I have had issues in the past with melting bottles in the sterilizer bag, and this one is great, no problems. Before I received this product from weeSpring Parent Panel to test and review I was boiling water in pots to sterilize and also to heat up the milk a really long process sometimes 30 plus minutes. I love the microwavable sterilizer it is so wonderful 2 min and everything is sterile and ready to use. It looks like a container you would put cake in to bring to a party. It is big and takes up some space. What I wish it had was some kind of handle to make transporting out of the microwave a little easier it does have secure clasps. The bottle warmer is nice I'm still adjusting to how it works but basically you but water in it and choose the setting you need and put in the bottle. It says it will warm up milk to a perfect temp for baby but it doesn't have a timer and doesn't shut off on it's own so I had to keep an eye on it and constantly check the milk so it wouldn't get too hot. It is nice to have though. Since I started bottle feeding we have been using one bottle to feed her and it was challenging at first for her to transition to the Avent bottle (I used the smaller one since she is only still drinking under 3oz of milk.) The adjustment issue she was having was that this nipple is a little firmer and flows quicker than what she is used to but after two tries she was pro. Last but not least she loves these pacifiers it's not clunky like others we have tried the only downside is that it's clear and so it disappears in plain sight because it blends so well to any surface it's on. Overall this would be a great gift for expectant moms to add to their registry. The sterilizer is amazing. It fits a ton (4 bottles, rings, nipples, and dome covers) and works in 4 minutes in my microwave (my microwave is 1000 watts, but if yours is 1200+, it will work in only 2 minutes!). The sterilizer also has little pictures on each well of the sterilizing tray to show how to arrange the bottles and parts, as well as detailed instructions and pictures. I'm back at work and pumping several times a day. I don't sterilize my pumping parts or my son's bottles every day, but I try to do it a few times a week, and this sterilizer is perfect. I had been using sterilizer bags, but one set of pumping equipment won't fit in the bag, so I had to do two or more rounds. The Avent sterilizer easily fits all the parts from my double breast pump. The only downside I've found is that the instruction manual comes with very clear pictures of how to arrange four bottles into the sterilizer, but doesn't show any other arrangements for sterilization (pumping parts, toys, teethers, etc.). It warns not to overfill, but doesn't show what that looks like or how to avoid it. I also LOVE Avent bottles. I exclusively breastfeed, but we've used Avent bottles any time we've gone out and the grandparents babysit. Now my son (almost 5 months old) is at daycare all day and these are the bottles we use. He easily transitions from breast to bottle and doesn't have any issues with gas or excessive spitting up. I also appreciate that these bottles have anti-colic features without a bunch of extra straws, valves, etc. to clean. The wide neck bottle is easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher (and, of course, it fits perfectly in the sterilizer). My only complaint is that the dome lids can be hard to remove, especially if your hands are wet. Overall, this is an awesome gift set. The sterilizer was definitely my favorite part. It's also a great gift because it includes a bottle/food warmer, two different sized bottles/nipples, pacifiers, and a bottle brush, and those are items a new parent might not register for separately. It really is the perfect baby shower gift. Our first baby had a terrible bout of colic for the first 3 months of his life and we tried almost every type of bottle out there, finally settling on both Avent and another major brand. Over the last 6 years I&rsquo;ve seen so many advancements in design - it&rsquo;s very cool to see how much these bottle and nipple shapes have changes as more research is done. Our latest kiddo tried the bottles and had no problem with them. It&rsquo;s convenient to have multiple bottle sizes for when your baby is younger and won&rsquo;t drink as much, and then the larger sizes as their tummies grow. I LOVE the universal feature of these bottles and how we can mix and match with other Avent products (breast pump, cup parts, etc.). Bonus that the plastic parts are BPA free. Pacifiers are such a personal choice for a baby &ndash; our first baby loved the brand we received from the hospital and that was it! Second baby didn&rsquo;t take to binkies, and now our third will take any soothie we offer. So the Phillips soothies are a hit. Microwave sterilizers are the best &ndash; I don&rsquo;t always have time to run all of my pump parts, bottles and nipples in the dishwasher. This sterilizer is QUICK &ndash; 2 minutes! I wouldn&rsquo;t exactly say it&rsquo;s &ldquo;convenient&rdquo; for travel since it&rsquo;s fairly large and bulky, and it does tend to take up some room on the kitchen counter, but we usually store it on top of the fridge and pull it down when needed. The upside to the size is that you can fit quite a few items inside. The bottle warmer is pretty speedy. I know warmers have come a long way over the years, but I still gently swirl the milk once during the heating process and then after it&rsquo;s done, and then I always check the temp before giving it to my little one. In my opinion, the bottle brush is the best one available &ndash; and I&rsquo;ve tried tons of them! This is the exact type of brush that I&rsquo;ve purchased twice before for my own kiddos. The shape easily enters any size bottle and doesn&rsquo;t splatter when pulling it out (like the round brush heads). Plus when you&rsquo;re done with baby bottles it also works on everyday dishes and water bottles. The brush is easy to pop in the dishwasher for a deep clean. As a first time mom, or second or third, this gift set is a must. Five years ago I had a microwave steam sterilizer, that is before my husband spray painted and inadvertently ruined it. That brand of sterilizer took five minutes in the microwave and it was awkward to use. Not the Philip's Avent! It takes two minutes, simply fill with water, the items you're sterilizing, and plop it in the microwave for two minutes. Simple! The sterilizer is very big and bulky to use, and having to clean they sterilizer parts after every use is a big deterrent for me. The bottles are the same as their old style so nothing has changed there, but the nipple design has changed. I tried the size 2 with my 4 month old and the flow was way too fast- he was choking while drinking. I switched to the size 1 and the flow was still faster than he was used to- he finished 5 oz in 6 minutes as opposed to his usual 12 minutes with his previous bottles from a different manufacturer. He continued to choke with the size 1 nipples as well. The bottle brush is good back-up when my other 360 degree bristle brush is in the dishwasher as this brush doesn't have bristles on all the sides. I tried the pacifier and my son did not tolerate it as well as the other shaped nipple pacifiers that he has been using. I cannot speak to the sippy cup as we are not at that stage yet, but it looks pretty standard and hopefully will be useful when the time comes! The bottles are great. The ergonomic bottle shape makes it easy to hold. My baby easily took this bottle, however, I found that the nipple sometimes inverted down into the bottle, making it hard for the baby to sip until the nipple is pulled back out. My baby really loves the pacifiers. The bottle brush is really helpful to get to those hard to reach places, but fortunately, there aren't a look of nooks in these bottles. I like the sterilizer, but I find it's just as easy to boil water and sanitize that way. The bottle warmer is much easier than the old-fashioned way of warming milk (in a cup of hot water). It warms the milk very fast and I didn't have to monitor it much. I would recommend a parent to add this to their registry (at the very least to see if the baby will take this bottle instead of another kind). Having all of the feeding essentials in one package is so convenient. I enjoy putting little gift sets together for baby showers, and the fact that this gift pack is already put together makes gift-giving that much easier. I would absolutely recommend that parents-to-be put this product on their baby registry for a few reasons: -Microwave sterilizer: This is convenient to use, doesn't produce waste like the disposable sterilizers, and they are efficient. The instructions are really clear and it works just as it states...everything is sterilized in two minutes! It can also hold much more than the sterilizer bags I have used in the past. I appreciate that the sterilizer can fit different brands of bottles and other feeding essentials. It's just not predictable what kind of bottle our babies will take, so it's nice to have a product that can be used with different brands! The only con is that it is pretty big. For reference, it takes up the entire space in our microwave. If you're kitchen storage is tight, I'd be more likely to recommend the space-saving reusable bags. -Bottle warmer: We LOVE this bottle warmer! The size accommodates all different sizes of bottles and the control dial is very straight forward and predictable. We had another brand of bottle warmer and we just couldn't get it to give us consistent heating...either WAY too hot or WAY too cold. This warmer is perfect. I also like that it has a baby food setting. It is easy to clean and actually looks good on the counter. The sterilizer and the bottle warmer are my favorite parts of the gift set. The rest of the items are just great add-ons, if you ask me. -Bottles: These bottles are fantastic! They fit in all bottle warmers, they are easy to clean, and they are comfortable to hold. I like that the nipples on these bottles have some texture. My daughter has refused all bottles and she actually takes these without a lot of struggle. I have tried Avent bottles before and she hasn't taken them, so I'm attributing our success to the new nipples. -Sippy cup: This sippy cup is easy for my child to hold. The flexible sippy part is a great transition from bottle to cup as babies learn to self-feed. I liked the bottles too because there are only three pieces to clean and they are wide-mouth, so the bottle brush is easy to get in and out. I also like that they work with my breast pump, so that&rsquo;s one less step I have to worry about. The sterilizer takes up a bit of counter space, but it&rsquo;s handy to be able to sterilize everything at once and it&rsquo;s easy to pop in the microwave. Definitely a time saver vs using the stove and pot to sterilize like I had been using previously. My absolute favorite was the bottle warmer! So previously I would just run the bottles under warm water but it would take forever, or what felt like forever. This was super easy to use and I like the fact that it can grow with your child as well because it can also be used to warm food containers. Now we're still just warming milk but I look forward to warming food for my son with this as well. It has multiple settings depending on the volume of milk you're warming, or if you are defrosting milk. It even allows you to keep milk warm for a few mins. On to the bottles now themselves, they are sturdy and I like the widebase nipple works great for a baby that is also at the breast. My son is 4 months so he's able to grasp the bottle though not yet hold it, but the contours allow him to place his chunky little hands on them. My son thankfully isn't really picky when it comes to different bottles so we had no problem going between these and the other bottles we were using previously. I almost forgot the pacifiers, I love, love the covers! So the little cover snaps into the pacifiers when not in use, which is helpful when carrying them and keeping them clean. In the mornings, we give her breastmilk. My husband prepares the bottle and was excited to try the bottle warmer. It was nice because we could turn it on, right out of the box. We used to heat water with the kettle and warm the bottle in a small bowl. We found that the Phillips warmer heated up the bottle far more quickly than our previous method. We thought it was making the milk *too* hot but our baby liked it just fine. I think it would've been great when our daughter was eating during the night but now she sleeps through the night and I used to nurse her. But I have friends that had this product with their little one when they gave formula bottles and it really made a crying child at 3am a lot easier to stomach. The bottles are terrific, too, especially for her age because she doesn't need the slow-flow nipples anymore. Some other bottles cause the formula to become really frothy but we did not see this with the Phillips bottles. We only used the big ones because she eats 7-8 oz per serving but the little ones are good, too. (I have the Phillips Avent double electric breastpump--also awesome--which came with a few of the little bottles and we used them when our daughter was a newborn.) I think they're a bit more ergonomically friendly than some of the other brands that we've used (MAM, for example). Our daughter can hold and tip the bottles herself, which we love. Re: the steamer. I used to use the microwavable bags and still think those are great for when you're at work or on the road. But, at home, the sterilizer is great because the bags actually won't hold all of your pump parts at once. You generally have to run it through the microwave twice, which is a pain. We generally use our dishwasher's steam function now to sterilize, but used to sterilize religiously when our daughter was a newborn. My only complaint was that the pacifiers didn't seem to stay in my daughter's mouth -- I think they were just too little for her. But I like the flat shape and expect that she would've been fine with them when she was younger. The brush it comes with does the job well, however I wish there was a nipple brush attached. My baby is only 4 months old so we haven't introduced a sippy cup yet, but I think it is awesome that the bottles and cups are interchangeable with the lids. I would definitely give this as a gift to someone who likes cleanliness and who already has &quot;everything.&quot; My baby loves the pacifiers- he rejected many of the other ones we tried but these are the ones he loves. I love the bottle brush- it has a tip for getting into the nipples and it is very effective. The sterilizer seems to be the main event in this package- I am not too fussy about sterilization but for those families who like everything pristine this is the way to go. It's really easy to manage sterilizing bottles with this and for those who don't have a dishwasher or don't like using one this is definitely the way to go. I'm in love with this bottle warmer. Many people both online and in person warned me about nipple confusion. To avoid this I kept bottles and pacifiers away from my newborn until breastfeeding was firmly established. I started pumping to keep my supply up because my daughter ate very little and I worried I wouldn&rsquo;t have enough when she was ready. I used micro steam bags to sterilize the pumping equipment. They seem easy but sometimes the requirement to mark the bag with each use was too much for this exhausted mom because I have to keep permanent markers out of my toddler&rsquo;s reach and I&rsquo;m just not that organized. My husband also helps with this and he didn&rsquo;t even notice that this is required. Additionally, my daughter wasn&rsquo;t doing great with bottles or pacifiers so we decided to take the commonly touted advice to try lots of different models. My mom bought every style pacifier and bottle in the drugstore and my husband ordered half of Amazon&rsquo;s inventory. All of this testing required a lot of cleaning and sterilizing. We ripped some of the steam bags because we overstuffed them with pumping gear and bottles. For an organized type A person, this might have been easy but I can never remember where I put the steam bags and trying to tell my husband where to find a bottle in the middle of the night is not my strong point. A much easier and neater solution to the multiple micro steam bags is the microwave sterilizer. It has room for all of the pumping equipment and the bottles and pacifiers. I don&rsquo;t like having to read separate instructions for equipment that should be obvious. I liked that the Phillips sterilizer came with a business card sized instruction to use 7 ounces of water. I still had to consult the manual to find out microwave times. I would prefer the instructions be etched onto the top of the sterilizer because I already misplaced the manual and will have to look online for guidance. I may be spoiled with glossy instruction sheets from meal delivery services because a black and white manual feels burdensome and old fashioned to me. I would prefer a glossy laminated sheet with the basics on it. The important points are what NOT to put in the sterilizer though and those are outlined to make sure the reader notices them. I will not put the cleaning brush in the sterilizer, for example. It is very easy to load the sterilizer and to empty it. It also feels easy to leave some items in there until I&rsquo;m ready to use them. I like that because I&rsquo;m always worried I might contaminate sterilized items. The kit comes with a cleaning brush which is great because using a regular sponge on my baby bottles does not feel right. I am the total opposite of a neat freak but I feel the urge for total cleanliness when it comes to baby&rsquo;s food. The brush works well for cleaning the bottles. The bristles do not fall off like some cheaper models. The problem is, where do you put the brush when you&rsquo;re not using it? There is no accompanying stand to place the brush in and it cannot stand up on its own. The pacifiers are boring compared to many of the other ones we&rsquo;ve tried. Babies don&rsquo;t care about having Elmo or a graphic on their pacifier so the fact that they are clear and plain makes sense. It actually gives the feeling that they are medical somehow and this makes me feel more confident about using them, even if I know it&rsquo;s just in my head. They are easy to hold and they lasted in my daughter&rsquo;s mouth a little bit longer than some of the other brands we&rsquo;ve tried. And we&rsquo;ve tried many other brands. The cases that come with them are wonderful. They click in nicely and then I don&rsquo;t have to worry about them falling on the floor or even sitting on my not necessarily sanitary countertop. The bottles are very cute. I wouldn&rsquo;t think cute was a factor I cared about, but seeing the nice design on these bottles made me happy. A little boost in attitude makes a difference and I think that helped. My mother was able to feed her an ounce with the Phillips bottle easily. My daughter typically will just play with the nipple with her tongue and drink like a hamster. Most importantly, she wasn&rsquo;t gassy after drinking from the bottle. She spits up often after nursing but did not after this bottle feeding. The choice in nipple and flow speeds is good as I am still trying to find the right combination. Of course, utility matters more but I really enjoy the happy design. My toddler son also loves Ash from the movie Sing so he was excited to see the porcupine on my daughter&rsquo;s bottle. Luckily he didn&rsquo;t try to drink it but he&rsquo;s happy to retrieve &ldquo;Ash bottle&rdquo; for baby. The bottles come with little tongs for handling the nipples. This is great to avoid contamination but where do you put the tongs when not in use? A little case/stand might be helpful as long as it didn&rsquo;t lead to more opportunity for bacteria to collect. I did not like the manual for the bottles. I found it very confusing. It had no bullet points and even the graphic felt unclear. It explained which nipple to use depending on baby&rsquo;s stage but because it&rsquo;s in almost paragraph form I found it difficult to interpret. A colorful chart would be more valuable. The graphic includes some kind of pump that fits on the bottle but this wasn&rsquo;t included in the box and I didn&rsquo;t see anywhere if it was an accessory sold separately. Busy parents don&rsquo;t have time to read a treatise. The more clearly the information can be conveyed, the better. The bottle warmer is a welcome addition to my kitchen countertop. Since you cannot microwave breast milk, this bottle warmer is extremely helpful. The warmer itself has icons indicating what setting to use depending on how much milk you are warming up. Like the rest of the set, the manual is bulky and fails to clearly highlight the important information. Overall though, the warmer is ridiculously easy to use and has a nice appearance. I always considered a bottle warmer an unnecessary luxury but now I don&rsquo;t feel like I could do without it. I would buy this for an expecting family because I think just getting it before the baby is born would be comforting. It would show the Parents that they will be able to keep baby&rsquo;s bottles clean easily when they might be wondering how parents do this. If there were another brand or type of set on the registry, I might get that one instead because I wouldn&rsquo;t want to impose my judgment on others. However, if a friend or relative asked my advice, I would recommend this product over others. I used Dr. Brown&rsquo;s sterilizer with my first baby and it did not last very long before the plastic melted. This product seems sturdier, cleaner and better made to last. I would also give the bottles to friends because I love the way they look and my very picky baby drank from them on the first try. First off the bottle sanitizer Works fabulous and made my life so much easier The bottles were clean and I didn't have to worry about it. It's as simple as putting it in the container and then popping it in the microwave. Not only is it super easy I like the fact that it allows me to put in more than one bottle at a time so it's convenient as well. Just put it in 2 minutes and then they're done Plus I plan on going on vacation soon so I'll definitely be taking this with me.
