I was disappointed in the application of the cream. Although a little went a long way, it was too thick and sticky for me to easily apply to sore nipples. When I warmed it up with my body heat the lanolin cream was easier to apply, but with a newborn I didn't always have the time for that. I also used it for chapped lips and dry knuckles and elbows. I did find it helped soothe my skin, but for me the difficult application and stickiness were dealbreakers. A little bit goes a long way with a thin layer. I had sore cracked nipples 4 days postpartum. I used this for less than two weeks, once baby and I got into a routine, and I was no longer sore and bleeding. Best lanolin I have ever used. The cream comes in a tube so it needs to be squeezed out, which I found a bit inconvenient compared to other creams I've used that come in a jar. The cream is totally unscented and contains 100% all-natural ingredients, which I loved. It is very thick, which is nice after application, but necessitated rubbing it in my hand to make it easier to apply. When I tried to apply it directly to my nipples, the thickness made it difficult to spread which was painful on my tender nipples. It is fairly sticky and I felt like I needed to wash my hands after applying it. When I had my daughter last month we had some breastfeeding issues and I had to solely pump to feed her. This cream has been a lifesaver. As many mamas know, pumping can be tough on your nipples, leaving them continually dry from rubbing against the plastic of the flanges. Well, this cream has continually brought relief to my nipples after pumping sessions. It leaves my nipples coated in a comforting salve that doesn't rub off on the pads in my bra. Application is fairly easy, I would just recommend making sure it's warm or room temperature as it can be hard to get out of the tube if it's cold. I have also been impressed by the all natural ingredients. I am able to apply the cream and then pump with no fear of what may be rubbing off and possibly into the milk for my baby. The cons of them is that I find it hard to squeeze out of the bottle and apply, especially when I'm often doing it one handed with a baby in the other. But the pro to the cream is that because it's thick I find that it stays on and absorbs well. It came at a good time, during an extreme cold spell that lasted several days during which my entire family had extremely dry skin. I tried it first as a lip balm, and found it too thick, not absorbent and with an off putting taste. As a nipple cream, and overall cream that I used to try to treat dry patches on my and my kid's skin, I had the same problems - too thick, wouldn't absorb and I worried it would make our clothes greasy. Most importantly, it just didn't work, maybe because it did not absorb easily, my dry lips and skin were the same after several applications over a few days. I was also put off when I investigated what lanolin was made from. When it was sent to me I was already a couple months into my breastfeeding journey so my nipples were starting to adjust and weren&rsquo;t in pain or cracking. However every now and then they get a little sore and I use this and in turn I don&rsquo;t end up cracked or raw. I also found it is great for other things, not just nipples. After giving birth in the hospital my lips have been cracked and dry and I just couldn&rsquo;t seem to nurse them back to health. I tried this on them at night and they have healed right up!!! Better than anything else I was using on them. A perk: they also are super glossy and beautiful. Only con: it is very thick and sticky so use sparingly and be careful not to touch anything to them, like hair or fuzz from a blanket etc. Overall I would recommend this for my breast feeding mamas, but would suggest getting it before you start so you have it for those beginning painful weeks. The cream was much easier to squeeze and spread than others I&rsquo;ve tried and I like that it is made from all natural ingredients. I liked the texture of it too. I recently had my second baby 6 months ago and have been using Purelan for the last couple weeks. It effectively tackles any dryness, peeling or cracking and provides soothing relief of sore nipples. I also found it helped to protect my nipples from further discomfort or dryness from the next feeding. It is super easy to apply and a little goes such a long way. It has a pleasant feel to it, not sticky, wet or greasy. I love that it is made from all-natural ingredients and doesn't have to be removed before feeding, no new mama has time for that! One of the best things about Purelan is that I have used it with great success on other areas of the body as well. Each year during our Canadian winters I have suffered from horribly dry, cracked and peeling lips. After using Purelan a few times, my lips were rehydrated and the dryness, cracks and peeling resolved. I couldn't believe it! No other product has been able to achieve this (and I've tried them all)! I started using it on other trouble spots as well, such as cracked heels, dry elbows and hands (thanks sanitizer!) and saw similar benefits. I've also used it on my kids for any dryness or areas that needed some extra protection. It is nice and thick and stays right where you apply it instead of rubbing off everywhere. I like that it's all natural and has no weird unpronounceable ingredients. Since you can breastfeed without rubbing it off first, you can use it anytime anywhere straight from the convenient leak proof tube. Where I live it gets to be -40 and my hands get so dry they crack and bleed, and this is the only cream that will heal them!! Definitely recommend. My only complaint is the bottle appears to be nice and full but it actually has a good deal of air in it so it wasn't as full of product as it appeared. Still an amazing product and one I fully endorse.
