<span itemprop="description">This bottle sterilizer has many features that make it easy to use. The instructions are very detailed and well written. There are two clips that fasten the top of the sterilizer to the bottom to prevent the hot water from coming out and possibly hurting you if you don't let it cool in the microwave. The fairly small size does not take up a lot of counter space. I like how I can leave it shut and the bottles will stay sterilized for up to 24 hours. It even comes with a plastic tweezer like piece, so you can pick up hot pieces out of it.
The box says that it holds four bottles. They are referring to the smaller five ounce bottles. It can only hold two of the larger nine ounce bottles. I wish it could hold more of the larger bottles.
Overall, this is a well designed and built product. I would suggest it to my friends looking for a bottle sterilizer.

It takes less than 5 minutes to fill it and sterilize your bottles and accessories. I pack it full every time I use it and do more than the amount of bottles it says fit, I should mention I received this as a free sample to review. It is worth a buy and had I known how easy and effective it was I would have bought one sooner. During the cold and flu season with my daughter in daycare this sterilizer has made life a little less stressful with how easy it is to use and knowing her bottles are sanitized and cutting down on germs. I think this is a great product for anyone who is looking for a quick and easy way to sterilize bottles. After reading through the instructions - it was extremely easy to use. I could easily fit four bottles in the sterilizer. With my first child I would sterilize bottles by boiling water, which was time consuming. Now with my second child I find it much faster and easier with the Philips Microwave Sterilizer. My only complaint would be the size of sterilizer (as we are limited on kitchen storage) but you will run into the same problem with any microwave sterilizer on the market. Overall, I would highly recommend this product.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I am the father of a sweet (and hungry) 7 months old girl and washing and sterilizing bottles is a (multi)daily routine. We already have a microwave sterilizer of a different brand and when I received a free sample of the Philips Avent SCF281/05 Microwave Steam Sterilizer to review I was curious to find out if there were appreciable differences. After using it for over a week, I can definitely say that there are several things that I really like about this microwave sterilizer.
First, the size is just right, not too big and not too small. The construction is quite sturdy while still being lightweight. One feature that I really like is the locking system: while assuring a better sterilization it will also avoid spills of hot water when you remove it from the microwave and you handle it right after use.
Talking about cons, the pre-set spaces are useful only if you use only Philips Avent bottles. While the sterilizer works well also with bottles from other brands, a flat surface would have been much better! Also, the tongs are totally useless, they are small and I was never able to use them efficiently to really grab anything
Overall, I like the Philips Avent Microwave Steam sterilizer much better than the one I own. It is sturdy, the color is nice and the locking system is great, even if I would have preferred a design allowing a higher versatility when mixing and matching with bottles of other brands.</span>

I used a few brands of microwave sterilizers in the past few years ( I have 5 children...ages 6mo, 3yr, 4yr, 11yr and 13 yrs old) and this one has got to be my favorite. Extremely easy to use and more importantly, it sterilizes the bottles (after washing them properly with water and soap) in just 2 minutes! That`s the fastest I`ve experienced with any other steam sterilizer. It`s very roomy so you can also sterilize your breast feeding pump parts as well. I received this as a free sample to try and I am so glad I did!! I never realized how much I would use a product like this. It is so easy to use and sterilizes all of our baby bottles in just a couple minutes! Plus I use it for all the kids pacifiers and teethers! It is the perfect size, it will fit in all microwaves but I love that it is still big enough to hold enough at one time so it is all done at once. I wasn't expecting much since I've always just boiled my bottles in the past but I have to say this was a super quick and easy way to sterilize. I always wondered before if it was really working when boiling but this sterilizer made me feel so much more comfortable. I just did a few things starting out to try it and ended up sterilizing everything after every day since it had been a while since I had done it. If my child was to get sick I would be using this over and over to make sure all germs are killed off. But otherwise, I would use this about once a month as a maintenance. The assembly and instructions use were super easy.</span>

I had never bothered to sterilize bottles before, so I don`t have any previous experience with how difficult or easy it should be, but this is SUPER easy. 7 oz water in the container, put your bottles/nipples/caps in (holds maybe about 5 bottles at a time), microwave for a couple minutes, and you`re done. (Obviously also give the items a couple minutes to cool off!) I will continue to use this sterilizer and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an easy way to sterilize bottles. My only complaint is how much room it takes up. We have a small apt and space is limited everywhere, and this thing is about the size of a crockpot. Fortunately it`s only used about 10 min at a time, so it should be easy to designate some space in a cabinet to it.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I agreed to write a review of this product in exchange for receiving it and being able to keep it. I did like the ease of use of the steam sterilizer and I felt it did a good job at cleaning/sterilizing my bottles. My son is breastfed, but when he does get the occasional bottle it's nice to be able to sterilize them quickly! One thing I didn't like, as opposed to the steam sterilizer microwave bags I had been using is the space it takes up. The bags collapse easy and can be put away when not in use. This sterilizer needs a space to be stored.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I was excited to try out this free sample! When I first opened the steamer I thought it was pretty big (it's about the size of a cake carrier), but realized it holds a lot. It's probably best for families that have lots of feeding supplies that need to be sterilized and/or have a little extra cabinet space.
Assembly is easy! Three pieces that are easy to clean and dry and put together. Instructions are simple and sterilizer is quick and easy to use.
It's important to note that the items going into the sterilizer need to be cleaned first with hot soapy water, this item will not clean milk residue off the bottles and nipples.
I liked that I was able to fit my other brand bottles in the sterilizer. There are notches in the tray of the sterilizer that fit the Avent bottles perfectly, but I had no trouble placing other brands in there.
This is definitely a two-handed endeavor. I wasn't able to remove the hot sterilizer from the microwave with my baby on my hip (her favorite place to be!) I would like there to be a handle on the top, so I could at least get it out of the microwave with one hand.
I really like the added feature of a little notch that holds the lid for the bottles around the sides of the sterilizer. There are four hooks in total. It frees up tray space.
I would definitely recommend this to both my formula feeding friends and my breast feeding friends. I could easily use this to sterilize my breast pump parts in addition to the bottles and nipples.
Overall, I love the simplicity and versatility. A good buy!

<span itemprop="description">I received this product as a free sample to review. I used the product several times and found the product to be great overall. It is simple to use and I felt as if it does a good job sterilizing the bottle parts. It seems to be made of good quality and after using it 10 plus times it still looked brand new. The only downfall to the product is that is it bulky and takes up needed space in my kitchen.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The microwave steam sterilizer is a time-saver and more convenient than traditional sterilization methods (boiling in a pot), but it does not replace the necessity to clean bottles with a brush and soap prior to sterilization.
Overall, compared to boiling in a pot, the microwave steam sterilizer saves about 7-8 minutes. That`s not much savings, and one of the drawbacks is that the unit itself is rather large, taking up more precious kitchen storage space (and counter space while it`s air drying).
One minor note is that the rack is very specific for where to put parts of the bottles, but because the space is so cramped, they don`t sit well and move around.
We don`t sterilize every night, so a positive note is that the convenience of the sterilizer will probably get us to do it more often.
For people who sterilize every day, this is a very good product. If it saves you 7-8 minutes a day, that`s about an hour a week. New parents know that`s a lot!

<span itemprop="description">This product couldn't be more straight forward to use. Simply fill with water, the items you need sanitized and place into the microwave, done. I use Tommee Tippee bottles and I can fit them in perfectly, as well as parts from my Evenflo double breast pump. Would recommend to a new mom, makes sterilizing super easy and quick.</span>

Hi! The sterilizer is not dishwasher-safe. Always unplug the appliance and let it cool down before you clean it. Clean the base with a moist cloth to avoid scratching it. The baskets and the lid can be cleaned in hot water with some liquid soap. Never immerse the base, the mains cord or the mains plug in water or any other liquid. Do not use scouring pads, abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents to clean the appliance. After cleaning, store the sterilizer in a clean, dry place.
