I have have high tier internet but the app has many times its connecting... still connecting then I force close the app and try again before I can see the video feed for the sock readings. The other con I have up front besides the app not being as fast as I expected consistently. Would be there’s no power on of switch or way to power down the camera via the app. I’d like the extra security/ privacy peace of mind. Currently have to unplug the camera to power off. I do this also because we get tubs of sound notifications just from life in the house when baby isn’t in the room sleeping.
Pros: great video quality with zoom features and all you could basically ask for.
The socket itself is great and like the base station with the colors and sound it plays if something happen. This gives my wife and I much more peace of mind and can get better sleep or do things around the house knowing baby can be checked on.
We had a friend lose a child unexpectedly at 6 months and this gives us more way to monitor baby if something were to happen we can react quickly.
In summary really good mostly just the app that holds this product back in my opinion with the inconsistencies with load time.</span>

We’re not wealthy people, so it was an investment for us. After coming home, it’s really the only way that I’ve been able to get rest at night (when my son lets me. :)). I became accustomed to the monitors at the hospital, so Owlet was a good transition home for me. We’ve gotten a few false alarms, but not a ton (and I’d prefer the false alarms to missing a real one). I love this product and don’t know what I’d do without it.
My only issue is that the app takes awhile for the camera to load, which can be anxiety inducing sometimes. Otherwise, it’s great.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We have used the sock and monitor since we brought our daughter home from the hospital. Without the sock I don’t think I would have gotten any sleep at all. In the beginning I had some difficulty getting the sock on right but I believe that is because my daughter was born early so I didn’t have a chance to sit down and look at the instructions correctly before trying it on her.
The reason I gave 4 stars is because of the monitor. It’s great, the zoom works very well. I like the night mode more than day time actually. But, it has a 3-5 second lag. Worse than that is the app having issues connecting to my camera at times. It’s frustrating when I can hear my baby fussing but can’t see what she’s doing because the app takes a long time to connect to the camera. Sometimes I have to close out the app and start over to get it to work.
Other than that, I love this product and would highly recommend!</span>

<span itemprop="description">This device saved my newborn sons life. At approximately 2 weeks of age, my sons base began to alarm at 3 in the morning. My wife and I were both sound asleep. It woke us up right away. It was alarming us due to his extremely high heart rate. Although it’s not necessary for the device to work, we do have ours connected to wifi so that we can view the live numbers from our mobile phones. We were able to pull up the app on our phone and determine his heart rate was 280 beats per minute. We obviously immediately took him to the nearest emergency room. He was later diagnosed with SVT. SVT, if undetected, can be deadly. It was because of the Owlet sock we were able to promptly catch this and get him the medical attention he needs. Our pediatric cardiologist told us the owlet likely saved his life. If you are on the fence whether or not to spend the money on this device, my advise is BUY IT! You can’t put a price tag on your kids! My wife and I will always be believers in Owlet products!</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is the biggest waste of money you will buy. The camera continuously goes offline and the only way to re connect is to unplug and plug back it. That is difficult when it happens 3 times a week when my daughter is sleeping. It’s also dangerous because then we lose the ability to check in on her. We have done all troubleshooting. I upgraded my WiFi but the actual device or software must be faulty! Go with a different product which is probably cheaper!!</span>
