Philips AVENT SCF680/37 Classic 4 Ounce Bottle with Classic Newborn Nipple promotes the health and comfort of your baby. Developed using extensive research and clinical trials, this BPA free bottle is proven to reduce fussiness and colic. The bottle features a two-piece anti-colic system that consists of the Philips AVENT nipple and adapter ring. As your baby feeds, the unique skirt on the nipple flexes to allow air into the bottle, preventing vacuum build up, and not into your baby's tummy. The bottle comes with a Classic Newborn Nipple made of extra soft silicone and featuring a single-hole. The nipple is intended for newborns and breastfed babies of all ages. Working with your baby's natural feeding rhythm, the nipple lets your baby control the flow, more like breastfeeding, which can help reduce overeating and spit-up. Like all Classic Philips AVENT bottles, this Classic Feeding Bottle works interchangeably with the entire line of Philips AVENT Classic feeding products, making it easier to meet your growing baby's changing needs.
BPA-Free Clinically proven to significantly reduce fussing Advanced anti-colic system: Innovative twin valve design reduces colic and discomfort by venting air into the bottle and not baby's tummy Interchangeable design works with all Philips AVENT Classic feeding products Dishwasher and microwave safe

These bottles work well and are easy to use. I had second guessed registering for them because people reported lots of leaking, but we have had no problems after a month of using them day in and day out. The nipple makes an audible clicking sound when its snapped into its proper place, so it's easy to tell if it's assembled correctly. The wide neck makes for easy cleaning because bottle brushes fit in without any problem.

The first couple of times we used these bottles they did not leak. After a few washes however they started to leak. I switched to the platex nipples and bottle system because they were cheap. The other avent bottles without the extra ring (the more expensive bottles) don't leak at all. I also use Dr. Browns wide neck, and they have never leaked for me. I leave those for babysitters or others who might feed my daughter because I wouldn't want them to leak for someone else. Perfect bottles!
I felt compelled to write a review for anyone considering these bottles because I think they're great and they DON'T LEAK!! I used these 7 years ago with my first child before they changed the design and changed it again to what it is now. They were awesome then and they are awesome now. I've never used any different bottles so I can't compare fusiness or spit up, but I do think these definitely help with all of those issues or I wouldn't keep using them. The only time I've ever had a leak is when I forgot the sealing ring! The key is to put the sealing ring on the mouth of the bottle, not the inside the nipple ring. Also as I am tightening the lid, I wait to hear a slight popping noise indicating it is sealed. If I don't hear it I unscrew and tighten again. This is not a hassle to me and seems to have worked well to guard against the leaks so many others have reported.

This is a great bottle, that has a convenient sanitizer that goes in the microwave. My son took right to this nipple after breastfeeding without any issue. The problem? Sometimes they leak. I've tried all the recommendations...make sure the lid is on tight, make sure the lid isn't on too tight, make sure the nipple "pops" into place...nothing seems to guarrantee that they will not leak. It is very frustrating. If I had to do it again, I would go with another bottle that doesn't have leak issues. Who needs the mess and extra stress of wet shirts and soaked bibs because the seal isn't designed properly. We had 4 bottles that were the older style (honey color) and these seems to never leak. It is the frosty clear with the new valve ring that seems to have the problems. Why would they change the design when the other ones work just fine.

Well designed and well manufactured
These bottles are the best we've found and meet all the criteria for reducing excess gulped air and gas in our little one. Was a little skeptical at first, as the placement of the vent is at the collar, and the thought was that the collar/ring join point would be the source of any leak. Followed the instructions and have NEVER had a leak. I read a review indicating too many parts - not an issue if the instructions are followed and the user is not confused with 3 parts. Overtightening the collar will essentially make the vent ring useless and cause it to leak. Best practice is to ensure the nipple is clean and seated properly inside the collar. The design allows for the slip/vent ring to let small amounts of air into the bottle, thus preventing a vacuum, and when used properly will not leak. Another bonus is the BPA-free materials used. May be a little more expensive, but crertainly more durable than the cheaper and inferior materials of some of the other brands--tried those too and the other "vented" brands DID leak. Someone expended a lot of time on the R&D for this product and it certainly is evident in its performance.

I have to disagree with the previous review regarding these bottles having too many parts. There are only 2; the ring and the nipple. It is pretty basic; snap the nipple into the ring and attach to the bottle. There are no valves or other internal pieces to worry about. Honestly, the Avent bottles actually have less parts than many other bottle systems. I do agree that these bottles do leak on occassion, even after you think you have the technique down. But once you unscrew the top and reattach, its fine. And the leaks I've had have been very minor. A few drips and then I fix it. Overall, I have been very pleased with these bottles for the price. I didn't want to go the cheap route and I didn't want to spend a ton of money on bottles, so these were a great mid price range solution. As far as preventing colic or gassiness, these have worked great. And they are dishwasher safe...a lifesaver for our busy family!

The package says that these bottles do not leak but they did for us. I lost at least 12 oz of milk that I pumped and it was heartbreaking because the bottles were not sealed correctly. The bottles DO WORK if you make sure that all the parts are on correctly. When you need to leave it is confusing to have to explain how they work to the caregiver, and I rather not have to worry if the cap is sealed right. My MIL was feeding my son once with these bottles, and it spilled all over my son and her. It's just too complicated and there are other bottles out there that are much more simpler.
