My 3 month old (who isn't colicky) is exclusively breast fed and we've recently begun introducing this bottle to her...which isn't going super well. For this reason, I feel like my review isn't the most helpful as we barely used it. She hates the bottle (and pacifiers, to be fair) and will barely tolerate the nipple in her mouth. We also have the traditional Avent bottles and nipples from when my son was an infant, and she hates these as well. What I can say about this bottle though, is that the little insert is great at keeping milk in the nipple. And if you're wondering if the nipples and insert are compatible with the other Avent bottles or even their hand pump (which I also have), they are! So glad to say that I got to try this nipple set for free from the weeSpring Parent Panel, and everything went smoothly. I tried both size 1 and size 2 nipples and both worked well, but the size 2 was just slightly too fast for my little guy but still worked great. We like the insert that keeps the nipple full, because at 6 months my little guy likes to sit up more while eating. Everything is easy to clean and I haven't had any leaking issues. These work with the same brand and type of bottle, Phillips Avent Anti-Collic bottle. While I still breastfeed my 3 week old baby, I give a bottle of my expressed milk on occasion. Both my and my baby likes these bottle nipples. They have this built ribbing/texture along the nipple tip that makes it where the nipple does not collapse flat during feedings with the bottle. What I noticed was there is also a special vent built in with the bottle so the air actually escapes while feeding, which is why I believe the nipple does not collapse in a feeding. My baby latched on wonderfully and never showed frustration at figuring out this specific nipple. The newborn flow rate was perfect for my baby, it is very similar to his experience when feeding at my breast. The flow is low and slow and he has to work at expressing the milk like he would naturally when latched on to me. This is a great feature too because I feel confident that I can switch between myself and the bottle and not have him grow to prefer the bottle over me. I also noticed that he never got additional gas/bloat problems while using this nipple. I did like the bottle itself (although I prefer glass bottles), and loved the idea of having multiple nipple types to use as my baby grows. I did use this on my six week old, and felt like even the lowest flow nipple was still a little too much for her. Milk did come out of the top without her actively sucking which I felt did not help with her latching and gulping of extra air. That being said, I can not really say if these nipples helped with colic or not, as I felt the flow was still too fast. I will be curious how it works when my child gets a little older and can handle more flow. I have a 3 month old and we have been struggling with and feeding from bottles. I was a little hesitant at first because we've tried the Avent natural nipple and he rejected it. However, when I gave this to him he latched on right away. Another plus for this nipple is that with other nipples he was able to latch on to, he would make a sound when sucking due to his high palate, but with this nipple he didn't. My daughter is 9 months old and since we already use slow flow nipples so she took to these nipples without any problems. At this age we don't have any issues with her spitting up or gas, so I cant speak to how well the vent works for reducing that. I can say that as a powered formula user, the powder can get stuck up in the insert when making a bottle. I suggest shaking the formula up first, then adding the vent. It's a little messy, but if you need to use the vent, it would be worth it. I also like that the nipples are clearly labeled with the size and very easy to clean. Overall I would recommend these nipples with and without the vent depending on your specific needs. The anticolic feature is a nice addition but it&rsquo;s a little tricky to figure out how to use (ie: you just use the bottle as you would or does the milk need to flow a certain way). It is, however, super easy to clean. I will also say the flow is a little faster than our little guy can handle but he&rsquo;s only 6 weeks old. These would be better for an older baby. My newborn son is breastfed but I am working from home and I pump and use a bottle so others can feed him. It offers a slow flow which I think mimics breastfeeding and doesn&rsquo;t allow much, if any air to get in, which causes gas. Since using these, my son has not cried after feedings from being gassy and has seemed to have a lot less spit up too. Another plus is he&rsquo;s been burping without much effort or help from us. This makes it much more easy for others to feed him now. I am very grateful for that. I received the bottle and newborn flow nipples as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. Each little has truly had their own like whether it was my preference or not. I like that the Avent Anti-Colic bottle has nipple options available and that they are easily identified on the actual nipple by an obvious number versus having to carefully study the nipple. I also like that they are easy to clean. There are no &ldquo;pockets&rdquo; for stuff to get stuck in so it&rsquo;s easily cleaned in the dishwasher. There&rsquo;s no need to pick a pocket or study the cleanliness before use. As for my little actually liking the nipple, he had a hard time latching. He is going on 7 weeks and we have been mostly breastfeeding so it&rsquo;s still an adjustment. We tried this slower flow nipple and while the flow is easy for her to control, the shape of the nipple is a little awkward in my opinion. Baby has some trouble latching onto the base but perhaps that will improve as she takes a bottle more often. I do think the anti-colic design works well as she does not seem gassier than when she nurses. The nipples are easy to clean and assemble with the bottle. My baby started using this nipple/bottle combo at about 4wks old, he is now 8wks. We have been using size 1 nipple, which seems to be the right flow for him. He has a small mouth but the nipple size works great and he took to it easy. He doesn&rsquo;t like for us to take this bottle away, even just to pause, meaning the flow rate is just right for him. He is not a colicky baby, so I don&rsquo;t really know if it helped in that sense, but he burped and spit up a little less than he normally would with other bottles we&rsquo;ve tried. He definitely seems to prefer this bottle to other ones we&rsquo;ve used. I love that they offer a variety of nipple sizes so the bottle can grow with him. We will definitely be moving up nipple sizes as he shows signs for needing a faster flow rate. So I was excited to try this bottle and nipples out when the weespring parent panel sent them to review. I was not disappointed at all. This is the only bottle and nipple my little one can take without spitting back up half her bottle. You can actually see the air bubbles being pushed back into the bottle instead of the baby's tummy as they feed. In fact I was so impressed that I ran to the store and bought more and got rid of the other brands we have tried. My little one was breastfed but we switched to formula to try and help the reflux but even when she was nursing she had no issues with nipple confusion with this bottle, but she does seem to prefer the slower flow rate of the 1s at the moment. I expect he would not mind a faster nipple, but I like that the slower-flow ones are supposedly more similar to the natural flow in breastfeeding. At this age, we don't burp him anymore or worry too much about spit up, so it's hard to gauge how necessary the anti-colic piece is for us. The bottle does seem to do a good job of keeping milk in the nipple, so our son probably appreciates the smooth flow. He took to the new nipple immediately, and didn't seem to notice a difference (though his usual nipple has a very different shape) but my son tends not to be picky. I really love that these work with our other Philips Avent bottles, and the bottles for my breast pump. Compared to other anti-colic bottles, this is much easier to clean. I can't say for sure whether we really need the vent at our son's age, but if I was recommending anti-colic nipples and bottles for a friend, I would definitely suggest they try these first due to the ease of cleaning. As an exclusive pumper, I've had to give my baby bottles since day one. I've tried several different bottle brands and Phillips Avent continues to be my preference and as my baby continues to grow it has been very helpful to try a variety of nipples to adjust flow as he develops. While he will drink from just about any nipple, he did drink more consistently and uninterrupted from this one as he would bite and spit out other nipples that would collapse. He also was able to stay latched as the nipple continued to be full of milk instead of air, which I believe helped with digestion and reduced spit ups. It took a few tries but my little one did finally take to the nipple. She&rsquo;s a very picky baby when it comes to nipples, she won&rsquo;t even take a pacifier, so for her to accept this one is a HUGE plus! During use, she didn&rsquo;t have any issues with the flow being too much or too little, sometimes while breastfeeding my let down can be too strong and she gets a little choked up and consumes a lot of air, with this bottle she had no issues. The nipple also held no air or air bubbles which is a big factor when considering something for anti-colic or anti-gas! Overall after the feeding she didn&rsquo;t have as much gas as she typically does, and I didn&rsquo;t see any fussiness or pain associated with gas! Definitely would recommend using this! My baby is almost exclusively breastfed but we use a bottle with pumped breast milk on occasion so my other kids can feed the baby and when I will be gone for more than a couple hours. One thing I found convenient is the bottle attached to my breast pump so I could pump directly into the bottle. I tried this out on my baby who was 5-6 weeks old. She had trouble taking it the first time I tried but then I left the room and she took it fine from my husband. This was the first bottle we introduced to her. I like the size and ease of holding the bottle. The nipple was always filled with milk which kept my baby from swallowing air. We used the first size newborn bottle and the flow seemed right. My baby wasn&rsquo;t choking or getting fussy that it wasn&rsquo;t coming out fast enough. When she nurses from me, my milk sometimes lets down too fast and my baby will cough as she tries to keep up. We didn&rsquo;t have a problem with that with the bottle. I spent hundreds of dollars on bottle feeding supplies that never got used, and ultimately gave up even trying and I donated my large stash of expressed milk to a local NICU. Fast forward to baby #2 and my on first evening away from my 8 week old baby for a much-needed and much-deserved date night with the hubs, I was shaking in my (adorable) boots at the idea of leaving my poor mother with the bottle. Under the assumption that this baby would be like her big sister, we planned a meal close to home, ringtone on loud, just in case things went south at home. To my surprise, we made it home a few hours later to a happy, sleeping baby with a full belly and a grand mother who was very proud of herself. And while I&rsquo;d love to give her the credit she most definitely deserves, I truly think these bottles are something special. Since that first night, I have personally given her a few bottles a week to keep up the skill (for the both of us) and every time has been easy and gas free. The brilliant air venting allows a steady flow of air into the top of the bottle to prevent bubbles in the milk which makes for a happy baby belly and a happy mama. The optional nipple flows were also helpful because the medium flow that came with the bottle was a bit too fast for my newborn so I was able to easily switch to a slow flow. He also seemed to burp quicker and more easily (also without the spit up) during feeds with this bottle. I love that they are designed to keep air out of the nipple so I could hold it normally as opposed to the usual way I hold it way against his face to make sure the nipple is only full of formula. This was my favorite feature because I could see him better during feeding without the bottle obstructing his face. I also loved that they are as easy to clean as the natural bottles. The extra part is very easy to use.
