Balanced well (batteries: four D cells) are placed in the shoulder stock area, so it's not front-heavy. Cyclic rate is the fastest of any (unmodified) flywheel Nerfgun so far, so you really do need the 25 dart drum mag that comes with it. (I really wish Hasbro would market, separately, the 25 dart drums instead of the 18 dart box mags.) But it's not perfect. It has only one (small) tacrail at the front-top; it could use tacrails on at least one side (if not both), and there's no attachment assembly for barrel extensions on the muzzle. (Why isn't this a standard thing by now, Hasbro?) The trigger is definitely easy to squeeze for a 5 year old and a 3 year old can carry it if they tried.
