My baby and I loved the waves and heartbeat sound. Unfortunately after 3 months the speaker began to make a loud crackling sound which was unbearable to listen to. I ordered another one from the website after being told &quot;there is no warranty&quot; on this product. I received my second soother and have used it for a month only to have the same thing happen again. We do run this machine all night every night, but my sister has an older version that has lasted her 3 years. Very disappointed that this product failed so quickly. He fell in love with it and we still use it every night four years later. It's easy to travel with and stays on all night if you set it to infinity. It felt so LOUD! The sound is just not soothing. Its just... noise. It must have something to do with the freaquency, not just the volume. I never realized not all white noise is created equal until I got a Rohm. Even cranked up, the noise is soothing so you dont even hear it after a while. I wish we discovered this sooner! Other than that it looks cute, the stars on the ceiling were a hit, and it stays on all night, and effectively blocks outside noises. It was something I didn't like but could live with. A few days ago I pushed the power button to turn on the owl, and it will not turn on. I tried plugging it in to other electrical outlets and using different power adaptors. Nothing worked. Now it's merely an expensive decoration. Long story short she still uses the small one. This machine doesn&rsquo;t play the melodies as smooth as the small one, it almosts sounds harsh and not as comforting. The most important thing that I wanted was an on and off button that saves your last settings, so I just have to hit one button every morning and every night, which this has. The only thing I don&rsquo;t like is that the belly nightlight cannot be turned all the way down, only dimmed. The lowest volume is still so loud that even with the owl ~10 feet from our baby monitor, we could hear the sounds loud and clear. 2. I love that it has different melodies as well as white noises; the volume can go pretty high which I really like. My son is a light sleeper I jank it all the way up with the white noise and he lasts for a good while asleep. The night light is actually pretty bright as well. You can control how bright or dim you want it. Just love it all around! If the one I have ever broke down I would purchase one myself.
