I&rsquo;ve been using this all natural and hypoallergenic lanolin cream by Medela since our girl&rsquo;s arrival and it has made a huge difference! Nursing is significantly more comfortable, which is a blessing considering how often this little girl wants to eat! I did notice she&rsquo;s more fussy to eat if I&rsquo;ve just applied the cream, so I&rsquo;ve started putting it on after, during her longer stretches of sleep. My skin isn&rsquo;t so uncomfortable and it&rsquo;s made it possible to also start pumping milk to store as needed without adding to my discomfort. It&rsquo;s easy to apply, has zero scent, and a little goes such a long way. As a bonus, I used this cream on the rash our older daughter has on her cheeks and hand from being an aggressive thin sucker and it cleared her rash up in under two days! The difference was huge, and the skin is nice and healthy now. I had been told by friends that lanolin cream can help to soothe nipple discomfort so I decided to give the lanolin cream I had received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel a try. When I started using the cream, I was first struck by the consistency. It's on the thick side and slightly greasy. I found it helped to apply if I warmed a dab up between my fingertips for a couple of seconds. After figuring this little trick out, it spread very easily and evenly. After only the first few uses I found that my skin was not as irritated, the lanolin seeming to create a buffer between my skin and prolonged moisture I was exposed to during feedings. I also felt that the nipple sensitivity was lessened and I could concentrate on getting a better latch without worrying about being in pain - good for me and good for baby. I love that the ingredients are 100% natural and that I don't have to worry about what I am exposing baby to when nursing. I even use a little of the cream on baby's milk blisters when he gets them and it seems to help them heal faster. It has a smooth, easy application and was effective in soothing my skin and baby's lips. The fact that it is 100% all natural ingredients was an awesome bonus too! This cream really helped soften my baby's lips, she was born in the middle of winter and it broke my heart to see how dry her newborn lips got. It definitely helped with a pain-free adjustment while my nipples got used to breastfeeding and pumping again. My baby had issues latching which caused a crack in my nipple so I found myself pumping more than I anticipated to help the crack heal. Otherwise it can be painful to try to rub on already sore nipples. I found this cream helped speed up the healing time after my nipples would get sore and cracked from breastfeeding. I also found it soothed them. My nipples were torn to shreds from breastfeeding and the unbearable pain almost made me want to give up breastfeeding. Until I tried this product, nothing else worked well enough to allow my skin to heal fast enough. I also used this on my hands and skin to relieve them of dryness and it worked well. It&rsquo;s a bit too greasy for the palms but perfect for the back of hands. By applying a tiny amount to your sore nipples, it effectively alleviates the pain! After continued use, it heals cracked nipples as well, making nursing your sweet babe much more comfortable. I loved this product. My baby was born with the umbilical cord tight around his neck and was not breathing. He had to be in the NICU and I was unable to breast feed him. This meant that I had to pump, and unlike most new moms, I had lots of milk right off the bat. My nipples got very sore very quick. I was using another lanolin cream but it just wasn&rsquo;t cutting it. The Purelan Lanolin Cream worked much better and seemed to ease the pain fairly quickly after applying. The texture of this cream was almost like butter, it went on smoothly and stayed on until the next time I needed to pump/ or feed. The other cream I was using didn&rsquo;t stay on or soothe my nipples like the Purelan cream, and was harder to apply. This cream really was a life saver. I even put dabs of it on my baby&rsquo;s skin where he had sore/dry skin from all the IVs and monitors he was hooked up to. It helped the redness and dry patches where regular baby lotion did not.
