The pacifiers really do as the name says and they soothe her when she is really tired. She uses the pacifier and then will fall asleep in a few minutes. The texture is silicone and the shape is like her bottle which really helps to soothe her when she is no longer hungry. I also really love the colors that the Stellar Product Testing Panel sent me. Super easy to clean and sanitize, I popped them right in to the dishwasher and they come out perfect! The finger hold didn&rsquo;t make much of a difference to me to be honest. A similar brand was recommended by a speech pathologist and lactation consultant but it was much too large for their small mouths. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Pannel, these Avent soothie pacifiers came at the perfect time! My tiny 5 lb daughter loves the Avent pacifier. It fits well in her mouth and she is able to use it to soothe between being exclusively breastfed. I love that the pacifier is shaped similarly to a nipple, and that I have not noticed any change to her latch. The open front also makes it easy to help her latch correctly onto the pacifier, so much so that even our 5 year old can help! I appreciate that it is a single piece, easy to clean. One word of caution with that, the material picks up dog hair easily, however the colors of the material make them easy to see and simply pull off. These come in the cutest neutral colors - perfect for either a little boy or girl! I love the smooth silicone material that makes up the entire pacifier which makes it easy to clean and keep clean. Though you can wash with soap and water, this pacifier is also dishwasher safe which is a huge bonus for me. The unique shape of this pacifier makes it stand out. You can use the holes in the pacifier to easily attach a pacifier clip. The finger hold is perfect for helping my little one find the nipple to hold on to. The actual shape of the nipple resembles that of a breast which makes me less worried about nipple confusion. The outside of the pacifier is large and round. I find that sometimes this bumps my little ones&rsquo; nose or is easy for his little fingers to get under so I notice that it easily falls out of his mouth or is hard to hold on to as an infant. Overall, I think this is a great pacifier to start your little one with for soothing while also trying to breastfeed. I received two sets of Philips Avent Soothies as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it has been the next best thing. My son still prefers the smaller NICU Soothie Pacifier, but will definitely graduate to the new Philips Avent Soothies in the next few weeks. The picture shows the difference in size of the nipple and the body of the pacifier. He happily takes one, but as soon as he is asleep, the paci falls right out of his mouth! These are great colors and so easy to clean. The design is sleek and color is beautiful. It feels very durable. I love that it&rsquo;s so easy to clean and there are multiples so you are never out of them. It was hard for my breastfeed baby to accept it right away (it was the first pacifier and no bottles introduced before), but he was able to take it after a while. They have a hole on the outside of the nipple allowing adult to help baby position it called finger hold without contaminating the pacifier. They also have holes in them so you can connect it to a pacifier &quot;keeper&quot; (leash) that you clip to baby's shirt. This one, however, was different. My baby took to it more readily than others. The finger hold feature allowed me to easily guide the pacifier into his mouth, and the shape seemed to provide more comfort, enabling him to suck more naturally. It has lasted much longer than others, which is great because, at only one month old, we had already gone through several other brands before trying this one. I also love the colors! They are adorable, and the best part is how easy it was to clean and sanitize these pacifiers thanks to their sleek, one-piece design. The baby responded well to the larger size/shape of the nipple and harder material of the pacifier. The pacifier allowed me to get the baby to sleep sooner, which gave me a little more time to myself. I would recommend a new design for the back of the pacifier, however. The baby had a hard time keeping the pacifier in his mouth and didn&rsquo;t have anything to hold onto or balance his hand on. Finally, I love pacifiers that come with a case or ability to self-sanitize. Would have loved that here, but overall, the Phillips Avent soothie pacifier was a great help. My baby (3 mo) had no issues adapting to this pacifier and switching from this pacifier to bottle/nursing, which is what I always worry about. I like that it's a very simple and clean design, plus the material is silicon (no plastic is always a plus in this household!). The pacifier itself was also relatively easy to clean. I use a bottle brush for behind the nipple area. The only thing that I had a little bit of difficulty with was finding the right clip to attach this pacifier to my son's onesie. The traditional pacifiers have a larger ring that is easy to attach. This one has a couple of holes that you can theoretically thread the clip through but I found it a bit challenging. I&rsquo;ve seen this brand used in hospitals, and many of my friends use these pacifiers with their kids. I&rsquo;m naturally drawn to products used by medical professionals, so I really wanted to love this product! When I opened the package, I immediately noticed the trendy colors of the pacifiers. They&rsquo;re more muted than the bright products I usually see for infants. I did have to sterilize them in a separate sterilizer that is not included with the product. I continued to sterilize them frequently because my baby repeatedly spit them out (more on that below). They were, however, easy to clean. The pacifiers have a large opening, which allows a caregiver to hold them with one finger. This is quite convenient. There&rsquo;s also a little protrusion to hold the pacifiers, and I&rsquo;ve seen other people use this &ldquo;finger hold&rdquo; to clip them to their child&rsquo;s clothes. I found both methods of holding the pacifiers to be a bit awkward, but I would have still used them if my baby liked them. Unfortunately, my baby did not like these pacifiers as much as another brand that has a flatter nipple and a nose cutout. She would suck on the Philips Avent Soothie for a few seconds or maybe a minute at most. With the other brand, she&rsquo;d happily keep the pacifier in for much longer, including while sleeping. I asked my now 2-month-old baby why she preferred the other brand, but she just stared at me. I don&rsquo;t think she understood the question. My child&rsquo;s preferences aside, my only real complaint is that there&rsquo;s no case included to sterilize or transport the pacifiers. As far as my infant liking the pacifier, I will preface by saying my baby does not keep many pacifiers in her mouth for more than 10 seconds, and we have tried multiple brands and types. She did seem to like this one a little more than the others and keeps it in her mouth for at least a few minutes. The vent holes help prevent rashes on her face.
