have a display with a timer but that is really my only complaint about this pump. The pump also came with a battery pack to make it truly a pump on the go option. I was able to set it up and pump while driving which was super convenient for a working mom with lots of places to be. I think I'd prefer a car adapter (maybe there is one I could purchase, but there was not one out of the box). The pump seemed to work just as well with the battery pack as the wall plug. If I could add one thing it would be an indicator to let me know how much power was left. Overall this was a fantastic pump. It has great suction power, is very convenient with the handsfree cups, and is lightweight for maximum portability. The Pump in Style Hands-free is now my go to pump.
Date published: 2023-08-28

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stormb from Pump in Style Hands free Review [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A versatile pump that will allow you to do task while getting the maximum amount of milk from your supply! The Pump in Style Hands-free has been the best product for a momma that has a lot of tasks during the day. To preface I have a toddler and a newborn that keep my hands full not to mention the tasks that I aim to complete in the house through out the day. This product had a lot to offer starting with the cups. The cups were very easy to assemble and disassemble. They are fairly discreet when wearing them, and are so comfortable I didn't even know I was wearing them some of the time. The product only comes with 21mm or 24mm flanges and that was a bit bigger than what I needed so I did have to order a flange insert that was a better fit for my breast. The pump itself has a descent motor. While using the motor that plugs in to an outlet the motor was a little noisy but not so much to where I couldn't have a conversation or be heard by my kids. The hands feee pump is very strong when it comes to suction. I am not over exaggerating when I say that I have received the most milk out of my supply while using this pump. Within 15 minutes I can accumalate over 6 ounces of milk, while before using the hands free pump I was lucky to get 3 ounces from both breast. The pump will automatically switch from letdown to expression mode which I enjoy because that is how my newborn usually feeds and what my breast respond the best to. You also have the option to go back to let down if that is what you prefer. With this Medela pump I as able to breastfeed my newborn comfortably while pumping. I was even able to fold laundry, read books to my toddler, and even cook! The only con I can say about this pump is the fact that I have to clean extra storage containers because you can't just put the pump cups in the fridge. Overall it is an amazing (life changing even) breast pump. I think this perfect for a busy mom like my self and I use it everyday, if not twice a day. I would recommend this to any one looking for a great pump! My first impression of this hands-free pump was that it looks very sleek and slim and everything felt pretty lightweight. I loved that the cups were transparent to make it easy for aligning in the right position as well as being able to easily see how much milk had been collected while still pumping. During my first use I could clearly see I was getting just as much expressed as I do from my (non hands-free) pump. That's a huge win when it comes to getting convenience and comfort and not having to sacrifice efficiency and quantity. Cleaning and assembling was also a breeze, which for me always feels like the biggest chore, so I sure appreciate the time and energy I am able to save cleaning this. While using the pump I was able to multi-task doing things nearby. I could easily use my phone and computer to get a couple things done (in fact I'm using it as I type this) and because I chose to use the battery/power pack most of the time I was able to easily move rooms or areas while pumping and just take it along with me. So I could move from the living room to the kitchen and etc. Now because it still has the pump connected I couldn't vacuum or something like that, but I definitely was happy with what I was able to do. Now one huge benefit for me is that using this seemed to increase my supply a bit. I definitely don't have an under supply but throughout my time using this once a day about 4-5 times a week I saw the amount I was collecting each time increase. It didn't increase to the point that I was getting engorged or uncomfortable if I wasn't able to pump, just enough to increase my collected amount by a couple ounces over the span of using it. Probably my favorite feature of this is the sleek well-fitted collection cups that make pumping feel so much more comfortable and less cumbersome while also being able to use my hands . Pair this with the strong comfortable pump and it's definitely a win! Everything was so easy to use and adjust power. Simple, effective and efficient. This pump is absolutely a game changer.
Date published: 2023-08-28

Rated 4 out of 5 by KMack from Great Pump [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My overall impression of this pump I would say a 8/10. I definitely liked the pump! My output was similar to my other hospital-grade pump that empties me completely, except that one isn’t hands free so it’s good to know a hands free pump can produce the same output. The Medela pump is also easy to assemble which I thought was the most helpful feature because it didn’t have a ton of parts that needed to be washed after every use. One thing I will say it that it’s really hard to multi-task with this kind of pump because the actual breast pump (not the cups) has to be stationary if it’s plugged in the wall, so you can’t walk around with it unless you use the battery pack which still is a lot because you have to carry both just to move around. It’s not like a pump that can be clipped onto your pants and you can walk around and do whatever. Then again, the pump is similar to a hospital-grade pump which produces the most output unlike portable clip-on pumps that may not produce as much milk. I also don’t really like how the pump strength starts at a high level, I typically have to decrease the strength first and then ease my way up to a level that’s most comfortable for me. I wish the strength started at its lowest that way it doesn’t hurt as soon as you turn it on. My typical output is 4-7 ounces per pump and the Medela hands free pump was able to produce just as much like my other hospital-grade pump that I use which I thought was amazing! I definitely plan to continue to use this pump. I have used a Medela pump before and really like how their other hands free options work, and this one that fits in my own bra vs having to change to a “pumping” bra was a great step forward for me. The compact nature of this pump is great and the collection cups are a decent size. My one key issue with this pump was that the seal between the cup and the shield was something I needed to verify every time to make sure I wasn’t going to have a leak. It leaked during one pumping session and after that I figured it out, but the learning curve feels important to mention because spilled milk in this scenario can cause crying! Basically, I had not snapped the O ring in properly so the closure was compromised, and when I went to fix it, I tipped the balance and milk came out. I was in high hopes that this would be a wonderful product for me as I have a toddler running around and did not want to be plugged into a wall. Unfortunately there were several things that I disliked in this product. While being “hands free” it’s not completely free of everything. You are still attached to a base that is somewhat heavy. It needs to be clipped onto you so that you are able to be mobile. And while being mobile you still need to be exposed in order for the flanges to be at the right place to do their function. Therefore it’s nice while you are in the comfort of your home but if you are out in public you will still want a space of privacy or covering. The other problem I had was that the flanges comes with 24 and 21. I am needing a smaller size for that, I then was needing to buy an additional adapter for my size. However it still wasn’t the correct size or not giving me the seal that I needed. Therefore then giving me the host of problems that comes with too big of a flange size. Not pumping as much as I was, spilt milk and mental frustration. On a positive note. In the times that I did use the pump there were things I really like about it. The ease of learning the machine was great and then function of using was super easy. Also just the parts themselves and putting together was simple for quick pump sessions and cleaning. I think if the flanges would have fit properly I would have loved it but because they didn’t and even with the adapter not working I unfortunately couldn’t use.
Date published: 2023-08-28

Rated 5 out of 5 by Momof3 from Super convenient [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump is so convenient! I am usually an exclusive breastfeeding mom but I like to pump a few bottles here and there for when I need to be away from my baby. Because I also have a toddler, the ability to have a hands free pump was such a life changer! I was able to still help my toddler with things while I pumped. First the pros of this pump- 1. Hands free and fits in my bra 2. Really easy to put together 3. The pump is so easy to use! The functions of the let down and pump was very easy to figure out. 4. The spout at the top is the absolute best and allows you to pour the milk straight into bottles/bags. 5. The ability to be battery operated so you can take it on the go. 6. Easy to clean except for the narrow part of the pump- just make sure you have a small enough brush to scrub that part. And the cons- 1. It says it’s discreet in your bra but that definitely wasn’t the case because the wearable pump was pretty large, which allows to hold a lot of milk, but makes you look like you got a boob job so I do not recommend wearing in public unless you want weird looks. 2. Upon opening this pump I was very impressed with its sleek look. The hands free collection cups were smaller than I thought, which is a good thing. They were not too noticeable in my bra and were very comfortable. As I started pumping I noticed them leaking very badly out of the bottom, I took it apart and re red the instructions and I was doing everything right. Upon further inspection I noticed the seal missing from one set of the flanges causing huge leakage issues which nobody likes to see. The other set of flanges did have the seal so I switched them despite being the wrong size flange for me. After the mishap with the seal the pump is very comfortable, a little bit loud for my liking but the hands free option really helps when you’re a busy mom of four and need the extra hands. All in all I really did enjoy this pump and will continue to use it in the future despite the seal being off. I pumped for a total of ten minutes and got a an ounce more than I would with my usual pump! Transferring the milk to a bottle was flawless and very simple. I am now pumping for my 9 month old baby. The new Medela Pump in Style setup is incredible! I can see similarities between the original Pump in Style and this one. The biggest improvement is the round cups for expressing milk. They are much more comfortable than the horn shaped breast pumps from Medela’s past. I found the new style to be more efficient as well. I was able to pump for a longer period of time because I could comfortably read a book or browse the internet with my laptop in front of me. I love the size of the pump mechanism. It was easy for me to pack and bring with me so that I could easily pump while at work or on the go. It fits great inside my diaper bag. I used it tethered to the wall 90% of the time. I tried the battery pack and didn’t see any difference in functionality. It worked just as well. The cups can be a little awkward when assembling and disassembling the first few times but it definitely gets easier. It made me feel like the seal would last longer over time and I appreciate that. I was able to use this doing chores around the house, chasing my older kids, and while driving. This pump has made my breast feeding journey much easier than anticipated. The parts are easy to clean and sanitize and put back together & the instructions were easy to follow. I am larger busted so I didn’t feel it was super discreet, but it didn’t bother me as much. Different dose options for the cups may be a good addition. The pump in style hands-free was convenient but not portable. I love that the collection cups fit in my bra and I am not worried that my 6 month old or toddler will knock it out and spill my precious milk. I was able to hold my 6 month old baby while pumping. However, I wasn’t able to move around since the Maxflow pump isn’t the most portable pump. Compared to other wearable pumps or hands free pumps, I love how this has only 3 parts and it is dishwasher safe. It is very easy to clean and I am not washing pump parts for half of my day.
Date published: 2023-08-28

Rated 3 out of 5 by Leeashjay from Was not the right pump for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am excited that Stellar testing panel provided the opportunity for me to test this pump and wanted to share my honest review. Let me start off by saying is not a bad pump it’s just not my favorite pump. What I loved was that the pump was compact and portable, I personally didn’t mind the noise level off the motor and the pump was comfortable to wear and very easy to clean. What I dislike about the pump was how they functioned. I felt as if it did not empty me well like my wall pump. This to me is a huge factor which caused me to dislike the pump. I also noticed a decrease in ounces, when pumping with the Madela pump in style hands-free each time. I felt like the suction capability was not strong enough. I plan to still use the pump but more than likely will be a back up to my current pump when I’m looking to travel light and discreetly pump. The pump leaks at times but once you figure out how to set them in the right position it’s less like to happen. Overall this would not be a pump I would recommend but I would encourage anyone who isn’t looking for strong suction to give it a chance .
Date published: 2023-08-28

Medela Pump in Style Hands-Free Breast Pump, Wearable In-Bra Collection Cups, Easy to Clean, Hospital Performance Breastpump Reviews - page 4

y_2025, m_10, d_24, h_8

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_3, bvpage2n

co_hasreviews, tv_1, tr_121

loc_en_CA, sid_E4B83875, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 9ms

reviews, product
